GlossyBox is a beauty subscription that sends five deluxe and full-size products to your door every month for $21 (with free shipping to the U.S.). You should expect to discover new brands of hair care, makeup, and skincare in each box, wrapped up nicely with a different theme each time.

There is something about this beautiful pink box that makes me giddy! I can't wait for delivery day because that means I get a little self-care as I test each product.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

FYI: GlossyBox sometimes sends out multiple variations of the box during some months. So there may be some variation between what we review and what you receive.

First Impressions

The products this month caught my eye right away as I noticed a few brands that I've tried before and have loved so I was excited to dive into everything!

What's Inside The Box

GlossyBox includes an info booklet that tells you about each included item, its value, and a tip on how to use it. This is an extra special month because it is their 10th birthday! Happy Birthday, GlossyBox, thanks for always bringing the beauty magic!

Hask Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner, 50 mL - Retail Value $2.99

My hair has been in bad shape lately from the hot humid temperatures where I live and from being at the pool all summer long. Needless to say, I was pumped to give this deep conditioning mask a try. This conditioner is made with keratin amino acids, coconut oil, jojoba seed oil, and more. The keratin is used to coat your hair cuticle to help reduce frizz, smooth unruly strands while restoring shine. They recommend using this about once or twice a week by applying a generous amount to clean wet hair, then let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. The packet says you can get 2-3 uses out of the packet, but my hair is very thick and very long so I got one use out of it. Brushing my hair out is a huge task, but I had high hopes that this would help with my knots - unfortunately, I didn't notice a huge difference in the overall texture of my hair after getting out of the shower. I did, however, see a big difference after styling. My hair felt so soft and my curls were smooth and defined. I didn't see the big humid day curly hair frizz on day two of not washing my hair either. So while this didn't help me brush my hair out after the shower, it did make the overall look and feel of my styled hair look incredible!

Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser, 30 mL - Retail Value $10

I am constantly looking for a new cleanser that is going to be gentle on my skin, won't dry me out, but will still do a great job at removing my makeup. I want to start by saying that this cleanser has a super-strong blueberry scent that I wasn't expecting. I can't say that I have used a blueberry-scented skincare product so it was a bit overwhelming. I will say that the formula itself was amazing and worked really well for my dry, sensitive skin. This unique 3-in-1 formula includes blueberry extract, hyaluronic acid, and hydrating suds which are micro foaming bubbles to effectively remove makeup. Overall this is meant to remove your makeup while still hydrating your skin and combats blemishes over time. Besides the fruity scent, I am really loving how this cleanser is working with my dry and sensitive skin! I can't wait to continue using to see the overall benefits over time.

Cetaphil Sheer Hydration Replenishing Body Lotion, 8 fl oz. - Retail Value $6.99

I didn't know I could get so excited over body lotion, but I did! My skin is so dry so I apply lotion all over my body right after I get out of the shower. Cetaphil works really well with my skin so I was super excited to add this to my morning routine! This lotion is formulated with an exclusive hydrosensitive complex that deepens dynamic hydration and soothes skin sensitivity. It is also made with hyaluronic acid, sunflower oil, vitamin B5, and vitamin E. This goes on so smoothly, dries quickly, and is meant to give you 48 hours of hydration. I am absolutely loving how this goes onto my skin, how quickly it drinks it in while leaving me feeling hydrated and smooth. This has a fresh scent and gives my skin this healthy glow that I love. This is exactly what my dry summer skin needed!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, 15 mL - Retail Value $45

Elemis is that holy grail product line that I just get so excited over when I see it in a box! I've tried masks from them before but never a cream. I knew this cream was for me when I saw that it hydrates your skin for up to 24 hours while firming the skin and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. This cream is super rich and is formulated with a powerful combination of anti-aging marine algae and emollient cocoa butter to provide intense nourishment to dry skin. Yes, please! They recommend using this cream in the morning by warming a pea-size amount in your hands before applying it to clean skin in upward strokes. As you know, my skin is very dry and I have been noticing a lot of dry patches again now that the seasons are starting to shift so I could tell that my morning routine needed something extra. While I can't speak to the anti-aging benefits of this cream, it truly is helping to keep my skin hydrated all day long! I have noticed that my makeup is going on so much better, I don't feel dry and tight by the end of the day and my skin looks fresh again! I am so excited that I received this bottle of hydration gold to add to my routine!

