October 2021: “Trick or Treat”

Along with my beauty items, I received an info card that details what items are in the box. Our theme this month is “Trick or Treat”. Yes, my favorite time of the year – Spooky Season! I plan to spend October cuddled with my dog and cat, in our Halloween costumes, watching my favorite Halloween movie “Nightmare Before Christmas”! Excited to explore what beauty items we can add to our Halloween looks from Medusa’s Makeup.

10 Free Chemistry Nail Color (Gilded Amethyst), 15 ml – Retail Value $12.00

Starting off this Trick or Treat review with this moody, deep purple nail polish. Summon your inner queen with nails the color of royalty. I’m digging the shimmery silver swirls throughout the nail polish, promising a lustrous shine. This product is plant-based, making it 100% vegan, non-toxic, and free from 21+ harmful chemicals. What I really love about this company, if you don’t like the color of your polish, they will send you a new one! I have acrylic on my nails right now, so was unable to try the polish out, but I look forward to rocking this fabulous color and seeing if it lasts the 10+ days as stated.

Medusa’s Eyelashes (Princess) –  Retail Value $12.00

Medusa’s Makeup is finally selling eyelashes! I’ve been waiting for this day ya’ll, and listen, these lashes did not come to disappoint. Upon first appearance, the eyelashes seemed short in width. However, once applied (with the fantastic lash glue that was included), I was struck by how perfectly they fit my eyes.

The lashes were natural enough to wear throughout the workday, but enough glam to really make my eyes pop. These faux minx lashes are reusable, so lightly wash the band and place them back in the container to wear another day 🙂

Medusa’s Vegan Lipstick (Blue Moon), 3.5 g– Retail Value $14.00

Never have I ever had a lipstick this blue. I was pretty shocked when I opened the tube and saw the color. It’s less baby blue and more neon blue. My thoughts were “You are going to look like a clown”, but I had to try it for you all…and my own curiosity.

I surprisingly don’t hate it! It’s bold and flirty. I can see myself wearing this to a party, date night, or even brunch! The blue offers face and fashion versatility and I’m ready to take on the challenge.

Medusa’s Glam Rock Eyeshadow (1971), 2 g– Retail Value $12.00

Add a little pizazz to your Halloween costume with this shimmery violet shadow. As soon I saw the color I immediately thought of our beloved Prince. Purple rain- this is such a rockstar highlight.

The shadow was a lot shinier and metallic on my arm swatch than on my actual eye.  I wish it was more shimmery on my eyelids, but I still think it’s a bold and fantastic color to keep around.

Medusa’s Eyebrow Liner– $18.00

Our last item in this month’s Trick Or Treat box is an eyebrow pen in a medium brown color. This is another new item that Medusa’s Makeup added. What a treat 🙂 I have very faint eyebrows and generally use a gel pomade to shape my brows. However, I know a pencil works better with the definition of brow strokes.

So impressed at how well this pencil filled in my brows. I didn’t have to press hard on the pencil for the color to show which made me feel comfortable with the application. I could have actually went a bit darker, but I’m also digging the natural look. I may have found my new favorite brow pencil!

Verdict

All treats in this month’s Trick or Treat October box! I am ecstatic that Medusa’s Makeup has added eyelashes and an eyebrow pencil to their site. So long, I’ve been saying to myself “I wish Medusa’s Makeup sold lashes” and look at this Halloween miracle! The blue lipstick was, to my surprise, cute and flirty. I can’t wait to see what outfits I can pair with the hue.
