Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy. Right off the bat, I was excited to see a product from Earthwise Beauty inside- that's a skincare brand I have been wanting to try for quite a while!

The Breakdown

Elate Cosmetics Eyeline Pencil in Oynx, 1.1 g- Retail Value $18

I really dig the mission behind Elate Cosmetics- all of their products are made with a focus on low waste and sustainability. This black pencil eyeliner was created while minimizing environmental emissions, and the wood encasing the eyeliner is California cedarwood that is PEFC certified (which guarantees sustainable forest management). Performance-wise, I do wish this pencil was slightly creamier. It wasn't so firm that it hurt to apply it to the delicate lids of my eyes, but I did have to tug slightly to get an even line. The formula has great staying power, though- after a full day of wearing it there was zero fading or smudging.

Rahua Shower Gel, 22 ml - Retail Value $5

I have always liked the "rainforest grown" theme of the products created by Rahua, and this shower gel did not disappoint. I love the smell of this- according to the website the scent includes notes of lavender, eucalyptus, vanilla, and palo santo. It is formulated with antioxidant and omega-3- rich Sacha Inchi and Rahua oils (which come from the rainforest), and this was a hydrating cleanse for my skin that didn't leave my skin feeling tight while still removing the sweat and grime of the day.

Andalou Naturals Sunflower & Citrus Styling Gel, 1.7 oz - Retail Value $1.99

I see Andalou Naturals on the shelf at my local Whole Foods, and I have tried an item or two from the brand in the past. This styling gel was a new product for me. I am always eager to try out hair gels that can help keep my curls defined but hate gels that leave my hair crunchy or tangled. I had good results with this gel- I think the sunflower oil and vitamin E keep this from drying out my hair, and it helped my curls to hold their shape without turning my hair into a mess. Sometimes when I use gels I have a hard time detangling my hair in the shower afterward, but I had no issue here.

Earthwise Beauty Nap in the Meadow Face Serum, 1 oz - Retail Value $60

This product was the star of the box for me, and it wasn’t close. I’ve been wanting to try Earthwise Beauty for a while now (it’s a pretty trendy brand on Instagram), and I am stoked we received a full-size serum that retails for more than three times the cost of the subscription box it came in. This feels like the serum version of a green juice for your face- it has a light green color and an earthy scent, and the formula has a cold-pressed whole-leaf aloe juice base. This has a whole bouquet of botanical extracts inside- think lavender, yarrow, German blue chamomile, geranium rose, and turmeric. It’s designed to give your skin a boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits, and I’ve really been enjoying the lightweight texture that layers well in my routine.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Value Breakdown:

  • Elate Cosmetics: $18
  • Rahua: $5
  • Andalou: $1.99
  • Earthwise Beauty: $60

Everything in the box adds up to $84.99, which is an awesome value for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

I always look forward to my monthly Petit Vour delivery, and this may be my favorite box of all time from them. I love, love, love that I was finally able to try Earthwise Beauty, and the Nap in the Meadow Serum did not disappoint- I am so happy this box came with a full-size bottle. The other three products in the box worked well for me too- I really liked the scent of the shower gel, the hair gel worked well for me, and while the Elate eyeliner isn't the best eyeliner I have ever used, it is certainly the most sustainable and environmentally-friendly. If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
