First Impressions

As always, my goodies arrived in the pink IPSY bubble mailer and a drawstring bag. The design is hot pink and yellow and has a popsicle pattern.

Also worth noting: I didn't make choices this month to see what kind of assortment would arrive!

Here is the info card.

Now, on to the items!

Araceli Las Flores Blush Duo in 'Dahlia & Laelia' - Retail Value $22

Blush is one of my favorite makeup products, though I am usually reaching for cream formulas right now, especially in the summer months. There is something about this duo that is just really lovely, though! One shade is a lighter pink with a golden shimmer and the other is a matte coral. Both look great on my cheeks alone, but I think they are even better when swirled together with a fluffy brush. A light-handed application on the cheeks gives the most perfect summer glow! Both shades are very smooth and have great pigment levels.

COMPLEX CULTURE SUN BATH Baked Bronzer in 'Play' - Retail Value $25

Not a bronzer user here, but if I do apply it, it needs to be a shade like this. I am super fair and I need a lighter and cooler bronzer if I don't want to look orange. This is a soft taupe-leaning color and it has a radiance built in that is very pretty on. And, even when I don't want to use it as a traditional bronzer, it looks beautiful in my eyelid crease. Complex Culture always impresses me with its formulas and very well-designed packaging, and this little compact is no exception.

CIATÉ LONDON Trend Edit Eyeshadow Palette in 'Bronzed' - Retail Value $24

I don't think I have ever received this exact Ciate London palette, but it feels super familiar. They must have a few different but similar warm curations like this. Or maybe everything in my mind is just blending together? As I have previously experienced from this brand, the matte shadows are a little splotchy and could have a better texture and level of pigment. However, the shimmers/metallics are pretty darn great! This color story is very warm, and reminds me a lot of a summer sunset, though I could also see these shadows working wonderfully for fall eye looks.

Uoma Beauty Badass Icon Matte Lipstick in 'Maya'  - Retail Value $24

I am so bummed about this color. It reads as really brown on my face and washes me out. But if you have a warmer or richer skin tone, this gorgeous shade is going to be a real winner! It is this smoked brown with a hint of lavender, and the formula is amazing. One swipe gives you full coverage and the matte finish is so smooth and soft. I would say it feels more like a velvet finish than a dry matte. Even that packaging is pretty swoon-worthy, with a satisfyingly snappy metallic cap! Aside from the color (which just really isn't great on me), I love this lipstick from this truly inclusive beauty brand and I just added the hot pink 'Whitney' shade to my shopping cart.

Stone Street Soaphouse Geranimo Wholesome Body Cream, 250 mL - Retail Value $32

My last item is a little tub of body cream that probably would have been better inside a tube because it is very runny! Maybe more like body milk? I think so. Even though it is kind of watery, I found it to be nicely moisturizing and I really loved the floral scent. Nothing groundbreaking here, but a very nice moisturizer.

Verdict

This month's IPSY Glam Bag Plus has a value of $127, which is nice for this $28 bag. It felt a little palette-heavy, but that is pretty unusual for this subscription, in my experience. There wasn't really a product this month that left me with that "over the moon" sort of feeling you get when you discover something you really, really love in a delivery, but there was nothing bad here either. I am hoping for a little more of a WOW next month.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I never got my June bag either. I reported it to customer service. They said all my add ons and my choices were out of stock, but the would send me a new bag with what they chose. It finally arrived full of cheap garbage products I never would have chosen. They need to find a new shipping company. DSL is garbage. The July bag is being shipped by them as well and it is already marked missent and it missing. 🙄

I have the SSS body creme in Hay Ho, and it is definitely not a runny product. It is thick and dreamy soft with a fabulous just cut hayfield scent. I believe your jar must have suffered from warehouse and transport heat. SSS has fabulous products.

I love that Hay Ho body cream, and also the hand soap. What a great scent! I find that I can hardly smell the Geranimo, though, but it’s still a nice cream. I also received it in this bag, and it wasn’t runny at all. So, yes, maybe Megan’s had an issue.

It is my favorite scent! SSS needs a body spray in Hay Ho!
