I got an email from them just as they were changing their name from causebox to Alltrue, with a picture of the PMD brush and it said “get this PMD plus three other items.” They were selling leftover spring boxes with fewer items. There was no fine print anywhere on the email that said the brush was only a possibility (I checked before ordering) and on the page it showed the tote bag and the pmd, and then below showed what else you could possibly get. It was heavily implied that every one of the leftover boxes had a tote bag and PMD and I could find no information to the contrary. I ordered the box, it took forever to come, and didn’t include one. I emailed them and showed them their own email that they sent to me, but it was just a form response about them allowing people the opportunity blah blah to buy the (leftovers) cheaper. It seemed kinda shady to me. I still feel like the box was worth what I paid because I wanted the tote bag anyway, but I don’t like deceptive marketing. It should have said the brush was only a possibility and then I would’ve just shrugged it off. I canceled my sub immediately and then started getting emails from them saying I had a billing issue. I switched to fabfitfun instead. Thought it was a little ironic to change the name to Alltrue when their emails are not all true lol. Hope other people had better experiences with them though!

@anninva- bellow mubscription. lol.

Also, I checked the Ellen shop still has the sale going on. Go to that her site and search for box. There are three old boxes on sale. two are $15 each and one is $25 each. The puzzle was in the attitude of gratitude box.

When would this Summer box actually show up?

MISLEADING
If you sub quarterly you will only be able to choose 3 categories, and only after you figure out the workaround to do it.

This is amazing! Great Job!

When was regular customization? I guess I missed it.

I also missed customizing my IPSY bag this month as well. I don’t know what’s going on this month that I keep missing customization deadlines.

Calendar it in your phone. Life gets hectic and away from us, so it really helps to have the monthly reminder on the relevant day. I’ve given up on my memory; it’s all in a calendar now.

Agreed , this site has gone from the best to the worst. They haven’t even posted for the Ipsy Plus today and I always love to see what others got. It was my worst one yet 🙁

They are running a promo now too – use code 4TH to get a box for $30! I’d pay that for bala bangles so everything else is just bonus

Jen

Thank you for the code!
When i signed up quarterly i used the code, all was great till i was sent to another page. The customization page said it was closed. So i was not able to make any choices.
I did send an email, but not sure how that will go.

Huh, I used the code and it immediately took me to customization after I entered my payment info.

Anyway, at $30, I bit. I’ve wanted those Pepper & Vetiver bowls forever. I also picked the weekender bag and the Volim scrub, both of which I’ll get good use out of.

Stephanie

If you get this deal, just note it will not take you to the customization page immediately. I logged out and logged back in an hour later and I was able to click on the customization tab and start choosing. Might be less than an hour too but this is what worked for me.

Kristin

Same thing happened to me. I went to the FAQ and it still didn’t have a link. Then I signed in again and it took me to the customization page. I was only able to customize categories 1, 3, and 5.

Kelly

Same happened to me, but I was able to go in through the FAQ tab and under the box customization heading there was a link to customize my Welcome box, at least for three of the items. I got Bala bangles, the Pepper & Vetiver bowls, and the Votim scrub.

Amy

BLESS I was super on the fence and decided to hold off at full price but was going to cave eventually. Thank you for saving me!!

The bangles are only 1/2 pound so now I’m wondering if I want two sets lol

Stephanie

FYI, seasonal subscribers only get to customize categories 1, 3 & 5.

Ok, I’m confused. MSA used to have spoilers and news and reviews before anyone else, but now it seems they’re always late. I’ve known about this for days at least. I saw it in an ad on Facebook of all places. Why is MSA late all the time now?

No, it is definitely not the same any more since Liz left. The anniversary of MSA being launched was June 27 and they didn’t even mention it on the site! In previous years they did such a great job of getting special offers for boxes that I marked the date on my calendar. Now, things are sooo late in being posted, and a lot of sales don’t even make it on the site. I got a previous KIND box for $15 in a sale noted elsewhere. I’m not a fan of Ellen’s box, but it had a puzzle in it that I wanted that retailed for $45, so that was a huge win. With the message boards gone, there’s not even a good place to share sale news with others. I’ve sent in so many suggestions to MSA for sales and new boxes that were never posted. It’s so sad. It was a labor of love for Liz (at least till near the end of her term), but it feels like the organizers now are just “putting in their time.” Sorry to be so negative, but for those of us who have been here for years, it has been truly sad to watch the decline.

Sadly, even more changes are coming. I know this cause my friend has a box and they’re going a different direction.

Stephanie

Where are you finding news like the be kind box sale you mentioned. Is it a site rhymes with “said it” or a site that rhymes with “bellow mubscription?”

Hanna

Agreed. MSA is most definitely not the place to go for box info anymore. There appears to be not much care or enthusiasm put in to the site. I also agree that the boxes themselves have seen better days. I miss the days of hero items. Now everything feels like filler and with box companies buying other box companies, it feels like everything is the same. I am trying to find the inner strength to walk away from the last few boxes I’ve held on to. Not sure why I find it so hard since I can openly admit I don’t find it exciting anymore.

Wow, I would have loved to have known about the Ellen deal!

Yeah, the message boards were ended while Liz was in charge, and probably the worst decision MSA ever made. Although lots of sites have discontinued message boards, they need to be constantly supervised because of folks unable to get along with each other, and spam. There are Reddit sites that are great for sharing deals.

Teresa

I don’t think it was a labor of love for Liz. She didn’t do it out of the kindness of her heart, she made good money at. Keep in mind she was there when they took the message board away. From that point a lot of active people stop using the site. She passed the site on as Sub boxes seem to be in decline. It was business. It seems clear that the group that bought the website didn’t get it to promote sub boxes but for some other reason.

Jennifer

It hasn’t been the same since before Liz left. Subscription boxes aren’t as exciting as they used to be. Sort of run their course.

Agree! MSA isn’t the go to place for sub box news anymore which is a real bummer. I used to get all my info here….

Even the spoilers for the Alltrue summer welcome box are just lists… not pictures….
