March 2022: "Spring Break"

Along with my beauty items, I received an info card that details what items are in the box. This month's theme is "Spring Break"! It's been over 10 years since I've been in college ( o m g what?!), but I have fond memories of the post midterm time of year, spring break! It's a time to enjoy some sunshine, go back home to see old friends and family, travel, or (as I did all of my college years), work. :-/

Beauty Host Lavender Pore Refining Face Mask – Listed Value $4.99

Our first item getting us ready for spring break is a lavender pore refining mask. I love the smell of lavender. The fragrance is soothing and calming and lavender also has beauty benefits such as reducing acne and giving a healthy glow to skin. The mask usage is easy, and I tend to leave my mask on a few minutes after the suggested time to really allow serum to seep in. My face felt soft and refreshed after use. I also noticed a subtle glow. And of course, my face smelled amazing. 🙂

(Featured Item) Love Byrd Green Smoothie Serum, 1 oz –  Retail Value $28.00

Our featured item this month is a facial serum including some well-known green fruits and veggies – avocado, broccoli, and lime. Because of the green smoothie name, I assumed this serum would smell fruity and delicious. It doesn't, haha, but it sure does feel good on my face!

Medusa's Lipstick (Chicka), 3.5 g – Retail Value $14.00

I'm the gal that sticks to her nudes, reds, and pinks when it comes to lipsticks, but I was so intrigued by this deep mysterious color in this month's box. For starters, I had no idea what the color was supposed to be!  I thought it was a deep cocoa color, but turns out, this is more of a deep plum shade.

When I tried this lipstick on, I wasn't too happy with it. I think it's a gorgeous color, but  it didn't seem to compliment my complexion. However, now I'm staring at these pics thinking "That color doesn't look too bad"! I plan to try this again with a liner to see if I warm up to the shade more.

Medusa's Halo Glow Face Stick (Bubbly) – Retail Value $16.00

I love Medusa's Halo Glow face sticks. They give the cheeks a glowy look, do not appear and feel heavy/cakey on skin, and give a natural blush color to face.

This was another product in which I appreciated it more after looking back at my photos. Initially, I thought the pink might be too soft and pale for my face. I actually like this soft look, though! It's such a natural and sweet look. I'm now a fan!

Medusa's Baked Eyeshadow in After Hours – Retail Value $14.00

We're ending our March "Spring Break" themed box with this lime/silver shimmery shadow. I am digging the fact that a couple of our items this month look to be one color in the packaging, but look very different once applied.

To me, the shadow in the container looks to be lime with a hint of silver. On my face however, the shadow looks to be a pale gold. Either way, I really like the color both in the container and on my eyes. 🙂

Bonus Items

Lucky us! We received two bonus items this month.  The first is the Medusa's Makeup bubble bag.  I received this item in a previous month's box and I love how it protects my glass makeup products. The second item is a baby chapstick. You can never have too many chapsticks. I appreciate these "everyday use" beauty bonus items!

Verdict

I thought this month's box was fresh, fun, and perfect beauty items for this spring! This season is all about new beginnings and trying new things. A few of the items such as the lipstick and eyeshadow, are products I wouldn't normally go for. The lipstick color is darker than my usual favorite shades and the eyeshadow, while pretty, didn't seem like a color that would look good on me. But just like the fresh newness of spring, I am embracing these new color choices (that I happened to really like)!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but you'll likely receive the April bag. Some past boxes are also available for a one-time purchase here.

Value Breakdown: I estimate I received $76.99 worth of items (this does not include our two bonus items). Awesome value for only having paid $22.95.

Thank you so much! I had to adjust to it since I’m always wearing lighter lippies, but I’ve grown to really like it 🙂
