GlossyBox is a beauty subscription that sends five deluxe and full-size products to your door every month for $21 (with free shipping to the U.S.). You should expect to discover new brands of hair care, makeup, and skincare in each box, wrapped up nicely with a different theme each time.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

FYI: GlossyBox sometimes sends out multiple variations of the box during some months, so there may be some variation between what we review and what you receive.

First Impressions

What a pretty box! I love the detail put into this month’s unique packaging. The top of this month’s box doubles as a mirror, which I think is fabulous. I enjoy how it makes the box even more reusable. The color scheme is giving me bright, happy spring vibes, and I’m excited to see what products have been selected for the curation.

Each month GlossyBox usually arrives with a booklet that includes a list of all the products included in that month's box. Also included was a page of cute stickers!

What's Inside The Box

ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Energizing Marine Cleanser, 30 ml - Retail Value $18.00

I’m no stranger to Elemis products. I’ve had the opportunity to try this Pro-Collagen Energizing Marine Cleanser in the past, and I am more than thrilled to have another of these to add to my skincare stash. In fact, I have a trip coming up, and this will be the very cleanser I choose to take along with me. Having used it before, I know that it will not disappoint. The cleanser has a luxurious gel texture that generates a soft, rich lather, easily washing away makeup residue and grime from the day, without leaving the skin feeling stripped or dry. I love how well this cleanser cleans. Usually with a cleanser that cleans so thoroughly, I tend to experience some issues with dryness; but that is definitely not the case with this cleanser. The formula is packed with minerals zinc, magnesium, and copper, along with a trio of acids for anti-aging to leave my skin looking fresh and rejuvenated. Bonus points for the inclusion of padina pavonica, a Mediterranean brown algae that boosts hydration. I love how well my skin responds to the formula in this cleanser; it is by far one of my favorites out there.

MARIA NILA Invisidry Shampoo, 60 ml - Estimated Retail Value $13.20

Well, well, well, dry shampoo… This type of product does not usually work for my very thick, curly hair. Those with hair similar to mine will understand, but for those who aren’t familiar, my hair craves oil. While some people are always looking for the best products to rid their hair of oil, I instead am always looking for the best products to keep my hair moisturized. That said, I did give this dry shampoo a bit of a spray just to see what it was all about. It has a lovely fruity scent that I personally find delightful. I can also confirm that it is indeed invisible upon application. The size of the spray is a bit on the small side, but that makes it perfect for travel, and it appears to contain enough product to sustain multiple uses, which I appreciate. I will, however, be passing along this dry shampoo to one of my finer-haired friends who is sure to get some great use out of it.

DAILY CONCEPTS Daily Body Scrubber, 1 package - Retail Value $10.00

I know this is a pretty basic item, but I’m really happy to have this. Here’s another item that’s perfect for travel, and I appreciate that. This Daily Body Scrubber from Daily Concepts comes in its own little reusable packaging. With the included suction cup, the packaging turns into a shower caddy that can be used for the life of the product (approximately 90 days) and conveniently hung on any smooth surface. The scrubber itself is made with a soft natural organic cotton surface and has a soy-based core that creates a rich later when used in combination with body wash. Something I really enjoy is that this product is now biodegradable, thanks to the new patented Eco-Logic technology. Always be sure to thoroughly rinse off the soap and squeeze out the water after use in order to maintain the full life of this product, and keep an eye on the label too. This product has ‘smart label technology,’ which means that when the label fades, it is time to replace your scrubber!

THE BEAUTY CROP B.F.F. Brow Mascara - Grow and Groom Brow Gel, 4 ml - Retail Value $8.99

Oooh, I love a clear brow gel! I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I’m interested to see how their gel treats my brows over time. The formula contains both castor oil and Vitamin E. The oil contributes to thicker, more lustrous brows, while the Vitamin E nourishes and creates volume for the brows, simultaneously keeping them tame. I am a fan of thicker, more bold brows in recent years, and with bolder brows comes more potential for them to become a bit wily. Because of that, I love using this gel on a regular basis. It’s just the thing to keep every single hair in place. I’m excited to see if my brows will look thicker after some consistent use of this product. I am missing a patch of hair on one of my brows due to a plucking disaster when I was young, and I’m hoping that this gel’s properties will work on filling it in naturally. Only time will tell.

ACEOLOGY Rose Petal Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Retail Value $15.92

Front of Aceology Rose Petal Mask for GlossyBox May 2022

I’m usually a sheet mask only kind of gal… But I’ve been trying to amp up my wash-off masking routine as of late, so this Rose Petal Mask from Aceology came in the nick of time. I have enjoyed products from this brand in the past, and their products are definitely high quality, so I’m happy to have this. This mask has a lightweight gel texture, which I enjoy, and the formula is made up of predominantly rosewater to boost suppleness and soothe red or irritated skin, combined with blueberry extract to protect from free radical damage and niacinamide to prevent dryness. One of the highlights of this product for me is its two-fold usage. It can be used as a treatment twice weekly or daily as an overnight mask. I used this as an overnight mask, and when I washed it off the next morning, I was thrilled to see that it left behind hydrated, silky-soft skin. I also love how the product comes housed in a recyclable sugarcane tube.

Verdict

I really thought this was a great month for GlossyBox! The Elemis cleanser is a win for me all the way. I love how thoroughly it cleans without leaving my skin feeling stripped. Another welcome addition to my travel bag is the Daily Concepts body scrubber. Its built-in shower caddy via the reusable packaging is a bonus, as is the suction cup for easy hanging. I’m thrilled to have the clear brow gel from The Beauty Crop. It’s a daily staple that I use frequently and can never have enough of. Aceology’s rose petal mask is a wonderful product, and although I’m usually averse to wash-off masks, the fact that this can be used as an overnight mask makes it much better suited to my lifestyle, and I appreciate it. Lastly, the dry shampoo from Maria Nila… Even though this isn’t a product for me, as far as I can tell, it does what would be expected of it. I am happy to be passing it along to a friend of mine, who will get great use out of it. Overall, this month’s GlossyBox had a diverse array of products including some travel-centric products, and the value is there.

I have a LOT of fine, straight hair and cannot use dry shampoo. It doesn’t get between the strands and doesn’t leave it feeling clean. It actually leaves it feeling gunky and weighed down. I don’t know who dry shampoo is made for, honestly.
