First Impressions

We received this little card describing this month's theme of "Hidden Treasures" and it gave us a breakdown of the four items inside. I was excited to see two bath items in this box!

What's Inside This Box

"Golden Nectar" Body Butter Scrub

Golden Nectar is a blend of sweet honeysuckle, peach, orange blossom, honey, vanilla bean, and sapodilla. This scrub is unique since it's a body butter scrub, which was kind of like a whipped or liquid lotion consistency with a light bit of exfoliation in it. It felt great on my skin and definitely left it feeling hydrated after using it, leaving behind the faintest scent of florals and a bit of fruit and honey sweetness.

"Coconut Palm" Sea Salt Soak

I love a good sea salt soak and this one delivered! This was a blend of custard apple, muskmelon, sugar magnolia, coconut water, and sea salt. It was very relaxing and the scent had just a hint of fruit to it. My skin was definitely softer and lightly scented, even the next day.

"Cockleshell" Perfume Oil Roller, 10 ml - Listed Value $20

Our perfume roller this month is a blend of pink pepper, jasmine, ylang-ylang, black orchid, musk, vanilla, patchouli, guaiac wood, and mahogany. I mostly get notes of the pink pepper, patchouli, jasmine, and vanilla. It's a bit of sharp spice that ends on a sweet note. It's a very unique and beautiful scent that could easily be layered. I really wish this was our perfume spray scent since those tend to have a stronger throw!

"Tradewinds" Perfume Spray, 1 oz - Listed Value $39

This perfume spray is a combination of pomegranate, Arabian rose, red clay, cedarwood, creme de cassis, terracotta amber, palo santo, and musk. It's very rare that there is a scent from Wicked Good that is a miss for me, but sadly this was one of those times. This did not work well with my body chemistry and my family also remarked about their dislike for the scent. I get a lot of the pomegranate, creme de cassis, and amber notes which I like, but I think the musk overpowers those and it ended up being too strong of a scent for me.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The listed values of both the perfume spray and roller come to $59, which is $26 over the cost of this month's box. That's an average of about $8.25 for each of the 4 items.

Key Takeaways

While the perfume spray was a big miss for me this month, everything else was lovely and I certainly enjoyed pampering myself with that soak and the scrub!

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I purchased a six month subscription to Wicked Good after reading your past reviews. I love perfumes and am a fan of Fortune Cookie Soap. This sub box has a more grown up feel, with more sophisticated scents and elegant packaging, in my opinion. Unfortunately, this month was a dud for me. The rollerball scent was very weak on my skin, no staying power at all, while the trade winds spray sent my family running for the hills. I enjoyed the scent, but can’t wear it around anyone in my house. Bummer. The other two products were lovely. Overall it’s still a fantastic sub box for anyone who enjoys quality scents. I like the different variety of items each month.

Thanks so much for sharing such a thorough description of your experience, Penny! While I’m sorry you won’t be able to wear it, I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one whose family had an aversion to the spray! lol. Hopefully, next month will be a great one for you to enjoy! 🙂

Brandi, I was eyeing this sub for the longest time and your reviews were what convinced me to finally jump in for six months. I passed the Trade Winds spray along to a friend who enjoyed the unusual combination. My subscription ends in July and I will probably renew in order to see what’s in store for the autumn months, my favorite time of year. Thanks for the helpful reviews and I for one hope to see more of them in the future.

I’ve been eyeing this box and wonder if they offer spoilers and a skip option if you don’t like what you see?

Snow

It’s been awhile since I was subscribed, but I never remember seeing spoilers ahead of time. Honestly, that is what made this subscription more unique; the actual surprise of what is inside. If a person is adventurous and open-minded with their perfume choices, then this is a fantastic choice.

Lisa, I’ve been subscribed for over 6 months now. I’m still not sure if there’s the option to skip, but Wicked Good does have a responsive team/owner on their FB page.

Hi Lisa! You can “skip, change, or cancel any time” with this subscription, and as Cc said, the owner has been very responsive in the past when I’ve reached out. I have not seen spoilers for this box before, but I agree with Snow in that it is great for anyone who is open-minded with their perfume choices! Out of all the months I have subscribed I think there have maybe been 3 or 4 scents that I didn’t care for which is pretty good considering there are 4 different scents each month. I hope that is helpful! 🙂
