Candy Club is a candy subscription that sends high end candy to you each month. Each delivery contains six different types of candy based on your "candy profile" that you choose when signing up. You get to select “mostly sweet” or “mostly sour.” I chose the sour version!

The candy comes in six separate 6-ounce (by volume) containers. The weight varies based on the type of candy.

This box was paid for by the author. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of Candy Club’s "mostly sour" Fun Box that costs $29.99/month plus $9.99 shipping.

Currently there is a fantastic deal if you join Candy Club’s mailing list. Receive $15 off and FREE shipping on your first box. What a sweet deal!

First Impressions

My box didn’t come with an insert to explain anything about the candies. But each container does list where the candy was made. So I was excited to try candies from all over the globe!

I should note that my box arrived with only 4 containers of candy. I emailed customer service and they explained that it should have contained 6. Not only were they happy to send me the missing candies, when I admitted that I didn’t like two of the ones I received, they sent a whole new box (of 6)! Candy Club boasts an impressive “love your candy guarantee:” if you don’t like one of your candies, simply email customer service for a replacement.

While a normal box will contain 6 cups, because of Candy Club’s exceptional customer service, I wound up with 10 cups of candy. This is a review of each of them.

Time For A Sugar Rush!

Grapefruit Drops - 8 oz - Made In The USA

While these aren’t what I’d call sour, they’re actually the perfect combination of sweet and tangy! They have an interesting texture. As you bite, they start with a crisp, sweet shell and then they have a chewy and almost marshmallowy consistency with a pleasantly tart grapefruit flavor. Delightful!

Blue Bottles - 7 oz - Made In The Netherlands

These gummies are super soft, squishy and sour: the perfect combo! They have a nice, tangy blue raspberry flavor too. And while the flavor is nice, it’s the softness of the gummy that makes it unique. Definitely a favorite!

Pineapple Rings - 7 oz - Made In Spain

The container describes these candies as: “Bright, tropical pineapple refreshment in every chewy bite.”

I REALLY wanted to like these because I love pineapple. However, at first bite, I wasn’t sure that I did. But as I kept chewing, I could taste the tangy brightness of pineapple blooming on my tongue and they grew on me. While I do like them, since I have so much wonderful candy to choose from, I’ll be sharing these with my gal pals.

Wild Cherry Belts - 5 oz - Made In The Netherlands

These red ribbons of super sour cherry flavor are probably my favorite candy of the bunch. They’re very thin and several inches long. Because of this, they’re fun to eat. They’re definitely the most sour candy in the box; they’re completely coated in sour sugar. Yum!

Black Cherry Sours - 8 oz - Made In The USA

I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of these candies. They have the same lovely texture as the grapefruit drops, but they’re supposed to taste like black cherries. Supposed to. I’m not sure how to describe the taste, but I know that I don't like it and I will be gifting it to my brother-in-law!

S’mores Taffy - 3 oz - Made In The USA

Unfortunately, this is another candy that I dislike. I love taffy, but the flavor of these was not to my taste. The piece I tried tasted of graham crackers and what I suspect was supposed to be chocolate.

Wondering if it was just me, I gave the container to my mother. She definitely tasted the graham cracker but she liked the flavor – so maybe it’s just me!

Dragon Eggs - 8 oz - Made In The USA

These are absolutely fabulous! They have the same texture as the grapefruit drops, but they’re even more delicious! Watermelon is the perfect flavor for summer, so I’m super excited to get these in my box. I’ll definitely be buying more of these tangy treats!

Rainbow Bites - 6 oz - Made In Italy

I didn’t really care for this candy; the concept seems bizarre to me. It combines sour fruitiness with creamy vanilla. Not a combination I’ve ever imagined, and after tasting it, I can see why not.

Sour Pink Cadillacs - 7 oz - Made In The Netherlands

This is the last of the 4 candies that I didn't enjoy. But liking 6 out of 10 is pretty good! It had the usual sour gummy feel, and shaped like adorable pink Cadillacs, but the flavor seemed off a bit. Another container for my brother-in-law to enjoy, hopefully – candy is a terrible thing to waste!

Dolphin Buddies - 6 oz - Made In Spain

How adorable are these little guys? Almost too cute to eat. Almost! They have a squishy feel and a light sour raspberry flavor. I wish they were just a little more sour, but they’re perfect to decorate each cake plate at my sunset pool birthday party next month!

The Verdict

This is my first month as a subscriber to Candy Club. If you don’t want to commit to a subscription or you want even more candy, you can now buy individual containers of these (and many more) fabulous candies. They’re available in both a 6- and a 13-ounce size. 6-ounce containers retail for $7-9, and 13-ounce cups are $12.

The total retail value of a 6-cup box is $42. Subscribing only saves you $2.02 since shipping (on individual cups) is free on orders over $40.

Knowing this, I’ll probably cancel my subscription and just buy 6 individual cups at a time. That way I’ll be able to pick each of my candies. Not to mention that I don’t really need to eat 6 cups of candy in a single month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the August box. Sign up any time; the box automatically renews and bills every month on the day you signed up.

Value Breakdown: The box cost $29.99 plus $9.99 shipping which means each of the 6 items costs $6.66. To buy individually, they would be $7 each.

I think most of these sound delicious. What a fun subscription! That’s awesome about their customer service as well.

I miss the chocolate club.

Interesting, I didn’t realize they sourced their candies from other countries.

Love the idea, but not my fave candies. What I need is a cotton candy of the month club instead!

The author definitely had different opinions on the various candies, but she did exclaim how much she liked some of them. It seems that calling them gross insults her personal tastes.
