First Impressions

I’m excited to see what products have been selected for this month’s curation as well as to find out which signature products they have included.

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other. This month I did not receive a card.

Now, on to the items!

SUNTRIBE SPF 20 Mineral Day Cream, 40 ml - Retail Value $19.99

I was really thrilled about this Suntribe SPF 20 Mineral Day Cream at first. I’ve been looking for a new sunscreen that works well for the sensitive skin on my face. This product has no scent whatsoever, which I was happy about, but when they call it a ‘cream,’ they mean a ‘CREAM.’ This beige-colored cream is super thick and heavy. It’s great for providing a protective seal over your skin to fight against not only harmful UVA and UVB rays but also visible blue light (HEV). Formulated with UV filter zinc oxide, this product seems to be the real deal; it will certainly protect you. That being said, for me, this isn’t something I would use on my face. Despite it being heavier than I prefer for products going onto my face, this is quite greasy and unfortunately leaves behind a slight white cast on my skin. But for giving maximum hydration and protection to the rest of my body, this is wonderful. It does take a while to absorb, but it leaves behind a nice, smooth feeling on any skin it touches. I also really appreciate the brand’s attention to sustainability with the product’s metal packaging.

KALEIDO COSMETICS Stellar Serum, 30 ml - Retail Value $85.00

This Stellar Serum from Kaleido Cosmetics is an oil-based product. Now, summertime weather and an oil-based serum does not bode well for my skin. I have sensitive skin that tends to experience breakouts, clogged pores, and more amid the presence of oils or other greasy / heavy skincare products. So, this is another product I will not be using on my face, but as far as my body’s hydration needs, oils work super nicely for me. This serum is quite greasy and definitely takes a while to absorb, but it does leave behind smoother feeling skin, which I appreciate, and it is virtually scentless. With a formula that includes 22 phyto-energetic botanicals like black and green tea, astragalus bark, and more, this serum is sure to keep skin hydrated and leaves behind a bit of a glow.

DERMADELI C.A.R.E. HydroGel, 8 ml - Retail Value $29.00

Ohhh, now, this Dermadeli C.A.R.E. HydroGel is sooo nice. It has a lovely applicator made from Rose Quartz, and it feels so soothing around the eye area. The HydroGel formula works to reduce puffiness and rebuild the sensitive skin around the eyes (including the eyelid and brow). Tremella (a newly discovered mushroom) pairs wonderfully with the brand’s vegan-created collagen to enhance elasticity and smooth wrinkles. I’m really loving this product. The gel absorbs almost immediately and feels great. Super lightweight and moisturizing without leaving any type of greasy residue. I love how simple this product is to apply. It’s such an incredibly quick step in my skincare routine, so it’s easy to remember to apply on an everyday basis.

NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Stain in Begonia, 2 g - Retail Value $22.00

Ah, we are back to one Nourish Naturals product per month, it seems, and this time the selected product is their signature Creamy Vegan Lip and Cheek Stain in Begonia. This shade is unfortunately a bit too light for my skin tone as a blush, but as a lip stain it’s just light enough to look clear. Formulated with shea and kokum butters, along with marshmallow root extract, for ultimate hydration, this stain does a nice job of keeping my lips hydrated without them feeling sticky or greasy. The one downside of the moisturizing formula, however, is that the stain tends to slide off my cheeks, making it essentially useless as a blush for me personally. I also really don’t enjoy sticking my fingers right into this product and would love to see a built-in applicator in the near future, but only time will tell.

Verdict

This was a good month for the Nourish Beauty Box! The absolute highlight for me was Dermadeli’s eye gel. I absolutely love the rollerball applicator and how soothing the product feels against the sensitive skin of my eyes. Although both the Suntribe day cream and Kaleido Cosmetics’ serum are too greasy for the face on my skin, these work wonders to hydrate the rough patches on my body like elbows, knees, etc. I do enjoy putting the day cream on my arms when I’m going to be out in the sun since typical sunscreen tends to irritate my skin. Lastly, the Nourish Naturals lip and cheek stain is a pretty color that’s a bit light for my skin tone, but regardless, it’s nice to use as a hydrating lip balm since it shows up mostly clear for me. Overall, this box offered a wide variety of products, and the value is definitely there.
