The theme for this month’s box is ‘Self-Care Vibes,’ and I’m excited to see what items were selected for this curation.
Each Brown Sugar Box includes a mini-magazine that highlights the theme of the box, lists the products included, and offers interesting and inspiring articles. This month’s box is the 'Self-Care Vibes' edition.
Now, on to the items!
IZZY & LIV Sweet Dreams Satin Pillowcase - Listed Value $15
I’m a bit of a hot sleeper, so I love that one of the benefits of satin pillowcases is temperature regulation to help keep me cool at night in the warmer months. I also think this pillowcase is absolutely adorable. I love the rose gold color and the elegant text, ‘Protecting My Edges,’ on the front. Sleeping on the texture of satin does take a bit of getting used to, for me personally, but I appreciate that satin pillowcases help to fight against hair damage and may help hair lock in natural oils and hydration. Subscribers could have received one of three: Goodnight Brown Sugar, Don’t Disturb This Snooze, or Protecting My Edges. I received ‘Protecting My Edges.’
IZZY & LIV Island Citrus Creamy Dreamy Whipped Soap, 2.5 oz - Listed Value $15
This whipped soap smells absolutely wonderful! It’s a fresh burst of tropical citrus the second you open the container. I love the delightfully light and airy whipped texture. I also found this soap to lather up nicely, creating a luxurious tropical cleansing experience. The product rinses off easily, with no film or soap residue. My skin felt smooth and hydrated and not stripped or dry. The product is formulated with fragrances, so if you have sensitive skin, definitely spot treat before using all over. Subscribers could have received one of three scents: Sweet Vanilla, Lush Lavender, or Island Citrus. I received ‘Island Citrus.’
IZZY & LIV She’s Royalty Vibes Tee - Listed Value $25
The bright purple color of this t-shirt is so fun, and I love the geometric print on the front. It’s a super-soft 100% cotton tee that has a nice fit and is very comfortable and versatile. I can wear it with sweats and bum around the house, or I can throw on a pair of jeans for a more put-together look. We’ve received quite a few t-shirts from this box over time, but I think this is perhaps my favorite one to date, and I’m happy to have it.
IZZY & LIV Glow and Moisturize Dry Body Brush - Listed Value $12
Now, I know dry brushing has a lot of amazing benefits for skin and overall health, but this is definitely not for me. Not this particular dry brush, just dry brushing in general. The feeling of rubbing the bristles against my skin while it was dry felt unpleasant to me. It’s the same reason I had a love/hate relationship with my velour ‘Juicy’ tracksuit in high school. The texture and feel of it against my skin was a bit of a sensory overload, and not in a good way. However, if you’re looking to unclog pores, exfoliate, and detoxify skin and promote circulation, dry brushing is something you might want to try.
IZZY & LIV 'Tropical Beauty' 500-Piece Puzzle - Listed Value $18
Unfortunately, the Luxe Belted Satin Robe was on backorder for this month, so it didn’t arrive in time to be included in this box. But never fear; it will be included in the April 2022 box, and I’m super excited. However, the team at Brown Sugar Box decided to include a bonus item for the inconvenience, worth $18. For the robe, subscribers could have received one of 7 prints: In Her Glory, Soul Sisters, Tribal Beauty, Aquatic Goddess, Brown Skin Queen, Boho Goddess, or Melanin Faces. I’m interested to see which robe selection I receive next month!
This month’s Brown Sugar Box had one of my favorite t-shirts of all-time. I really love the bright pop of color and the bold geometric pattern on the front. The satin pillowcase was another great addition to the curation of this box. It really gave me ‘self-care vibes,’ fitting perfectly with the theme. I also love how sleek and elegant it looks. The whipped soap had a divine airy texture and a juicy tropical scent, perfect for the spring and on theme, which I really appreciate. The dry body brush is sturdy, with dense, firm bristles that will definitely hold up over daily use. Now, even though the feel of it wasn’t for me, I think many a Brown Sugar Box subscriber will get good use from this product. Lastly, we were supposed to receive the belted satin robe, which will be coming in next month’s box; but instead we received a bonus item, which was a 500-piece puzzle. I myself do not have the time, but if you do have the time to put together a 500-piece puzzle, more power to you. Overall, I think this was a solid box, especially with that robe on its way.

The Cost: $39.95 + $5.95 shipping
- Pillowcase: $15

The total value of my box was $85, which is a great value for a $39.95 box. Including the cost of the Satin Robe ($45) in place of the puzzle, the value would be $112!
