Vellabox is a monthly candle subscription! Every month they send you quality, small-batch, toxin-free, hand-poured candles. Late in 2021 the brand’s pricing structure changed: Monthly and 3-month subscribers will now pay $18 for a 4 oz. candle and free gift; $28 for an 8 oz. candle and free gift; or $38 for a 16 oz. candle and gift. Subscribers are also now able to customize their box to their scent preferences and receive candles curated for them.

This is my second Vellabox, and I was so excited when this cute little box arrived! The candle itself comes in a cute little canvas bag, plus there's a pretty sizable surprise "sample," as well as cards packed in with information about my candle, best ways to burn, and the candle's makers.
What's Inside the Box
Hyde Nor Hare Camellia — Retail Value $20.00
This month you could have received Santino, Camellia, or Rain Water. These candles are all hand-poured in small batches in Connecticut and have a 40-hour burn time. They are made with 100% soy wax, they're vegan, and they have raw wicks that are made of cotton and paper. This scent is actually really beautiful! It has a citrus kick to it without being overpowering. It feels very light and bright, if happy had a smell this would be it. I love burning this candle in my bedroom during the day because it fills our entire upstairs with layers of white tea buds, thyme, ginger, bergamot, and mandarin.
I love that the box comes with information about the featured candle brand, which this month is Hyde Nor Hare, and highlights each scent you could have received.
Now for the secret item!
The Propagation Cone – Retail Value $18
This month's surprise item is something I have never seen before. The cone is created to encourage the reuse of your candle jars, something I really need to start doing. Once your candle is done, you just need to remove the wick and clean out the wax. Then you can fill the jar with water, place the cone on the top of the jar, and rest your plant cutting at the center of the hole and submerge the stem into the water. From there you can watch your plant grow and then transfer it to soil when the root has grown about 1 or 2 inches. I do not have a green thumb at all, but this sounds easy enough for me to try! Plus it sounds like a fun activity that I could do with my kids.
Was This Box Worth It?
The Cost: $28
Vellabox is such a fun way to add candles to your collection! I love that each month's candle is taking me out of my standard candle selections. I really loved the Camellia candle that I received. It has a blend of refreshing scents without coming across as overly sweet or fruity. The plant cone is not something that I'm overly pumped about, but that is only because I cannot keep any plant alive ever. So I am always so hesitant to bring plants into the house, but I know that this is an activity that my kiddos would really love to do. Overall, this was a fun box that felt very bright and spring forward.
