I've always been very curious about this subscription, and after reading several reviews I finally took the dive. October is my favorite month, so there was no better time to treat myself and indulge in some spiritual awakening and hopefully enjoy some interesting crystals and other meditation accessories this month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The box comes with a short but informative booklet that outlines all of the items inside and discloses the theme. This month's theme is "Fortune Teller".

What's Inside This Box

Pink Botswana Agate - Listed Value $4

This little rock holds a huge job; it helps to 'shield your aura while opening your throat chakra', the chakra well known for communication and your ability to speak your inner truths. It is also known for comfort and repelling negative energies. I've been feeling stagnant in my routine for quite some time, so having a stone that may improve communication may just be the ticket to shaking things up around here.

Seed of Creation Psychic Intentions Tarot Pouch – Retail Value $22 (on sale for $20)

If you thought this was an ordinary pouch, think again. Not only is it the perfect pouch for your tarot or oracle cards, but it is also screen printed with selenite ink. This pouch will help to keep your cards safe, and it will also help cleanse and charge them for their next use. Its soft organic cotton is high quality, and I absolutely love the palm design.

Zenned Out Journey Tarot Deck– Retail Value $19.99 (on sale for $17.99)

I am really impressed with this modern deck of tarot cards. The illustrations are stunning, and they've included cards including elements from the Major and Minor Arcana, numerology astrology and the four elements. This set includes a little booklet with descriptions of each card, and they fit perfectly in the pouch pictured above. If I had one complaint, it would be that the paper the cards are printed on is flimsy. I will treat them gingerly, so hopefully they will last us a long time.

Moon Wisdom Keychain – Listed Value $11

It is a new take on the Magic 8 Ball, and I'm living for it. My level of nostalgia hit the ceiling while my husband and I sat on the floor asking this keychain question after question this evening. This ball of mystery and wisdom gave us some promising answers tonight, but sometimes after the first shake the answers didn't appear--maybe a little too mysterious? You can find the full-sized Moon Wisdom Ball here along with many other treasures in the Goddess Provisions Boutique.

Coal miner's Daughter Prosperity Anointing Oil – Retail Value $18

I am totally on board with this prosperity oil. Anoint your third eye (chakra in the center of your head), spell candles and sacred objects and watch the riches roll in! If only it were that easy, am I right? Abundance isn't all about riches, but it would make life a little simpler. Hopefully the spirit agrees when I put this oil to use. This oil mostly smells of orange peel oil and gold mica gives it a hint of shimmer.

Crystal Bar Soap Psychic Reader Soap – Retail Value $8

Hidden within this fragrant bar, a black obsidian crystal awaits to be uncovered. In the meantime, use the soap to wash away negative vibes. It smells as good as it looks. I couldn't find the exact bar to link above, but their shop is full of gorgeous crystal soaps. The fragrance notes I am picking up are lavender and anise, and they are a match made in heaven. This bar is moisturizing and clarifying, the perfect soap to wake you up in the morning.

Verdict

My first Goddess Provisions box was a delight! I love all of the different types of products and intentions behind them. The quality and beauty of each item, especially the bar of soap and tarot cards, speaks to how thoughtful this box's curation is. I am absolutely buying everyone on my Christmas list a Crystal Bar Soap; it is never too early to start shopping. This month's box has a value of $78.99, using sale and listed prices; I think that is a great value for a $33 box.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I LOVED this box. But it’s most likely due to the fact I hadn’t gotten this box in over a year. But I renewed because I fell in love with the tarot card deck because of the beautiful illustrations and the diversity of the depictions of the different people on them. As an avid researcher and for the love of different practices and religions I found this months box interesting and full of variety. Although I think I’m going to pause my subscription again because I’m overloaded with gemstones and altar adornment. But that’s depending on spoilers for next month.

This box felt like a disappointment, and I think that was mainly because their most teased highlighted item – the Moon Wisdom keychain – is cheap and (IMO) silly, and not the kind of item I’m looking for in these boxes. It feels like a plastic keychain you could get at Five Below. Also, mine barely works – regardless of whether I shake it, or if I just gently rotate it around, it’s really difficult to get the inner die to lie flat against the glass – it lies on an edge, so I can’t really read what it says. Since it’s a plastic trinket, I was thinking of gifting it to my 10-year-old niece, but it works so poorly I don’t even know if I’ll do that.

That sucked a lot of the fun out of this box, but that being said, otherwise I quite liked the soap, the oil, and the crystal. The pouch is nice, but like several of their items, feels quite overpriced ($22 for a small pouch?). Also, the deck is fine but I’m feeling overloaded – this is the 7th GP box I’ve gotten, and this is the 3rd deck we’re gotten, plus 2 other months we got Oracle Trading Cards. I think this is way too frequent.
