First Impressions

I have really been drawn to cold brew since the trend started, especially in the warmer summer months, so this box looked like it would be a great way to get that cold brew experience at home. I also loved that this box came with a desk set, even though I don't know if I'd really say it was the greatest themed pairing. But alas, it works well for our purposes since my husband works from home these days and could use a few nice accents for his desk! Let's see how our cold brew coffee experience turned out!

This little card highlights the items in our box.

Cold Brew Coffee Maker by Primula - Retail Value $29.99 (on sale for $23.99)

This glass carafe holds a total of 50 oz without all of the extras tucked inside. It has a lid with two pieces, the main part slides into the top while there is a lid that then screws into it meaning your beverage is safely contained inside. As for the cold brew process, it includes a large filter that almost reaches the bottom and holds about 16 tablespoons of coffee. The process was very simple. I measured and added my ground coffee to the filter (which also has a convenient little hand on it!) and then I slowly poured in 40 ounces of water making sure the entire filter full of ground was saturated. Then, I gave it a gentle stir, replaced the lid, and stuck it in the fridge for 24 hours.

Once the coffee is ready, this little flavor mixer handle can help to stir up your coffee to make sure the flavors that have settled get mixed back in. I love that the coffee can last for about two weeks in the fridge so I can make a big batch and have it ready to go for the week!

So how was the coffee? Did it measure up? Honestly, it really did! It was nice and strong and it really brought out the flavors in my coffee. I did add some cream to my coffee, which is how I take it, and it was like the perfect strong iced coffee to give me a nice afternoon caffeine boost! Now if only I could figure out how to recreate the pumpkin cream from a certain coffee place, I will be set for the fall!

Bolivar Bitters by Bittercube, 1 oz. - Retail Value $10

If you're looking for something new to add to your coffee, this bottle of Bolivar bitters has a unique blend of prunes, raisins, spices, chamomile, jasmine, and orange peel. By itself the flavor is like a typical bitters, but with just a hint of herbal flavors and a bit of that prune taste. I bet it would be a nice addition to some cocktails if I wanted to get creative! For now, I just added a couple drops to my coffee to see if it enhanced the flavor and it definitely did, although I don't think I can really describe how! It was pleasant but subtle.

Concrete Desk Set by Port Living Co.

The last items in this box are the concrete desk set. My husband and I both love the industrial look of them, but somehow they still look slick with the smooth surfaces and the nice gray color. While they are definitely substantial, the weight isn't incredibly heavy like you might expect, but just sturdy enough to sit on a desk. These will make a nice addition to his desk and be a great way to store writing utensils and a few small items! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to verify a retail value for these, but I did find a similar set here, although I would have to think ours has to be slightly lower in value!

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $45 + $3.95 shipping

Value Breakdown: The total for the coffee maker and the bitters came to $39.99, which leaves about $8.96 for the desk set. I would say the value is definitely there because the desk set is most likely worth much more than that! I'm also thinking this may save me some money in the long run since I can get that same coffee shop flavor at home now.

Key Takeaways

Bespoke Post always offers such unique and classy items. This box was no exception! My husband and I both really love the look of the desk set and the cold brew coffee maker is just something that we were probably going to purchase at some point anyway. The addition of the bitters was a nice one; unique, and a fun pick because we got to try something new! Overall, another great box that we're happy with!

I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
