Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

FYI, COVID-19 Updates: To learn more about Stitch Fix’s extended return window, any potential fulfillment delays, and more, read all of their service-related updates here.

First Impressions

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

What's Inside This Month's Fix

Aliza Pleated Neck Blouse by Fun2Fun, Size 2x — Retail Value $38.00

The first piece that Torey sent my way is this adorable golden yellow retro floral print blouse. The color is perfect-- I love warm, bright colors. The fabric on this piece has limited or next to no stretch. The top fit, but it was snug on the belly and my hips and fit a tad awkwardly on my chest and neck. I relayed this feedback to Torey and she actually had a peer reach out to me to see if I would like this top in a size up to try, but I declined. How accommodating is that though? That's what I call top-notch customer service! I opted to style the blouse with the red jeans included in this month's Fix. To make it look less ketchup and mustard-themed, I accessorized with orange jelly flats and orange plastic flower earrings to bring out more of the vintage-inspired vibes. This top would look fantastic as well paired in the fall with a tan or brown faux suede mini skirt, fishnets, ankle booties, and a bulky knit, rust-colored cardigan. Wear this to the office with a fitted blazer, pencil skirt, and heels.

Joanna Slim Straight Leg Trouser in Red by Kut From The Kloth, Size 24 — Retail Value $78.00

I am living my foxy Ronald/Rhonda McDonald lifestyle in these adorable red trousers that Torey selected for me. I have reviewed a few pairs of Kut From The Kloth brand jeans and I am always rather impressed with the quality. I love the color of these pants and how buttery soft and stretchy the fabric is. The size 24 fits well in the belly and waist, but the legs aren't as tapered as I would prefer. I would like these slightly more if they were higher in the waist and snugger in the calves and ankle. Otherwise, these are well made and rather stylish. Wear these pants with a striped t-shirt and faux leather biker jacket year-round with either white Chuck Taylors or pointy toe ankle booties. Either way, you will look fantastic and feel comfortable in these pants.

Keeney Knit Romper by Kaileigh, Size 3x— Retail Value $54.00

This romper just might be my favorite piece that Torey choose for me this month So much so, that I kept it! First off, I love the romantic floral print. I especially love how bright and vivid the color palette is on the flowers-- absolutely gorgeous. Secondly, the fabric has ample stretch and I love the drawstring in the middle to ensure more definition at my waist. Plus, this romper has modesty buttons at the chest so you can adjust to cover up or reveal more skin. I feel comfortable wearing this and look great in it too-- bonus! I also appreciate that this piece is short in the legs and has longer 3/4 length sleeves. This is perfect to wear with platform cork wedges, a large brimmed hat, and oversized sunglasses in the summertime. However, this piece can translate into the fall with black opaque tights, stacked wedge Mary Janes, big silver hoop earrings, and a faux leather biker jacket. I opted to style this with bright red jelly flats, bright green plastic hoops, and my favorite orange glitter glasses from Wherelight.com. You will get numerous looks from this single piece and slay in each and every one of them! For additional styling of this romper, check out my latest ShoeDazzle review as well!

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot to mention one other detail about this piece-- IT HAS POCKETS!!!

Ora Knit Crop Jumpsuit by Kaileigh, Size 3x  — Retail Value $58.00

I had actually favorited this jumpsuit on the Stitch Fix site some time ago. Even though it is the end of the season, I was still eager to try this beauty out finally! The lilac and fuchsia shades look fantastic with one another. The pairing screams spring and summer to me for sure! I also appreciate the stretchy and slinky fabric and cut of this piece. It is cute but incredibly comfortable to wear. I can't envision this piece being worn all year round, but you certainly can get a lot of wear from it from mid-spring to late summer. I opted to style this ensemble with green and pink lampshade earrings from Gloss and Shimmer, baby pink jelly flats, and Lola baby pink cat eyes from Wherelight!

Rydell Slip Midi Dress by Skies Are Blue, Size 3x— Retail Value $58.00

I would be lying if I said my first impression of this dress was good. I was concerned it wouldn't fit me. That the fabric would hug my body in an uncomfortable way. However, Torey didn't steer me wrong with this adorable slip dress. The fabric isn't a satin material necessarily, it isn't as flimsy and more textured. This dress was so easy to wear, I just slipped it on and it hugged all the right parts of my body. I am rather impressed with how this dress looks on-- it might be one of my favorite selections from Torey this month!

I know some folks might assume this is only a piece that can be worn in warmer months, but you are wrong! I opted to style the dress with yellow and black flower power earrings to pair well with a yellow zebra print sweater. I topped off the outfit with my new favorite white combat boots from my most recent ShoeDazzle review! I love how the dress looks with the cardigan buttoned or undone. Plus, I adore the pattern clashing and how the different accessories tie in everything together. It really adds complexity to the outfit simply by tossing on this animal print sweater. This slip dress would look awesome as well with a t-shirt or turtleneck underneath, opaque tights, combat or ankle booties, and a faux leather biker jacket for a chic, yet strong look.

The Verdict

This month's Stitch Fix had some phenomenal pieces-- my favorite being the floral romper! I am so eager to wear it with clunky open-toe wedges, patterned tights, and a faux fur coat this fall! This is the second month in a row I have opted to keep a piece from my Fix-- that is a big deal! I feel as though my new stylist, Torey, really takes my feedback to her into account each time she assembles a Fix for me. She checks out my direct feedback, what I "bookmark" or list as a favorite on the site, my Daily Stich Fix Style quiz results (when I remember to do them, guilty as charged!), and even the Pinterest and Instagram links I provide. Torey is on top of her game, I tell ya! I love this working relationship we have. I can't suggest enough to give constant feedback-- let your stylist know what you like and dislike! This makes such a difference! I also love that Stitch Fix will notify you when your stylist selects pieces for you and gives you the option to approve or disapprove items. This truly helps the process and ensures you will get a box that complements you and your style! You also have the ability to personally select pieces for your Stitch Fix as well-- which I like since I am a total shopping fiend! Did you also know that Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you? This is ideal if you aren't interested in the monthly Fix, you can simply just buy exclusive Stitch Fix brand items whenever you like! With all these options, how can you not like Stitch Fix? I provided my feedback to Torey and am beyond thrilled to see what she sends my way next month-- are you too?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $286. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $194.50 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!

I absolutely love the black floral romper and that dot dress on you. They look incredible! Thank you for continuing to review this box, it’s nice to see how cute some looks can be as a plus sized girl, even if I don’t ever get the box. Two thumbs way up!

Great review as always and these items look good on you, too! But this looks like it would’ve been a perfect Fix for April or May, most definitely not October, and yet not a single item appears to be end-of-season discounted.

Sure, we can all throw a sweater over and add tights but that’s not the point of getting a monthly box that should be seasonally appropriate. Only the Kut jeans pass as cool/cold weather worthy.

I guess the best that can be said is that at least you didn’t have to model the summery clothes in the snow…

Maddie, you know I would model whatever is sent to me in the snow! hahaha. This makes me think of a day I had to model some skirts and a sleeveless glittery holiday jumpsuit in like 10 degree weather. I should probably create a mini studio in my house instead tbh, but I haven’t done such a favor for myself. haha. But omg! That day I was so cold, I hopped in and took a VERY LONG, VERY HOT bath. hahaha. I get what you are saying for sure, but I do appreciate getting dresses like these even if they seem out of season. They challenge me on the styling and also I like to think of all the ways I can wear a piece and get my money’s worth. But I get what you are saying, completely. As always, I appreciate you taking the time out to review my reviews and comment– it means so much to me!
