Sensory TheraPlay Box is a monthly subscription service for children on the autism spectrum, or with sensory processing issues. Each box is filled with sensory toys or games that help develop motor skills or address varying sensory needs through therapeutic play. We always love the fun and unique items they send each month!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This month's box was stuffed full of fun items!

What's Inside This Box

Each box comes with a one-page insert with photos of the items on the front and a brief description with their values on the back. It also includes contact information and a disclaimer about how it is the responsibility of the adult to determine whether the items included are appropriate for the child. As someone with a Special Education background, I love that they include this since every child is unique and responds to various stimuli in different ways! There are some items that may not be appropriate for every child depending on those needs.

This month they included a thank you card and two motivational cards for us. I really love the one from "On the Night You Were Born." It's one of the sweetest books and has such a good message!

Life on Earth Memory and Matching Game by Eeboo - Retail Value $19.99 (found here for $17.99)

First up, we have this great memory and matching game. Somehow these never seem to get old for my kids and this one is especially exciting with the "Life on Earth" theme that included animals and plants. The illustrations are cute and the colors are vibrant and fun. I also really love this brand, Eeboo, and its high-quality games and puzzles! There were a total of 24 matches to be made, so it was quite a big set of cards. I loved that all of my big kids could play together despite their being different ages. Although my daughter (the oldest) did seem to clean up pretty well in the first round!

Bag O' Dirt by Play Visions - Retail Value $9.99

My kids loved this play dirt! I thought it was s cute that it came with some little tools to use in it, too. This stuff is fun to play with since it is super soft, and it's fairly easy to clean up. You can mash it together and mold it or bury stuff inside to find. The dirt moves a little bit when you pile it up which adds to the fun and makes it even more visually appealing.

Stretch! Snakes by Club Earth - Retail Value $2.89

These colorful stretchy snakes were a hit! They are just small enough to take anywhere and perfect for burying in our new bag of dirt. They are stretchy and not slimy, and each snake is just a bit different from the others.

Wacky Tracks by Toysmith  - Listed Value $6.99

We have received this item before and it is one of my favorites! These wacky tracks can bend and move and you can even challenge yourself to get some right angles out of it. These are so fun to have for long car trips to fidget with and I was able to easily open ours to add to the existing set we have to make an even longer track!

Mega Stretch Frog by Club Earth - Retail Value $6.00

This frog is somewhat realistic and totally appealed to my animal loving kiddos. His legs are stretchy but his body is a bit more firm. They loved reading about him on the back of the box it came in. He has easily been a favorite this month!

Squish Kitty by Toysmith - Retail Value $5.00

This last item is a cute little Pusheen-looking kitty that is super squishy. He has a shaving-cream like substance inside and his rubbery body is soft and squishy too. I think we all just love his happy little face!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $42.00 + shipping (Save with longer subscriptions)

The total retail value of our box using a mix of listed and found retail values comes to $50.86, which just about breaks even when you consider shipping costs. While this box doesn't have an incredible value, the curation is always fun and certainly adds some value to the experience for us!

Key Takeaways

My kids had so much fun with this month's toys and I thought there was a great mix of items to appeal to different senses!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
