July 2021 So Susan Color Curate Review
This month came with an information sheet on the featured items. Let’s dig into the products!
So Susan Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, July 2021 – Retail Value $12.00 (currently out of stock)
This month’s bag says “Too Busy Makin’ A Difference”. These bags are always so well made, plus it is always nice to have an extra one handy to keep my overflow of beauty products. I’m still not loving these quotes, sometimes the graphics are so pretty I wish they just let the images speak for themselves.
Trifle Cosmetics Soft Swirl Overnight Hydrating Face Mask, 3.5 oz. – Retail Value $48.00
I love anything that is going to my skin a big boost of hydration! My skin is naturally very dry, but the summer is usually when my skin is at its best. However, I have been at the pool a lot which has been very drying for my skin so I was really excited to give my skin this little moisture boost. This is an overnight mask that you can apply to cleansed skin before going to bed, no need to wash off until you wake in the morning. It is made with fruit-based AHAs such as grapefruit and giant granadilla to plump your skin and refine pores. Another main ingredient, avocado butter, is made to keep your skin feeling hydrated and luminous. I used this shortly after I got back from vacation when my skin really needed it and boy did it work! I woke up the next morning, totally forgetting that I put it on the night before, and wondered why my skin felt so luscious! Then I remembered that I used this mask. So yeah, it worked, and gave me this silky smooth glow that really helped to make my skin shine! This is going to be great to use in the winter after a deep exfoliation to really rehydrate my skin through the night.
So Susan Cosmetics Halo on High Petite Cream to Powder Luminizer – Retail Value $18.00
I really never saw the appeal of using a luminizer until I started finding more that I actually liked. I started using them in my daily makeup routine more and more and now I am really feeling them! This powder luminizer is a bit darker than I would like, but it works for me right now since I have a tan going. Come the fall though this won’t be great for my skin tone. This is a velvety powder that goes on almost like a cream to give you a radiant, light-infusing look. You can apply this with your finger or you can use an angled brush to blend to amplify the glow. This is a simple way to add a quick look of moisture to my cheeks and helps to give me that effortless no-makeup look that I really love in the summer!
Jelly Pong Pong Liptensity Hydrating Lip Gloss – Retail Value $19.95
Red used to be my go-to color every day, no matter what I was doing. That was when I was young, had cute bangs, wore mini skirts, and was newly dating my now-husband. Times have changed, but I still really love a good red lip, it makes me feel complete! This gloss is a little more on the shiny side, but it makes it great to use quickly in the summer. I wore this with very little makeup on and just let the red lip pop, I thought it was the perfect summer evening look. While this formula is thick, it transferred a good amount which caused me to reapply more frequently. It is also infused with sweet almond oil to give your lips that extra boost of hydration! This is just a really nice lip gloss that is a timeless color!
So Susan Cosmetics Dual Brow Powder – Retail Value $17.95 (currently sold out)
I recently had my eyebrows tinted, but with the summer sun, they are starting to lighten really quickly. I was super excited to see this brow powder set so that I can darken mine up a bit more until I get them tinted again. The first photo is the lightest brown shade, while the second photo is the darkest. I wasn’t loving the brush that comes with this set, it is rather small and clunky to use so I decided to use my own brow brush. This powder is so smooth and easy to apply! It is made with aloe extract and carrot seed oil to nourish that gentle skin on your eyebrows. The powder allows you to really have a handle on your application, to fill in with light strokes so that you don’t end up overdoing it. This is such a great set to have on hand!
Verdict: This month’s So Susan Color Curate was a big win for me! My favorite item this month was the overnight mask because it honestly made my skin glow! I loved that I could sleep with it on as well, waking up to velvety smooth skin is incredible. The luminizer is a great addition to my makeup bag for summer, allowing me to add some quick and easy highlight to my tan skin for a flawless no-makeup look. The brow powder was perfect for me since I love filling my eyebrows in when I am not able to have them tinted. This powder goes on so smoothly, making application a dream. This month has a value of $115.90 which is always an incredible deal for a $20.95 bag. This little bag packs a big punch and is always a favorite of mine. For the price, this is perfect for any beauty lover out there!
