Bath Bevy "Autumn Splendor” September 2022 Review
Apple Cinnamon Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8
It's going to be in the 80's and 90's here in south Louisiana for the foreseeable future, but I am still ready to fully embrace all of the delicious fall scents that autumn has to offer. This smells like hot apple cider that has had a cinnamon stick soaking in it, and it made my bath water a fun red color without any tub staining.
Autumn Delight Bubble Bath Bottle, 9 oz - Retail Value $12
Bath Bevy makes a good bubble bath- you only need about an ounce for copious bubbles, so this bottle will last you for about 9 baths. Straight out of the bottle this has a more concentrated autumnal scent (I think I pick up notes of clove and vanilla?), but once added to running water, the scent diffuses and becomes much more mellow.
Here's the mound of bubbles just a bit of the bubble bath made me.
Pumpkin Patch Cupcake Bath Bomb - Retail Value $10
These cupcake bath bombs are fun because it's part bath bomb, part bubble bar, 100% something that smells deliciously like pumpkin. To use, you crumble the "frosting" under running water to allow the agitation to form bubbles, and you drop the "cake" part into the water to go to work coloring your bath water. This was a fun experience.
White Pumpkin Whipped Soap Scrub - Estimated Value $15 (linked to the same product in similar fragrances)
You can expect a jar of whipped soap scrub in almost every month's box from Bath Bevy- I don't mind it, though I don't go through it as fast as they send it (my friends that I share it with don't complain). If you've never tried a whipped soap or whipped soap scrub, you're missing out- I find it makes sudsing up a lot more fun than holding a bar of soap because of the whipped texture, and while there is a mix of sugar in the formula, the "scrubby" part of the experience is gentle and not too abrasive. The white pumpkin scent of this month's fluffy scrub is yummy- it has notes of pumpkin without being an overpowering pumpkin spice scent that some seasonal products bear.
Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey Bath Bomb - Retail Value $8
This wasn't my favorite bath bomb from Bath Bevy. It smelled nice, with notes of vanilla and almond, but there were no fun colors in this bath bomb that I always like to see. This is actually made with oatmeal, too, which left my skin feeling soft, but also left a few oats in my tub once the water drained away. It was easy enough to clean and wasn't the end of the world, I just prefer the more colorful bath bombs (I think this is the first bath bomb from Bath Bevy to ever leave anything behind in my tub, which speaks more so to the overall quality of the bath bombs this box sends).
Because I deserved a treat, I did this bath bomb in conjunction with the autumn splendor bubble bath. Here it is in action.
Bath Tea - Retail Value $9
This was the first time I've received a bath tea from Bath Bevy- it's an herbal infusion you add to your bath and the natural extracts of rose, hibiscus, chamomile, orange peel, lemongrass, and lavender go to work soothing your skin and your spirit. This blend is really fun- since this came in a bath box I'm not going to drink it, but if there was a tisane out there with these same botanicals, I would totally brew a cup and give it a try.
Value – Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $43.21 per month + $7.95 shipping.
Value Breakdown: Everything in this box is handmade by Bath Bevy. All of the prices add up to $62, which is more than the cost of the box plus shipping.
Key Takeaways
I thought this month's Bath Bevy box smelled lovely- and I fully embrace the autumn vibes this box delivered to my doorstep. I don't know if I'll see a single leaf change color where I live, but I like to pretend that when September rolls around and we start heading towards months that won't be miserably hot. I'd say my favorite products this month were the apple cinnamon bath bomb and the bath tea, but I enjoyed all of them.
Bath Bevy does a good job creating artisan products under their label, and whenever they feature another brand it is always a special treat. If you don't take baths, don't let that deter you from subscribing- they also offer a "tubless" subscription offer (heads up- a review of their tubless box is coming within the next few days!). This is the subscription for someone looking to add a little extra luxury to their monthly bath routine with the added bonus of being surprised by the products curated around a fun theme. If you're a fan of artisan bath products or just love self-care, this is a subscription box worth checking out.
