Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box, the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy.

Each month comes with an info sheet, and the other side of the info sheet always features a new art print.

The Breakdown - What's Inside My May 2022 Petit Vour Box

Studio Botanic Face Cream, 50 mL - Retail Value $32

I am personally of the belief that more moisturizers should come in aluminum tubes like this one instead of jars, so right off the bat, I was pleased to see this brand's choice of packaging. I've never tried Studio Botanic before, and I found the formula of this moisturizer to be very nourishing and hydrating to my skin. This is made with a few waxes along with oils and butters (shea butter, olive oil, wax from an evergreen tree...), but it wasn't too heavy or sticky on my face while still leaving my skin pleasantly soft.

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara, 7.5 mL - Retail Value $18.99

This mascara is designed to lengthen your lashes while also conditioning them thanks to the nourishing formula. It's ideal for sensitive eyes because it's free from artificial colors, preservatives, and fragrances, and all ingredients in the formula are organic. I would say that this mascara did give me length, but I also need a bit of curl from a mascara which this sadly could not provide.

Here I am wearing it on one eye (in not fabulous hotel lighting; sorry). You can see that it did give me a bit of length (it's especially noticeable on my bottom lashes), but even after multiple coats, this mascara couldn't be worked up beyond the natural finish you see here.

Meow Meow Tweet Natural Deodorant Cream, 2.4 oz - Retail Value $14

I like my deodorant paired with antiperspirant, but I was still really curious about this deodorant cream simply for the fact I've never tried something like it before. It had a firmer texture than I was expecting so it wasn't as easy to apply to my underarms due to the balmy texture, but I liked the zesty tea tree scent. If you're sensitive to baking soda this isn't the deodorant for you, however, as that's one of the primary ingredients along with arrowroot powder and kaolin clay.

Ellis Brooklyn Fawn Eau de Parfum, 1 mL - Estimated Value $2.10 (buy the 50 mL version for $105)

So far, I have enjoyed every Ellis Brooklyn perfume I've tried. A previous Petit Vour box contained a different Ellis Brooklyn sample, and I was happy to see the brand pop up again in my box. Honestly, if I was able to try every fragrance Ellis Brooklyn makes through my Petit Vour box, I would genuinely be a happy camper. Fawn has notes of neroli, sicilian bergamot, damask rose, coconut milk, and vanilla musk. Smelling it evokes the feeling of being on a beach, where the sun has kissed your skin and the breeze floats floral notes through the air. I found it to be a beautiful fragrance that's perfect for summer, and I can see myself having this sample empty soon.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Cost Breakdown:

  • Studio Botanic: $32 → $8.58
  • Harvest Natural Beauty: $18.99 → $5.10
  • Meow Meow Tweet: $14 → $3.75
  • Ellis Brooklyn: $2.10 → $0.56

Everything in the box adds up to $67.09, which is awesome for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

I thought this box from Petit Vour was fabulous- I really enjoyed getting to try out a new Ellis Brooklyn scent and getting introduced to the Studio Botanic brand for the first time with a full size moisturizer (that alone is worth more than the cost of the box). The mascara may not have been a perfect fit for me and the deodorant may not be something I reach for often, but I love that they were both full-size items. Three full-size vegan beauty products in this box is a great deal! Petit Vour does a good job of sending out well-rounded boxes with nice values for under $20, and I appreciate the effort they put in each month (it never feels like filler products have been put in my box the way it can with other subscriptions). If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.

Meow Meow Tweet is the only natural deodorant I’ve found that worked pretty well for me. I still prefer standard deos with antiperspirant, but for someone looking for a natural one, I’d recommend it.
