I’m notorious for overspending, specifically on gourmet vegan food. DoorDash has been my downfall. Now, not only is my budget off, but I’m also a little bit chunky. I have to say, I regret nothing; but in the same breath, I am happy to be trying out a product like this. It makes it super easy to keep a budget in mind and save up for things and trips I want to go on. There are envelopes for emergencies, shopping, travel, groceries, self-care, and more. Each plastic envelope zips shut like a ziplock bag, and you can put the allotted cash for each category inside. The beautifully designed tab dividers make it easy to locate which cash envelope you’re looking for, and at the back of the planner are sheets of notepaper to jot down any notes that might be important. The planner itself is sturdy and feels like vegan leather. I like how the inside front pocket has slots for cards. It’s perfect for storing any cards I don’t use regularly.

Some kind of apparel is always included in every Brown Sugar Box, and this month, we have a delightful graphic tee with the text, ‘Protect Your Peace’ on it. I love how the pink and blue in the design pops off the shirt, and I also really like the message behind the saying. In my younger years, I don’t think I quite understood what ‘protect your peace’ meant. Now I do. There is no person, job, or any amount of money that is worth sacrificing your peace or mental health. I’m happy to say that now I run from toxic situations and people. I’m happy to have a t-shirt that will remind me of that and also maybe help someone else see the value in putting yourself first.
IZZY & LIV Tech Diva Laptop Sleeve - Retail Value $25.00
I confess… I’m accident-prone. It’s one of my major flaws, and anything I drop or spill is always filled to the brim. So, I always like to have covers and cases around for all of my tech devices, just in case. This laptop sleeve has a beautiful design on the front. I love the sassy woman blowing bubblegum on the front. The case has a double-way zipper closure that makes it convenient to open and shut. The inside, while thin, is lightly padded to protect your laptop from scuffs, scrapes, and spills. It’s a very lightweight design, is made from 100% neoprene, and fits any laptop up to 15 inches. Subscribers could have received one of four designs: Sunset Beauties, Bubblegum Sis, Queen Confidence, or Girlfriends. I received Bubblegum Sis.
IZZY & LIV Dream, Believe, Do Vision Board Kit - Retail Value $22.00
I’m not really a vision board kind of person. I might need a written reminder of things to do that day; not for my long-term goals. Then again, I’ve never actually given it a fair try. But there are many people out there who enjoy physical reminders like these and use them as inspiration to stay on track. This kit comes with a little inspiration manual, eight sheets of motivational stickers, a six-piece dry-erase marker set, and of course, a tri-fold vision board. The artwork for the vision board itself has a glossy finish and is printed on sturdy cardboard. It contains six connected circles that make it easy to plot out major goals and break them down into mini goals. Everyone’s vision board is different, and this kit comes with everything you need to put your own spin on it.

It is my never-ending quest to become the most organized I can possibly be. I’m absolutely obsessed with this to-do list set. Having one of these notepads on my desk where I can jot down any notes or appointments for the day has been incredibly helpful. Of course, I put everything in my phone calendar, but sometimes I leave my phone on silent or ‘do not disturb’ and I miss reminders and notifications; so I’ve been trying to get in the habit of jotting down everything I have to do for the day on one of these handy little notepads and keeping that close by as I work. I really like how one of the pads has magnets on the back. It’s perfect for sticking to my fridge and keeping track of groceries and housework. I love the graphic designs on each of these pads, especially the afro queen sipping her tea.
Verdict
I thought this was an awesome Brown Sugar Box! I really enjoyed the product curation and the functionality of each item. The highlight of this box for me was definitely the to-do list set. I’m going to get great use out of them, and I love that one of them includes magnets on the back. I am very happy with the budget planner system as well. I can’t wait to get it set up with all of my emergency money and documents. The laptop sleeve is adorable. I love the bubblegum babe on the front, and the sleeve itself is very well made. This month’s apparel was a t-shirt that says, “Protect your peace,” and I love the impactful sentiment and the reminder it provides. Lastly, the vision board… While not exactly up my alley, I may give it a try one day. Overall, I loved this month’s box and its selection of curated products. Plus, the value is definitely there.
