Be careful when ordering a one off box from glossybox. I ordered the August box on the 4th. I canceled the subscription several weeks later (well before the end of the August), and I was billed for the September box on Septmber 1rst. I have left several messages and sent and email with no response. I get multiple subscription boxes, and this have never happened before. Will not do business with them again.

Jessica you can search FAQs on Glossybox’s web page, and find out how to end your subscription, and it clearly states that you must cancel before the 15th of the month or you’ll be billed for and receive the following month. So to avoid getting the September box, you would have needed to cancel before August 15. I always try to find out all the info about being billed and how to cancel/when to cancel before signing up for a subscription, but it is a pain trying to remember each one’s policy. Hopefully your experience and my response here will be helpful to anyone else considering a subscription, but I’ve been off and on with glossybox for a few years and have never had any issues, and they are a favorite of mine!

Snow, I get multiple subscription boxes, and this has made me much more cautious.

They are the only box that I get that cancels mid month. They clearly state upfront with the box info that if you order after the 15th, you will be billed the next month. But the cancellation timing is in the FAQ’s, and they dont show spoilers till the end of the month. The September box is a throwaway for me (mushroom hot chocate?). And, my comment were about customer service not responding to multiple messages. While i LOVED my August box, I will avoid Glossybox in the future.

Unfortunately I have cancelled before the 15th and was still charged. Glossybox is like that. What I do is make sure I subscribe and cancel before the 15th AND use PayPal. After cancelling with Glossybox, go to your settings in PayPal and remove PayPal as a payment option (automatic payments). Then they can’t charge you. Shouldn’t have to do all that, but better safe than sorry.
