Riverdale's Madelaine Petsch is the curator for the May 2022 Ipsy Glam Bag X--and we've finally got the full set of spoilers.

“Self-care is hugely important to me and was the biggest inspiration behind my Glam Bag X collection,” says Madelaine. “It’s the time that I take to truly work on my emotional, mental, and physical health, and beauty is a major part of my self-care routine.”

Petsch has chosen full-size products that are all cruelty-free. Subscribers will receive eight of them.

Today, Ipsy shared the final three possible products:

  • FIRST AID BEAUTY Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner, Retail Value $24
  • OLIVIA PALERMO BEAUTY Prime Time Illuminating Serum, $40
  • VITABRID C12 Hair Tonic Professional, $80

On 4/18 we shared:

  • SATURDAY SKIN Rise + Shine Gentle Cleanser, Value $26
  • GOLDFADEN MD Plant Profusion Night Cream, $92.50 for 1.7 oz/50ml
  • DEW OF THE GODS Claydate Healing Face Mask, $42

  • ONE/SIZE Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder, Retail Value $30
  • KVD VEGAN BEAUTY Tattoo Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, $23

On 4/14 we revealed the bag design:

cr: Ipsy

We've also got new spoilers--last night on Instagram (4/13), along with the three new spoilers below, Ipsy included Keys Soulcare Sheer Flush Cheek Tint in the colors Grace and Liberation. However, that post has been removed (MSA forum user ebbgirls captured it here.)

Here are the three new spoilers:

cr: Ipsy

  • WANDER BEAUTY Glow Ahead Illuminating Face Oil, Retail Value $42
  • BITE BEAUTY Upswing Full Volume Mascara in Solid Black, $28
  • NUDESTIX Tinted Cover Foundation, $36

On 4/11 we shared the first four spoilers:

1. SAINT JANE BEAUTY Luxury Body Serum

Retail Value: $58

“This is the perfect product to help nourish and smooth your skin from the neck down,” says Petsch. “You can use it like a body lotion on dry or damp skin, but I love to level up bath time by adding a few drops to my tub.”

2. TARTE Creaseless Concealer

Retail Value: $27

“This full-coverage concealer is my secret weapon for looking wide-awake after a late night. I apply it after eye cream, and my dark circles basically disappear," says Petsch.

3. SUNDAY RILEY Pink Drink Firming Resurfacing Essence

Retail Value: $48 according to Ipsy (updated!)

“The first step in my skincare routine? This multitasking face mist that helps resurface, balance, and firm my skin," says Petsch. "I also keep a spare in my car to refresh and rehydrate throughout the day."

4. ICONIC LONDON Sunset To Sunrise Eyeshadow Palette

Retail Value: $62 (acc to Ipsy)

“Not only are the shades in this palette totally gorgeous, they’re super pigmented and easy to blend, too. I like to dampen my brush with water or setting spray to create full-coverage liquid shadows that also work as liners," says Petsch.

An Ipsy ad also revealed the following additional spoilers:

  • SONAGE Baby Frioz Icy Globes
  • KEYS SOULCARE Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum
  • LORD JONES CBD Lip Balm
  • PINROSE Wild Child eau du parfum
  • NCLA BEAUTY Sugar, Sugar Lip Scrub
  • REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm
  • BAUBLEBAR Earrings
  • COMPLEX CULTURE Lipstick

Ipsy places the value of this bag at up to $500.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I am SO glad I canceled. The glam bag plus bags are nothing but a years worth of leftovers. The x bag looks pretty disappointing. I have been so much happier using that saved money to treat myself to a mini splurge every month. Sorry ipsy, got tired of the questionnaire being useless and the customer service non existent.

I was going to cancel but I liked the bag so much I didn’t. Glad I didn’t it was my favorite X so far for me. I got the First Aid toner, Goldfaden MD night cream, Olivia Serum, Tarte which is the only thing I won’t use, TYS Lip treat, Babe lash, Pin rose, the bag.

I had such high hopes. Did “Anyone” get the $80. Shampoo??? My Choices were less than desirable. The only thing I liked out of the 5 picks from Ipsy was the Tarte Concealer, if that’s a know indication of the 3 additional dissapointing items I got to pick from. If Id got the Shampoo or the Saint Jane oil I’d been more than happy, but I got neither. Nor was it available as an add on. From my experience it’s been a trend of one great X bag and the next one is wothless. However I do realize you can’t win them all, but its your choice to cancel when you’ve just had enough dissapointment. Are ya hearing me Ipsy???

I was going to cancel and I’m so glad I didn’t!! My bag is amazing – Keys illuminating serum, Sunday Riley, Keys blush, First Aid Beauty, the Saint Jane body serum, Tarte concealer, some hair product and I chose the bag bc it’s so darn pretty!

Jenn

Bag , twins it was a lot of skincare but good stuff!

