BomiBox is a monthly Korean beauty subscription box. Each month you get eight full-size and deluxe sample-size Korean skincare, makeup, beauty, and body products.

This is a review of BomiBox Luxe which is $44.99 per month.

This box was sent to us at no cost to review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This box doesn't come with an info sheet, but it does have a card with a QR code you can scan. The contents of the box are snuggly packaged inside- and it is always nice to see full-size products once you tear the tissue paper away.

This month's box also came with these two small samples of toner, which weren't listed as being in the box description so I am assuming they're a bonus.

BomiBox Fresh Start Box Review

Huxley Good Night Sleep Mask, 4.23 oz - Retail Value $28

I really like the Huxley brand, but they don't show up in subscription boxes too often- I love that we got a full-size item! This sleeping mask has a very lightweight texture. I can see my oily skin friends (or those who don't like the texture of heavy creams) loving it, but it doesn't really scream "sleeping mask" to me at all. That's okay- I just ended up layering it under a facial oil. This is packed with great ingredients my skin really liked like hyaluronic acid, Centella Asiatica, and prickly pear cactus extract. My skin soaked this up the way a cactus soaks up water in a desert, and I only needed a little bit to cover my entire face.

Skinfood Rice Wash Off Mask, 3.5 oz - Retail Value $11

I've had a jar of this mask before, and it's pretty awesome for the affordable price tag. It has a very gentle exfoliation experience but it's also hydrating, and it isn't abrasive to my skin when I rinse it away. The texture is fun in a unique way- thick and kind of chunky, and it's fun to apply to my skin.

Secret Key Rose Softening Toner, 248 mL - Retail Value $13

If you like toners, subscribing to a K-beauty subscription box for a few months will have you stocked up in no time. This one from Secret Key features rose flower water and thirteen other soothing botanical extracts like mushroom and green tea, and that's paired with hydrating glycerin and hyaluronic acid. This adds hydrating to my skin without feeling heavy, and I feel like my serums absorb better when I apply them to damp skin which is why I always try to have a toner like this at the beginning of my skincare routine.

Nard Hair Therapy, 100 mL - Retail Value $3.49

BomiBox will occasionally send haircare products in their skincare-focused box, and I dig it. This worked just like a standard conditioner for me, but my dry, curly hair is notoriously difficult to please. It's formulated with plant oils and hydrolyzed protein to nourish your scalp and dry strands, and I didn't find this to be especially heavy- it didn't weigh my curls down at all once it was rinsed away.

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream, 30 mL - Retail Value $15

I don't think I've seen a product before that proudly shared where its Centella Asiatica was sourced- I've heard of green tea from Jeju island, but who knew Madagascar grew a mean Cica plant? This has a formula sensitive skin dreams of with 72% Centella Asiatica and a blend of three ingredients naturally found in your skin's moisture barrier- cholesterol, fatty acids, and ceramides. This cream feels cooling when I apply it, so I can only imagine how lovely it would be during the warmer months. For how soothing this is I don't find it to be super heavy, and I really like it.

Pyungkang Yul Calming Toner Pad - Buy 70 for $18

This was a single-use pad soaked in toner, so while I liked using this the one time I could, I wish more were included in the box. This is formulated with multiple weights of hyaluronic acid, panthenol, Centella Asiatica and four derivatives of the plant, and bamboo, so it's definitely packed with the hydrating and soothing ingredients- I just don't have much more to say other than that after only being able to use it once.

SkinRx Lab MadeCera Real Blue and Real Green Sheet Mask - Retail Value $2 each

The SkinRx MadeCera masks have been frequently appearing as of late, so I am familiar with my thoughts on these sheet masks. I don't mind that these aren't new products to me because they're formulated with ingredients my skin loves. Both have a blend of ceramides and madecassoside, and the Real Green mask has extracts of green tea, mung bean, and okra, while the Real Blue mask has extracts of hyaluronic acid, lava seawater, and blue agave. If you took the outer packaging away, though, you wouldn't be able to tell the minute differences between the masks- you would just find these to be soothing and hydrating sheet masks, and I personally really enjoy them.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44.99 (Note- it looks like the price has increased by about $5)

Value Breakdown:

  • Huxley: $28
  • Skinfood: $11
  • Secret Key: $13
  • Nard: $3.49
  • Skin1004: $15
  • SkinRx Labs: $4 ($2 each)
  • Pyungkang Yul: N/A

Everything in the box except the Pyungkang Yul Toning Pad adds up to $74.49,  which is a pretty decent value for the $44.99 box cost.

Key Takeaways

I really like my BomiBox subscription, and I thought this month was one of the better ones. I love that Huxley made an appearance with a full-size item, and none of the items this month were "misses" for me. I appreciated too that all of the products had values that I found to be pretty reasonable- sometimes products will be for sale at a price that I just feel doesn't match the performance of a products, but that wasn't the case here.  If you're looking for a monthly beauty box comprised exclusively of K-Beauty products, BomiBox is one of the best out there.
