greenUP The Summer Box Review

Each box arrives with a product list complete with a brief description of the items you’ll find inside.

Kokoa Botanics Vegan Deodorant in Tea Tree & Mint – Retail Value $11.00

I reviewed this deodorant in last summer’s shipment; here is what I had to say about it then:

I’ve had the best luck with natural deodorants this summer! They have come such a long way since I first started dabbling in cleaner formulas, and here is yet another I can add to my ever-growing favorites. I was impressed by how softening and smooth this deodorant felt; it melted into my skin and I was odor-free all day. Kaolin clay and coral calcium aid in moisture absorption and odor protection. This vegan, toxin-free, and plastic-free body care item is a healthier alternative for you and for planet Earth.

The 2021 Summer Box sent the Tree Tree & Mint fragrance, which is even better. It glides on smoothly, and this stick should last all summer long.

H&J Organic Cotton French Net Bag – Listed Value $16.00

I reviewed this bag in last summer’s shipment; here is what I had to say about it then:

No matter the sitch, I am never without a reusable shopping bag. I have about 10 in my car at all times, two in my purse, and another in Ro’s diaper bag. Excessive? Yes, but they are all there “just in case”… This net bag is perfect for produce shopping at the grocery store. It is big enough to fit my order of summer fruits and veggies but small enough that I won’t overfill and crush anything. Another plus, I absolutely love the color of this bag; it is perfect all year ’round, but it is especially nice for summer months.

Last summer’s box included a turquoise bag, but I am loving this yellow version even more. So cheerful!

Byta Stainless Reusable Bottle – Retail Value $31.00

Drinking enough water isn’t easy. Finding the perfect vessel to help with your daily hydration? Easier than you think. I have tons of reusable water bottles in rotation, but none feel quite as sleek and stylish as this one does. It has a great weight to it, and I really love the silicone handle attached to its bamboo lid. This stainless, double-walled bottle holds 20oz of liquid, hot or cold.

Murray stans.

Patch Bamboo Strips – Listed Value $6.99

I couldn’t imagine a more useful tool in this box. I never even considered plastic in bandages being an issue, but when you think of how many bandaids a hospital, clinic, etc. uses on a daily basis, it is pretty eye-opening. greenUP sent a variety so we could try each type of bamboo strip. The options are natural bamboo, activated charcoal for bites and splinters, coconut oil for grazes and abrasions, and aloe vera for burns and blisters. For the girl who loves options and maims herself on the daily, this is a perfect compilation of bandages. Each little packet holds two bandaids.

Ro is sporting the coconut oil bandage after getting a booboo at the pool. The little pandas are an adorable motif suitable for kids and adults.

Porter Copper Stainless Straws – Listed Value $18.00

Reusable straws and I go way back! I already have a collection of every type imaginable, so I will be donating these to the break room at work. While I am partial to a bendy straw, I do love the stylish copper metal and length. These straws are made of rustproof stainless steel.

Verdict: The Summer Box from greenUP looked a little familiar to last year’s summer box but different enough to keep me interested. The quality in each greenUP shipment is outstanding, and every item is always put to use, exceeding my expectations every time. Each greenUP shipment inspires me to increase my eco-friendliness to different aspects of my life. This curation included items that are not only eco-friendly, but they are practical and always useful. For $54.95, I received a retail value of $82.99 – almost double the cost!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is still available!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $54.95 +free shipping, which means that each of the five items in the box has an average cost of $8.59.

What kind of dog is Murray? He looks just like mine but we’re not sure of the breed he seems to be mixed with something.

yet another cash grab sorry excuse of eco friendly box. Nobody that cares about the environment needs any of that ! Seriously ! Just stop ! We already have ALL that ! straws and bottles and reusable shopping bags. The carbon footprint of sending those useless boxes around , not to talk about manufacturing more items that we already have (seriously , those items are reusable for a reason) .Why on earth wouldn’t you look for innovative items that will actually make a difference? Oh , right…cause this is not about the environment. Its about making money !

The bandages are interesting! Easily the best item in the box based on this review. I don’t sub but I always keep an eye on eco-friendly boxes … but I am so tired of seeing reusable bottles, straws, and shopping bags! It’s more wasteful to keep sending these types of items since most eco-aware people would already have them (and most likely multiples upon multiples). I feel like they should be in an optional “starter” box for new subscribers and/or optional add-ons.

Anyone else feel this way?

Michelle

That is such a sweet picture of your child👶 !

Murray, they shaved you again!!!! 😭
