The Book of the Month Club has named the five finalists for 2021 Book of the Year. "Five amazing books earned a spot in our members’ hearts, but only one will take home the prize" says the club. "Stay tuned for the announcement on November 11th."

The finalists are Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid, People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry, Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby, The Four Winds  by Kristin Hannah and The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. The book of the year winner, chosen by readers, will win the Golden Lolly, named after Lolly Willowes by Sylvia Townsend Warner, the first Book of the Month winner in 1926.

"The Book of the Month Editorial Team strives to discover unorthodox themes, debut and emerging authors, and books that leave a lasting impression on readers," says the club. Last year's winner was  The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.

Book of the Month BFFs get the opportunity to get any of the finalist books for free in their December box. New to Book of the Month? Get your first book for $9.99 with code BOO.

wow great in depth post……said no one ever. you asked recently what we wanted on the site and a lot replied with less clothing rental options and more home/book reviews and yet I’ve clicked on 3 links today that weren’t clothes and they all look like this; and you wonder why no one likes your site anymore!

They also stopped including the descriptions of each BOTM on the spoilers/choice posts.

Lol. Why am I not surprised there are no pictures? I guess if it’s not Allure, Alltrue, Boxycharm, or FFF, we don’t need pictures. I mean, who reads books or gets excited by their covers anyway?