Reply ButtonReply

Dayan

Ofc I got the effing palette and uber worse selection… Don’t even think the selections really worth the $50+ anymore with all the subpar brands and products…

Reply ButtonReply

Svetlana7e

Same here, so disappointed with the bag, they put worst product there:
– KVD black eye liner
– some unknown clay mask
– saturday skin cleanser
– wen illuminating face oil
– iconic london palette
Worst bag ever.

Dayan

Debating if I should give it one more try or just cancel now… 😕
Got lip scrub set, same awful palette, same unknown clay mask, same wander oil, concealer. And ofc the stuff I want to choose all in same category…

rayveniael

is anyone else able to pick their choice? wasnt it today? I got the email but it wont let me pick on phone or pc

Wendy

For glam bag only. The site was being glitchy so just keep trying. GBP and GBX choice will be next week.

Reply ButtonReply

Angela Marie DeSilva

When is choice for glam bag plus and this X box?

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

May 2nd I believe

Jessica Hapak

My dream glam bag X box would include the FAB toner (I adore this stuff), the KVD liner, the Sunday Riley pink drink essence, the bite mascara, and if I need something to round it out than the Saint Jane serum. I feel like some boxes will have products other than what’s listed here though- at least compared to what was available in previous boxes

JRose

May spoilers looks so good I decided to subscribe for X bag. Fingers🤞 I hope to get the must have products for me. At 55 dollars I don’t think I will subscribe for long.

Aside from the pallete, I like most of the spoilers. Sunday Riley works very well for my combo skin (some of their products are HG for me) and the Saint Jane serum looks luxurious. I have very sensitive skin (body/eczema) and body oils are my newest obsession with keeping my legs calm after shaving. Really debating this one!

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

If you have sensitive skin that first aid beauty oat toner is absolutely DREAMY! I love it

Reply ButtonReply

AutumnP

Wow. For $50, I am not saying the value isn’t there…But for ME, personally, I would rather take the 50 & spend on 2-4 items I specifically wanted/needed/would def use. Idk, I guess everyone’s needs are different. But, I haven’t been too impressed by this box since like the 1st/2nd ones.

Karol

OK, first, don’t drag Madeline Petsch, She’s a national treasure. If she wants to savor a bottle of beautifully crafted oil by putting drops into a bath let her and everybody else who would like to do the same alone. Also the palette is powdery, but the colors and finishes are great. You have surely gotten a hundred brush sets from Ipsy by now. Pick the short, kind of rough one to pick up and apply the color and the super fluffy longer one to blend it. Above all, remember that you’re paying $35 for hundreds in products. At the end of the day, if you’ve gotten $35 worth, you’re ahead,

Valerie

National Treasure? I’ve never heard of her before this Glam Bag X. A national treasure would be someone like Betty White or Dolly Parton, not some kid half of us have never heard of on some show half of us have never heard of…..no disrespect, but get real….

Reply ButtonReply

JenniferRosa

The bag is $55 with tax I believe $597

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Who is Madeline Petsch?!

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan

She is on the show Riverdale, she plays Cheryl Blossom.

Kelly

Happy with Madelaine Petsch as the curator! There are some solid choices.

Reply ButtonReply

zo

Is that a 2-part bag? I don’t sub to X but I really want that bag. Do they offer bags as an add-on for other ipsy subs?

Reply ButtonReply

Sav

In the past the bag has been a choice item.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber )-(

They sometimes use the X bags for mystery bags later on, but I’ve never seen them as add-ons.

Reply ButtonReply

Vi

Zo, I really want that bag too and I don’t sub to X either. It’s absolutely beautiful. I would definitely buy it if they offer it as an add-on.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

The top she’s wearing in the second picture horrifies me on multiple levels. LOL.

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

It kind of gives me ‘Jetson’ vibes 🛸

Reply ButtonReply

Carol

LOL, that palette is powdery.

Reply ButtonReply

"MIMI" Laurie Buckley-Robert

I hope like heck I don’t get that old played out palette!!! I have 3 in all versions thanks to BoxyCharm!!! Ofcourse she needs to use water with it because there’s no color pay off!!! That palette is HORRIBLE!!! COME ON IPSY!!! Step up and give the ppl what they want or step out of the game!!! Ive been with Ipsy since their 1st glambag and I’m still waiting for them to ful fill their promises!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

They’re not going to be better. So glad I got out of their game and gamble.

