Friends Box is a quarterly subscription box full of exclusive, officially-licensed merch from the hit TV show. Inside, you’ll find collectibles, apparel, and accessories based on beloved characters and memorable episodes. Lately, each box has focused on a different season of the iconic show.

Like a lot of late 90s teens, I once sported "The Rachel" and could belt out the lyrics to "Smelly Cat," but it's been a while since my last re-watch. Let's see if this box will bring those nostalgic 90s vibes!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This Season's Box - "Season 7"

This box features apparel, accessories, and collectibles that reference season 7 of "Friends" and are also appropriate for fall. This season included classic episodes like "The One With the Holiday Armadillo," and Monica and Chandler's wedding. Let's take a look at what's included.

Notecard

Every box arrives with a card showing each of the items inside.

Oversized Plaid Shirt

Since the fashion world appears to have decided fall 2021 is the season of the "shacket," this plaid shirt feels perfectly on-trend. It's a great neutral pattern and the shirt is thick and well-made. If it wasn't for the large "Lift and Slide!" artwork on the back, I would totally wear this shirt out of the house to run errands. But since it references a joke from the show that I just don't remember, it will be a comfy home item.

Jumbo Decal

This is a cute decal from a classic moment from the show. If you love the Friends guys, you're going to want to find a place to proudly display it. Mine's going to go somewhere inside my planner, where it will make me smile when I go to write down my next dentist appointment or other mundane stuff.

Wedding Fund Jar

I vividly remember watching the episode where Monica, eager to start planning the wedding she'd dreamed of for years, discovered with horror that her parents had given up on her ever getting married and spent the money on something else. While I'm glad comedy has mostly evolved beyond mocking women for remaining single into their 30s, I still feel for Monica in this moment! A mason jar is always handy to have around. I will honor Monica, who was also a chef, by using mine to store homemade apple butter this fall.

Slipper Socks

The socks were laying across the top of my box when I opened it, making me think it was a Christmas stocking. As much as I love Friends, these wouldn't fit in with my holiday decorations. But when I pulled them all the way out of the box and realized they were slipper socks, I couldn't have been more excited. I burn through two or three pairs of slipper socks every winter, so I will surely get a lot of use out of these. They are snug and cozy with nice traction on the bottom to keep you from sliding all over your floor. I can't wait to curl up in them on my couch with a giant mug of coffee to pretend I'm hanging out at Central Perk.

Wooding Cooking Spoon

Like the mason jar, a wooden spoon is an item you can always do with one more of in your kitchen. The handle is long and the mouth is small, so I'd recommend using it for stirring a drink, like a pitcher of your favorite fall cocktail.

Mug Warmer

This USB-powered mug warmer was my least favorite item in the box. First of all, I don't remember this joke at all, or the episode it's from. It's not an iconic line like "We were on a break!" Secondly, I have so many insulated mugs that keep my drinks warm without electricity, these once useful items are now obsolete. The one place where it might come in handy is to have as a backup at work, but the phrase "burning loins" runs just slightly on the side of NSFW for me to feel comfortable bringing it in.

Face Covering

Let's face it. Masks are going to continue to be part of our lives this season. I'm happy to think this one will remind people of their favorite show when they see me wearing it at the grocery store or on the subway. It's fairly thin, so I wouldn't recommend it for a higher-risk situation like a flight or a day at work. But it's a good mask for running quick errands.

Was the Box Worth It?

The box delivered on its promise of exclusive, officially licensed collectibles, apparel, and accessories based on favorite characters and episodes of Friends. This box included seven items for $39.99, which works out to a cost of $5.71 per item.

My Verdict

This Friends Box featured some cute apparel and functional kitchen items that I will use throughout the season and beyond. The slipper socks were easily my favorite item, while the mug warmer was the only thing I don't see myself getting any use out of. If you like Friends and have a strong memory of the jokes from season 7, you're probably going to love this box.

So you say you’re a fan but you don’t remember Rosses car nor Rachels porn book?

The “burning loins” is from one of the best episodes, when Joey finds Rachel’s “naughty” book! Ross even references warming his coffee mug on Rachel’s loins, which makes this item pretty clever, actually! 😉 I am a huge Friends fanatic but I have rarely been tempted to get this box … too many “logo” items for the most part, but the mug warmer makes me laugh!

Thanks for clarifying. Funnily enough, my favorite episode is another one involving Rachel’s reading habits – when she and Joey swapped their favorite books. She read a Stephen King book and he read Little Women and they got in a fight over spoilers. Maybe there should be a Rachel Greene Book Club!

YES! Love that episode too! And putting both books in the freezer when they get too scary/sad. 😉 I would be interested in a Rachel Greene Book Club!

The lift and slide is from the episode where that red car on the flannel gets blocked in, in a parallel parking spot on the street. The car in the front and the back are so close that there’s no way to get the red car out so Ross was saying we’re just gonna lift the car and slide it out! Lift! And slide!! Lmao
My favorite episode ever is with the couch; trying to get it up the steps. PIVOT!! PIVOT!!!

I know pivot but I really don’t remember lift and slide. It sounds like classic Ross, though!