KAB Cosmetics Juicy Melon Lip Oil - Retail Value $20

I typically don't love a shiny lip look, but I was happy to see that this oil doesn't leave you with a sticky texture like a gloss. This formula is infused with mineral oil to soften and hydrate your lips. You can use this on its own to keep your lips hydrated all day, or you can use this over lipstick to give it a glossy look. I used this over a darker matte lipstick shade and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the look turned out! Do I like a shiny lipstick look now? The one thing that I did not love was that this oil has a strong coconut smell and taste to it. If you have followed my reviews over the years then you know that I cannot stand anything coconut. I was left with a bit of a weird aftertaste from the coconut which I didn't love. While I can't see myself using this oil every day, I love that this can turn my usual everyday lipsticks into something a bit more glamorous while leaving my lips with deep hydration.

Invisibobble Slim Marbelous You're Greyt - Retail Value $9

I swear by these hair ties when I go to the pool. They can go from my wrist, into the pool, and back into my hair without issues because they don't absorb the water like a regular hair tie. For just a normal day though, these aren't my favorite ties to use to put my hair up. While they don't put a dent in my curls, I find that they just don't hold all of my hair up nicely. It almost tugs and pulls at my hair and doesn't hold it all in or up tightly. I usually have to keep taking my hair down to put it back up because my hair falls out of them so quickly. I think I just have too much hair honestly, hahaha! My daughter is obsessed with these though and loves that she can wear them on her wrist as a cute bracelet and then bam it can go into her hair! These work really well in her hair as well and look oh so cute!

Verdict

This month's GlossyBox was a celebration for their 10th birthday and the products really showed that! I was so excited to see an Elemis product in there and was intrigued that it was cream instead of a mask. Honestly, the Elemis cream is the golden ticket item this month for me personally because it hydrates dry skin while helping to reduce fine lines (my almost 34-year-old skin thanks you for that). The Cetaphil body lotion was another winner for me! My face is dry and so is my whole body so I use a ton of lotion once I get out of the shower. Receiving a new lotion is always fun, but when it is this deeply hydration yet sheer formula then it is a huge yippy for me! The keratin mask didn't get me more than one use, but I was happy with how it made my hair look after it dried, leaving me with soft defined curls even on a humid day. The cleanser is surprisingly working really well for me as well and I am slowly getting used to the strong blueberry scent. I love that it doesn't strip my skin while still removing my makeup. The lip oil and hair ties weren't as exciting for me, but I will still get use out of both. I have one tie to use when I go to the pool and the others are now for my daughter to wear which she was so excited about. The lip oil just isn't my style but the formula left me feeling hydrated and smooth. Overall this box was a huge success for me! The curation felt spot on this month, selected with care and attention. The products brought me some new brands that I was excited to learn about while giving me brands that I know and love. This is everything that I look for in a beauty box!

I am loving this month’s box. I am not a bid gloss fan, but the KAB isn’t bad! I first received Elemis in a sub box and it’s so good I have purchased the full size again and again. The body lotion was really good and I have already purchased another. The deep conditioner was a miss for me, but that’s okay, I got to try it right?! I feel like this Invisibobble doesn’t hold up like the non metallic ones. I am going to give the cleanser a try due to this review, I’ve got high hopes for it now, lol

I am always excited for Elemis, too. That cream is my regular now (I use it at night) and has been for almost two years.

Hmmm I thought they had a special 10th Anniversary box?

Not a bad box minus the KAB lip oil stuff. I feel like I have seen that Elemis product a million times. Maybe I’m just a bit in a subscription rut.
