PURFECT White Truffle Hydrating Face Cream With Blue Light Protection, 30 ml - Retail Value $45

I spend a lot of time in front of screens… I work at a computer, I use my phone, and I watch TV, giving my skin a consistent dose of blue light. I just recently discovered that there are products that protect your skin from blue light, and I’ve been on the hunt for my favorite ever since. I found this cream to be very hydrating but delicate on my skin. It absorbs quickly after application and doesn’t leave any greasy feeling. This cream has a very light and smooth texture and a hint of a citrusy aroma that is not overpowering and dissipates quickly. After use, my face always looks fresh and my skin feels hydrated and buoyant. I really love how lightweight this product is, despite the moisturizing formula, and I appreciate the added benefits of blue light protection for my skin.

RAIN ORGANICA ‘I Am Enough’ Facial Oil, 15 ml - Retail Value $34

I’m not really a face oil kind of gal because my skin is pretty oily to begin with and any heavy products tend to clog my pores. But tamanu is one of the few oils that I do use on my skin because unlike other oils, tamanu shouldn’t clog pores and it’s also acne-fighting and is effective for treating wounds or inflammatory skin conditions. Note: it is a nut oil, so if you have a nut allergy, stay away. This ‘I Am Enough’ oil blend from Rain Organica has both tamanu and argan. This unscented oil has a rich nutty aroma and works well on my sensitive skin. After applying, it left my skin feeling silky smooth and soft. It absorbed quickly and didn’t leave my face feeling greasy. I’ve incorporated it into my nighttime skincare routine and it hasn’t clogged my pores or caused any breakouts.

NOURISH NATURALS Creamy Vegan Stain in ‘Flesh,’ 2 g - Retail Value $22

I’ve received this exact product in a different shade from Nourish Beauty Box before. While I found the product to be hydrating and buildable, with no sticky texture or residue, in all honesty, this is something I am least likely to reach for. If I’m going to use a lip product, I prefer an applicator that doesn’t require me to stick my fingers into a product again and again, so I’d be more likely to reach for a chapstick or a gloss than to crack open this stain. The shade is very nice. It’s a dark pink that leaves behind a delicate, natural-looking flush with a matte finish. Now, the shade is called ‘Flesh,’ which I think sounds a little creepy or gross (I can’t decide which), but it definitely wouldn’t have been my first choice, had I been in that brainstorming meeting. Don’t let the shade name fool you… The color is not fleshy-looking but more flushy, which I think is much more flattering.

MERAKI BOTANICALS Flora Mist, 1 oz - Retail Value $30

I’m a mister… I know you’re supposed to apply toner to a cotton round and wipe it all over your face, but I’ve always preferred to mist my face with a toner or facial mist before applying the rest of my skincare. As a regular mister, the first thing I noticed about this product was how nice and fine of a mist the spray applicator gave. It produced a cloud of very fine mist that felt wonderfully refreshing on my skin, without making me feel like I was getting hit in the face with big raindrops. The scent is a nice, light holistic smell that features a hint of rose and lavender. It’s an incredibly fresh smell that dissipates quickly. I found this product to be lightly hydrating. After washing my face, a spritz or two of this left my skin feeling fresh, moisturized, and prepped for serums. A quick spritz or two throughout the day left my face feeling rejuvenated during that afternoon slump.

Verdict

This month’s Nourish Beauty Box had some great products. Rain Organica’s facial oil seemed like a high-quality oil that was quickly absorbed into my skin and didn’t clog any pores or leave my face feeling greasy. I really enjoyed the Meraki Botanicals flora mist. I love how fine the spray applicator distributes the product, and the burst of hydration and refreshing scent are very nice. With all the time I spend in front of screens, like so many others, I appreciated the inclusion of the Purfect blue light protection face cream. It’s lightweight, hydrating, and provides natural protection from blue light. Lastly, the Nourish Naturals stain… Not the most exciting product in the box for me, but oddly, I do enjoy the shade ‘Flesh’ and the lovely natural pinkish flush it gives my lips. Overall, I think this was a solid Nourish Beauty Box. The value and quality of products were there.

Nah, you don’t have to apply toners (or essences) with a cotton round/ball. Most of the more credible ‘skinfluencers’ I follow on social media just pat it on with their palms. I’ve been doing it that way for over a year now and it definitely makes for less waste! Also, misting certainly has its place and it’s a nice pick-me-up. Great review, BTW.
