Quirky Crate July 2021 Review

Quirky Crate showcases one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month features Yana from Belarus; she creates simple drawings that make powerful impacts for small business owners and others who enjoy cute illustrations. This info card gives you some insight into her background as well as some social media info.

On the flip side of the card, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month’s theme is “I Need Space,” featuring bright, spacey items.

Time to get quirky!

Galaxy Chain Purse – Listed Value $40.00

I absolutely love this bag. It is definitely less quirky and more wearable than any other bag from this subscription. The change of pace is a welcome surprise! The black and gold color scheme exudes class while the smaller chain’s dangling hearts have that cutesy touch that Quirky Crate does so well. This round bag opens really wide and can fit a phone, wallet, and a few accessories with ease.

I Want to Believe Necklace – Listed Value $15.00

I have an immeasurable fear and respect for aliens, so I’m completely fascinated with anything alien-related. This charm reminds me of something I would have gotten from a quarter machine in the early ’00s. It is cute, but the chain is very cheaply made.

It is super cute with a fun t-shirt, and you can wear it at the length of your choosing.

Space Jam Enamel Pin – Listed Value $10.00

Even though I enjoy the subtle shine of metal accents on QC’s enamel pins, I absolutely love this neon on-black space motif. Space Jam is my jam! This hefty pin has two pin-backs to keep this big guy in place. I’ll absolutely wear this either on my jean jacket or my Jansport!

Deep Space Bath Bomb – Listed Value $5.00

Bath bombs are always an awesome find in any subscription box. I love my rare me-time/spa nights, and you can’t beat the relaxation a bath bomb invokes.

I ended up using my bomb in my foot bath, so the water turned into this glorious concentrated green color. The shea butter moisturized my feet while the fragrance scented them lightly with coconut.

Alien Socks – Listed Value $8.00

Yay! Another pair of adorable alien socks! The different alien types are adorable, and this pair also says “Spaced Out,” a really cute play on words. I love the planet, stars, and spaceship details; these instantly became my new favorite socks. They are comfortable and durable; these will last through many washes, and I’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of them!

I Need Space Travel Mug by Alisovna – Listed Value $15.00

Another subscription box favorite, you can never have too many travel mugs! This is not an insulating cup, but it is cute on-the-go and dishwasher safe! The truth is, I am a Capricorn, and 9 times out of 10, I do need space. This gets the message across without offending anyone in my workspace, and I love the bright purple designs and the neon green lid (I won’t be losing that any time soon!).

Star Pen – Listed Value $3.00

Nobody tries to steal my pens anymore, thanks to Quirky Crate! These gel pens are fun to write with. This one has a very fine tip with a steady flow of ink, no pooling or patchy writing here! The sparkly star is fun to spin around, and my toddler is super jealous that mom gets such a fun utensil while he is stuck with boring crayons and markers.

The Verdict: July’s Quirky Crate was full of fun space-themed flair and accessories. QC really nailed the space theme this month, and I can’t wait to flaunt my quirky finds from this month’s shipment. My flair is always a friendly conversation starter around the office and when I am out and about. It is a fun, treat-yo’self type of subscription, which makes it worth every penny to me. The total value of this box adds up to $96, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sign up today to receive the August shipment. You can also purchase past boxes for $40 if still available. From Quirky Crate:

We ship around the 15th of each month. (Must order by the 13th of the month.) If you’d like your gift subscription to ship right away, please email us after placing order.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $36.95 + $8.50 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $6.49.

Super cute box! One of these days I’m going to succumb and subscribe for a month. Do they ever release themes ahead of time?

Carol

Space/aliens aren’t really my thing (they’re my boyfriend’s), but I love that little purse so much!

Hallie

Carol, you might enjoy checking out their website. If you sign up for their emails you’ll get really great sales. Like $13 off past boxes. I bought a few past boxes then got any month sub during black friday sales. I skipped this month because I am moving and have already lost too much mail. I really like the bag this month though!

Snow

I do like the space theme, but wish the necklace was better quality and the socks had cuter aliens. I like that the theme was seen throughout the box.

I must say whoever gets to curate this box each month has the best job.

Katie

Very cute! I would have really liked this months box.
