Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy.

Each month comes with an info sheet, and the other side of the info sheet always features a new art print.

The Breakdown - What's Inside My February 2022 Petit Vour Box

Antonym Cosmetics Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown - Retail Value $25

One of the things that impressed me right off the bat with this eyebrow pencil is that it has both a spoolie and a sharpener, so you always have everything you need to do your brows with this one pencil. The sharpener is a lid on top of the actual eyebrow pencil, and I found the texture to be slightly creamy but not overly so. I didn't have to apply a lot of pressure to get color payoff, which is what I prefer in a pencil, and once I added some hair-like strokes of this pencil to my brows I was able to use the spoolie to make sure they were shaped properly.

Captain Blankenship Grapefruit and Palmarosa Sea Mineral Liquid Soap, 2 oz - Retail Value $8

I was excited to give this soap a try, but unfortunately, this product was a miss for me- I found it to be so drying on my skin that my skin actually got mad at me and briefly broke out in hives. This is not a new reaction for me, but I am bummed because I thought the formula would be a good fit for me and I enjoyed the refreshing grapefruit scent.

Three Ships Vanilla Lip Exfoliator, 0.5 oz - Retail Value $13

I'm pretty sure I've tried this lip scrub before, but I didn't mind giving it another go. I really like the texture- it's not too dry and the exfoliating sugar crystals are packed in a shea butter and coconut oil base, so once I apply it I rub my lips together before wiping it off. This leaves my lips both softer and more hydrated, and since I only need a little bit this jar should still last me a while.

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum, 1 oz - Estimated Value $16 (buy the 2 oz version for $32)

This is such a generous sample of serum that my mind played a trick on me and I genuinely thought this was a cleanser and not a serum (yes, this included trying to wash my face with it). Once I used this as designed, the thin, watery consistency made a lot more sense. This is formulated with willow bark, salicylic acid, vitamin C, CoQ10, and organic fruit acids, and like a lot of Juice Beauty products I try, left my face feeling a little sticky once it was applied. When I applied a moisturizer on top of it I was good to go, but I believe this is a serum that's designed for those with oily and blemish-prone skin, not dry and blemish-prone.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Cost Breakdown:

  • Antonym Cosmetics: $25 → $7.26
  • Captain Blankenship: $8 → $2.32
  • Three Ships: $13 → $3.77
  • Juice Beauty: $16→ $4.64

Everything in the box adds up to $62, which is pretty good for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

While this wasn't my personal best box from Petit Vour, I thought it was really solidly done. I received two full-size products and two generous samples, and though the soap was a miss for me I still enjoyed getting to try everything out. Petit Vour does a good job of sending out well-rounded boxes with nice values for under $20, and I appreciate that the effort they put in each month (it never fills like filler products have been put in my box the way it can with other subscriptions). If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
