GlobeIn "Bounty Box" Review

Picnic Harvest Basket, Ghana – Retail Value: $45

Measurement: 14.5"W x 8"L x 6"H (12"H with handle)

Materials: Vetiver grass

I'll start this off by saying I have ALWAYS wanted to have a picnic basket. I live close enough to a park where I envision myself spending day after day in the spring and summer, chatting with my friends, and spending time enjoying some good food and wine. And this basket actually felt like that dream could come true. When I opened my Bounty Box, the first thing I noticed was, of course, this basket. The rich colors called out to me instantly and it felt very sturdy in my hands. It didn't feel like it would come undone if I put anything too heavy inside. Unfortunately, my basket was dented when I unboxed it – it was just jammed into a box that was too small.

Enamel Cup, India

Measurement: 4"Dia x 3.5"H

Capacity: 12 ounces

Materials: Stainless steel and hand-painted enamel

Wrapped inside a smaller box inside was this stunning and colorful cup. The spotted design seemed to go perfect with the basket and the cup itself seemed super sturdy. I can just imagine sipping some rosé out of it while enjoying some much-deserved downtime. But I also see myself using this cup on a regular basis to help brighten up my mornings before heading off to work.

Enamel Plate, India – Retail Value: $17

Measurement: 7.75"Dia

Materials: Stainless steel and handpainted enamel

I was pleasantly surprised that the cup came with a matching plate. Honestly, I was more into the fact that GlobeIn had sent their subscribers matching sets than the fact that it was the perfect size for impromptu picnics. But not only that, I could totally nibble on some toast or snacks in the morning along with my apricot-colored coffee mug. Again, I loved the fact that the plate is made out of steel so I know it won't break if anything happens.

Bamboo Utensils with Assorted Sari Pouch, India

Measurement: 6"L

Materials: Bamboo utensils, upcycled sari

And of course, no picnic basket would be complete without a cute set of bamboo utensils. Not only are they hand-crafted and beautifully wrapped in a pouch, but it's super sustainable as it's something you can reuse time and time again. They are the perfect size to cut up any cheeses and meats, and pick up any fruits. They actually felt very smooth to the touch and I wasn't afraid of either getting a splinter in my fingers or my mouth when I used them.

The Verdict

This is one of the most stunning boxes I've received from GlobeIn so far. The colors are very aesthetically pleasing and I can definitely see myself using this in the near future. However, I am pretty sad my basket was delivered dented and could take a long time to straighten out – if it's even possible. If it's not possible to straighten it out, then I'd still use it but I'm not sure how much. Despite that, it doesn't mean that every single basket will be delivered this way and if you're looking for a nice one-person basket for some solo dates at the park or beach.

Beware an enamel cup with hot liquids, will be too hot to hold.

You can easily reshape your basket you can spray it with water or dunk it quick & while it’s wet you reshape it & let it dry I’ve done it many times.

Does that work ok for colored baskets too? I would be worried about the color running.

Yes, it works for all baskets with no issue. I’ve done colored ones.