Reply ButtonReply

Mimilaurie66

I hope like heck that Icinic eyeshadow palette is NOT in my GLAMBAGX!!! I have 3 of them thanks to Boxycharm!!! The palette itself is horrible!!! All its versions!!! No pigment!!! Out dated!!! I am getting so fed up with the garbage products!!! Lets get some Curators who are VERY well known please. You go from ABH & Huda to… Come on Ipsy give ppl what they’re looking for or get out the game!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

I wouldn’t say the palette is horrible, may be just not your taste. I have the palette and it’s fine but my friend absolutely loves it. Not everyone wants bam, in your face, hard to blend pigment or full on shimmer. Some love a wash or color and nice satin finish which is on trend and this palette provides. You’ve got 2 separate, similar comments with different names and multiple response comments on this thread, we get it you don’t like Iconic London or Ipsy apparently

Reply ButtonReply

"MIMI" Laurie Buckley-Robert

It’s an old palette and I have THREE in each version!!! It’s a repeat item!!! Im definitely NOT an in your face makeup wearer by no means!!! Im a seasoned makeup wearer and really don’t need ANOTHER one of these!!! Maybe you’re unaware that Ipsy & Boxy are bouncing products back and forth…

Angela Marie DeSilva

The eyeshadow palette is a repeat item and the rest doesn’t interest me glad I cancelled glam bag X.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

I got the palette from Boxy (before Ipsy bought them) a long time ago but I don’t remember seeing it in Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Mimilaurie66

I hear ya!!! That palette is a old flop!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Cheryl

Sorry to be off topic here, but are we ever going to see spoilers and a bag reveal for the May Glam Bag Plus? The absence of any information seems really fishy.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

I’ve noticed spoilers are getting later and later for both Ipsy and Boxycharm and we aren’t getting as many. It used to be by mid month we’d know almost all spoilers for both boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Cheryl

I remember we used to get the bag reveal and first batch of spoilers for next month’s regular Glam Bag and Glam Bag Plus on the first of the month–the day before Plus Choice opened on the 2nd for the current month’s bag. Obviously not happening this month. I’m skipping unless I can get an idea of what I might receive.

Yessy

I have been thinking the exact same thing. I am curious what may is going to look like before I decide to cancel or stay. I do love my April bag but I do not like last minute spoilers.

Reply ButtonReply

Gabrielle

Yawn. Nothing in this box excites me a bit. Still not regretting that I waved goodbye to Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Just want to double check here – in order to be able to upgrade to the May GBX, I need to subscribe in April, right? (Alternatively/additionally) If I subscribe now, will I get the upgrade option for May or is it too late?

Reply ButtonReply

D Green

They offered the upgrade to Glam Bag X all the way until the end of the month in Nov and Feb. So you don’t have to subscribe for April necessarily but if you want to be able to choose some of your products you’ll need to subscribe to the regular GB or GB Plus (you can upgrade either if you only want one subscription on the non-GBX months) by May 1st and immediately request GBX on the site or app (once you’re subscribed the next time you log into your account via the app or browser you’ll either see a pop up with the GBX upgrade offer or the initial page will contain the option to upgrade with one click.)
You could actually subscribe and upgrade later in the month (all month long if they don’t do things any differently than the past two GBX months) but I don’t think you’ll be able to choose any of your products until the next time. Of course I may be wrong about some of this or they may decide to do things differently this time around but I’m pretty sure this is how it works. Hope this helps.

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

Thank you so much! I just signed up and did the upgrade, my first bag will be the glam bag x in May and then my first regular bag will be in June.

JennWin1980

If the Sunday Riley Pink Drink is only worth $27, that means it’s not the full size 😭 Full size is $48. Bummer!

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

I think that might be a misprint. I saw another site listed the retail as $48. I’m curious too

Reply ButtonReply

Annette

on the ipsy site it lists the full size SR item with the $48 value in the spoilers

Reply ButtonReply

Whitney Earl

That is one of my main reasons for canceling X. They promise full size, but don’t deliver on that. That’s the only item that interests me, yet I NEVER get the 1 hero item in the GB X and I’ve been an ipsy subscriber for 9 years. Maybe the new subscribers are getting the better products. I always change my profile to get these specific items and I never get them. But you’re absolutely right, it’s not the full size.

Reply ButtonReply

Mimilaurie66

I’ve been with Ipsy since their first glambag!!! Still waiting for the improvements they promise…

Robyn

Your link at the end takes you to Allure.

Fixed, thanks so much Robyn.

Julia

Complex Culture is ipsy’s house brand. Why is it in Glam Bag X? They stuff it enough into the Glam Bag Plus.

If Petsch uses the Saint Jane serum as a body lotion and drips it into her bath water, then it’s not a serum, it’s an oil. So sick of companies that call a product “serum” when it’s actually an oil and not a serum. My face needs less oil, not more. Hope they don’t choose it for me just because I love real serums and rate them high in my profile.

Reply ButtonReply

mia

Putting a few drops of fat very expensive body serum into a tub full of bath water is just plain wasteful… unless you’re super wealthy and can afford to do things like that. A few drops of serum won’t make a difference in a tub full of water. Better to use it directly on them skin.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

I don’t think I’d call it an oil, it’s not greasy, not sure I’d say a serum either but it smells amazing.

Reply ButtonReply

Kai @ MSA

I had to read Petsch’s comment twice because I’ve never heard of anyone putting serum in their bathwater!

Reply ButtonReply

Roni Bourne

It’s a body serum so i guess that’s why she uses it in the bath.
