Stitch Fix Kids is a personal styling service for kids from Stitch Fix. After filling out a survey, a stylist will pick items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. If you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all items, you also get a 25% discount!) Stitch Fix Kids offers sizes 2T-14.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this Fix. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we conduct reviews.)

First Impressions

Our first box is filled with glittery, pink, unicorn, kitty pieces so I knew it was going to be a hit! Philomena was so excited to try everything on and got right to putting pieces together to make a full look (I was so proud). She did a little fashion show for me and Daddy which we all loved!

What's Inside

Since the kid's boxes come with ten pieces in them, it's always easy to find more than a few great styles each month. My daughter loves clothes and dressing up, so she really enjoyed the process of trying each piece on.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Stitch Fix Kids box. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $252, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $169. That's a savings of $83 on this Fix.

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. Philomena loved seeing this cute note!

Esmee Ruffle Detail Fit and Flare Dress by Bailey Lane, Size XS - Cost to Keep $24

The first item that Philomena reached for was this spring-forward dress. I love the turquoise and flowers with little ruffles on the chest. Spring in Pittsburgh usually isn't super warm, so having this floral number with sleeves is going to be key to staying warm while still wishing for warmer days ahead. Philomena is between toddler sizes and big girls so I was really happy to see that this XS fit her really well. All around just a really soft material that feels very trendy and sweet.

Alyssa Bow Sneaker by Dr. Scholl's, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $34

These feel like the perfect spring shoe. They have a sneaker-like bottom so I feel comfortable having her in them outside to play, plus the inside has nice padding so it seems extremely comfortable. Philomena is still healing from a broken leg so comfortable shoes are key, which is why I was so excited to see these in her fix! The best part for her was the bow detail on the back and the beautiful glittery pink. They match with so many of her outfits and are great to wear with or without socks. These were absolutely a keeper!

Illiana Attached Kitten Purse Dress by Xtraordinary, Size 5T - Cost to Keep $26

This kitten purse has gone everywhere with Philomena since the day she tried it on. It is small enough for a few of her goodies or her "phone." The dress is so soft and great for spring days ahead. This is another piece that fits her so well, which makes me really happy. The best part for me is that she can rock this dress to preschool, to the park, or just for lounging at the house and feeling comfortable and cute.

The Brushed Side Twist Graphic Top by Rumi + Ryder, Size XS - Cost to Keep $20

This top was really different from anything Philomena has and she really loved it! The sweater material was extremely soft and is pretty lightweight, another great season transition piece. The glittery star was her favorite and looks fierce with her tutu skirt! I could see this looking great with leggings, jeans, or even shorts on a slightly warmer day.

Myrtal Foil Print Mermaid Tutu Skirt by Chenault Girl, Size 5T - Cost to Keep $24

Mermaids and tutus, yes, please! This skirt is seriously adorable. Philomena is obsessed with mermaids right now and loves a good tutu since she is in ballet. I think this will be really adorable when the weather is warmer with a cute tee or tank top.

Rashida Character Sweater by Design History, Size 5T - Cost to Keep $28

Unicorns are another favorite of Philomena's right now! This fuzzy sweater was a huge hit, but I was hesitant to get a fuzzy sweater at the very end of winter. It fits her really well, but not knowing if it will fit next winter made me a bit nervous to get it. Philomena said it was a bit itchy as well. The unicorn, glitter, and purple fuzz was a huge hit though and if it weren't a different time of year I know I would have gotten this for her. How adorable would it look with black leggings or jeans?!

The Basic Legging by Rumi + Ryder, Size XS- Cost to Keep $16

These leggings fit so well! They really are so different from any other leggings that Philomena has which I think is why she said these were her favorite items from this fix. The glittery butterflies at the knees are just so cute and will look great with so many different tops. The best part for me is just how much she loved them, how comfortable and confident she felt in them, and just how great they fit her.

The Brushed Pocket Top by Rumi + Ryder, Size XS - Cost to Keep $18

I love a good basic and this is another great transition piece. The material is extremely soft and breathable. Philomena loved the pockets and felt really cool in them with her new black leggings. This is another piece that could be great to wear with shorts or for layering as the weather switches from cold to warm.

The Brushed Tulip Hem Hoodie + Jogger Set by Rumi + Ryder, Size XS - Cost to Keep $38

We both weren't feeling this set. I think separately the pieces are great basics to have, but together it just didn't feel very Philomena. She really loves hoodies, though, so I wish it maybe had a little design on it or came in a different color. I am bummed that we didn't love it though because this set is just so soft and cozy!

Kid Unisex L/S and Long John with Neck Inset Tight Fitting Sleepwear by Rumi + Ryder, Size XS - Cost to Keep $24

I really love adding to the kids' jammies collection. I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I am always so surprised at how expensive jammies for kids can be. This price is pretty standard, though, and the quality is great. They are super soft and stretchy, Philomena instantly ran to the couch and said she was going to go to sleep. I also thought it was really cute to add some jammies in; it sort of rounded everything out from dresses to glitter to basics to bedtime.

Key Takeaways

Stitch Fix Kids really delivered this month for Philomena! Transition months can always be hard for shopping, but I thought everything worked really well to take us from the end of winter into the warmer months. The best part for me was that everything was so soft and comfortable; you could really feel the quality in the material for everything that we received. With the quality of the materials, I thought the pricing was pretty on par with what I see when shopping for her clothes. I love seeing how confident and happy trying each of these pieces on made Philomena, and that really is where I see the value in this box, allowing her little personality to shine!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $252. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. Why is it that whenever I read through one of these kids Stitch Fix reviews, I see at least one thing that I, as a 35 year old adult, want? 😆 That fuzzy sweater is really calling my name, and so is that jogger set!! (Plus Philomenas face in that last photo set in the joggers is a HOOT!). Love this review!
