Cubscription Box is a quarterly subscription box for kids that sends you a furry new Build-A-Bear friend along with exclusive Build-A-Bear accessories and other goodies. They offer a quarterly plan for $29.99 + shipping or an annual plan at a discounted rate of $26.99 + shipping. Their boxes are meant to be unisex and they always send seasonal items that any kid can enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This quarter's theme was "Don't Worry Be Hoppy" and once I saw that it came with a cute cuddly frog and matching t-shirts for him and my son, I knew it would be a great box! Let's get to it!

Inside the Cubscription Summer 2021 Box

We received this little booklet which highlights all of the items in our box with cute rhymes about each of them. The back features a rhyme about how we need to name our frog just like you would at an actual B.A.B. Factory.

Exclusive Cubscription Build-A-Bear Frog

This happy, fuzzy little frog embodies the theme of this box. He's so soft and cuddly and my son was very excited since he doesn't have a frog stuffie! This little guy has a nice shiny embroidered heart on his chest and the B.A.B logo on his hand. This cute frog on their website retails for about $22, but I think ours is even cuter!

Exclusive Cubscription Mini Ringer Tee

Our matching apparel this quarter is this adorable ringer tee that reads "don't worry, be hoppy." I love the cute little pun and the vintage vibe it has!

Exclusive Cubscription Ringer Tee, Size 6/7

How cute is this tee? I wasn't so sure about the color at first, but I think it looks really nice on my son and while it's a tad big, it still looks okay and has plenty of room for him to grow into it. He's just happy that he gets to match his new frog friend!

Exclusive Cubscription Beach Ball

My kids always go crazy for a beach ball and this one was definitely met with some excitement! The ball itself is a bit thicker than the average beach ball, so it may hold up just a bit better. The kids have all been having a lot of fun with it ever since we inflated it!

Exclusive Cubscription Compact Waterproof Backpack

This waterproof backpack is another beach-ready item. I can't decide if it's actually heavy-duty or not! The straps are pretty thin, but the bag itself is a nice thick material since it is waterproof and it seems to be well-made. Time will tell for this one, I guess! Either way, he likes it and it's perfect for storing his new goodies in for now.

Here it is on my son. You can see it's a little big, but unfortunately, the straps aren't adjustable.

Exclusive Cubscription Bento Box

This bento box is so cute and has some really nice features. My son was very eager for me to wash it out for him so that he could use it. I love that it has the handles so that when you lift them up it almost looks like a tiny picnic basket! The flatware is nice and sturdy and it's nice that it has so many different sections to store all of his favorite snacks!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $29.99 + $7 shipping

Value Breakdown: With 6 items in this box and a cost of $29.99 + $7 shipping, that gives each item an average cost of about $6.17. Since branded items tend to be pricier and everything we received was exclusive, I think that is a pretty great value! My son was excited about all of the items and while some may not have been anything high-end (the bag and beach ball), they were items that he really enjoyed which definitely adds to their value for us.

Key Takeaways

My son is always excited to receive a new stuffed animal and it is such a wonderful treat when they include matching apparel for him and his new toy! These shirts were cute and the theme was a fun one. He loved the summer feel of it all and was so excited to have his own "lunchbox." He has also been playing with this beach ball non-stop, so overall, I'd say this box was a winner!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

The frog and your kiddo are so cute! 🙂 I love reading this sub’s reviews. If I could have all the stuffed animals, I would!
