Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

Stitch Fix Plus Size Clothing June 2021 Review

This is the included invoice. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece. The total comes up to $268, after all the discounts, if I opt to keep everything—which is a $116 total savings! That is like getting the LNA sweatshirt for free!

As always, I received this handy sheet with a note from this month’s stylist, Alexis! I am excited to see what she selected for me this month! I love these sheets and how they show you visual styling for each item you receive – it is so incredibly helpful!

Finally, as always, Stitch Fix also includes a pre-paid envelope to mail back all my returns. You might not be able to tell, but this is large enough to hold every piece you receive. The size of the envelope isn't a concern though, because I bet you are keeping everything your stylist sends, right?

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

Lennora Knot Detail Knit Dress by Fortune & Ivy, Size 2x — Retail Value $54.00

This dress has got it going on, does it not? I love modern pieces with a retro feel and this one knocks it right out of the park. This dress reminds me of a wiggle dress that Joan Holloway on Mad Men would have worn. The floral print and the body-hugging cut bring out such early 60s vibes! However, the material of this piece is far stretchier-- almost like a buttery soft jersey fabric. If I were still reporting to my office for work, I would certainly wear this dress styled with flats and my matching bedazzled bracelet and earrings for more vintage-inspired flair. I topped this look off with clear cat-eye-style glasses from Wherelight.com. This dress also could be phenomenal for a summer wedding paired with platform wooden wedges and oversized sunglasses if outdoors.

Jillyan Raglan Sweatshirt by LNA, Size 2x — Retail Value $108.00

I think anyone that has styled me over the years understands my penchant for all things animal print. That being said, it comes as no surprise that my stylist, Alexis, included this lovely sweatshirt. This sweatshirt feels more like a light sweater to me. It is not as thick as some sweatshirts I have worn, but it is ultra-comfortable. The animal print is great, but the sweater is such a dark charcoal grey that the print is a bit hard to see. The top is definitely cute and versatile-- it looks swell pattern clashing with the trousers my stylist included, but also would look fantastic with a faux leather mini-skirt, fishnets, and booties or overalls and sneakers in cooler weather months. However, the top is a wee too pricey for me, so I definitely passed on it.

Renee Straight Leg Printed Pant by Liverpool, Size 22w — Retail Value $88.00

Last year had a lot going on, but on a more personal and trivial note-- 2020 was the year that I decided I liked the color pink. A lot. Sure, I added some pink items to my wardrobe, but I even went as far as painting my dining room the most delightful baby pink! So, I was excited to give these pants a go! I do like the shade, though it is a smidge more mauve than pink. The plaid print is cute and these are incredibly stretchy and fit me well, but I don't know-- I didn't fall in love with these pants. I went for more traditional preppy styling with studded loafer mules and tucking in my LNA sweatshirt. Maybe I would have loved them more had I styled them with a pastel polka dot blouse, platforms, and gigantic earrings for that kitschy retro look-- I don't know! These pants are well made and perfect for the office, but not sure if they are for me.

Amira Button Down Cardigan by Daniel Rainn, Size 2x  — Retail Value $68.00

Alexis also included this deep hunter green cardigan with a floral print pattern. The fabric has loads of stretch and isn't too thick or thin. This is a piece that is ideal for layering under jackets and over t-shirts and camisoles. This looks great buttoned-up with jeans, but would also be great worn open with a blouse and skirt or with an A-line dress. The print is subtle and definitely something I might have worn for business casual days at my work.

Harlow Space Dye Crop Performance Tank by Beyond Yoga, Size 2x— Retail Value $66.00

I was surprised to receive a tank in my Stitch Fix this month. I can't recall ever being sent something that was remotely an activewear piece, but I am game for anything. It would be a lie, though, if I told you I wasn't concerned about how this would hold my chest. It can be a roll of the dice with these two, I tell ya, but shockingly I was able to slap this tank on without an issue. I felt pretty well held in considering! I was concerned the straps would be flimsy since they are so thin, but this piece is incredibly well constructed and great for us more endowed folk! I did some simple styling by wearing this with black jeans and flats, but come summer this could be your go-to with retro dolphin style or denim shorts! Just make sure to cover yourself with a lot of sunblock in this to avoid a wild tan line!

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix had some decent pieces, but it didn't really feel like it had me in mind. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved the Fortune and Ivy dress-- talk about stellar! The rest of the pieces were well made and constructed, but nothing that really spoke to me or had a wow factor. With summer coming, I want some bold prints and colors. I want something that isn't grey and muted. My body is ready for something a bit wilder. I am eager to wear all the bright clothing that fits my personality and I will be sure to pass this along to my new stylist, Alexis. I always provide feedback and try to update my Pinterest every couple of months and include my Instagram link. This gives my stylist a better idea of my personality, my activities, and what kind of clothing I like to wear. Also, it is helpful to do the Daily Style Quiz they offer on their site. It allows you to thumbs up or down pieces to further communicate with your stylist your likes and dislikes. Even if you just do it after you provide written feedback, it still is a big help! You can also "bookmark" items in their shop and send the links to items on your feedback as well. These steps all assist your stylist in creating a Stitch Fix that really feels customized for you! If you prefer to not get a monthly Style Fix-- no worries! Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you! I am excited to see what Alexis does with all my feedback for next month's fix, aren't you?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $384. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $268 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!

Carrie

I received the same animal print LNA sweatshirt and splurged on it even though I likely won’t get a chance to wear it until October. Found it runs large so sized down. It sure is soft and has great drape. The print is definitely understated, which is another reason I liked it (I’m old, I’m dull.)

Carrie, this sweatshirt is adorable and super soft. You are not old or dull, the print is lovely! I just end up gravitating towards bolder and brighter pieces myself that a lot of folks might find too busy or obnoxious. It is all about what appeals to us individually. :o) It all depends on my mood too, but I feel like the closer I am to 40 (I am mere months away) the more I am dressing the way I dreamed to as a teenager!

I received those same plaid pink pants. It was nice to receive something spring in color as i usually only receive the box quarterly.

Kathy, they are so cute and springy! I didn’t keep them for myself because I wear more dresses than pants tbh and all my plaid pants I own just kind of sit and collect dust. I should probably bust them out more tbh. I think these pants would look so cute with some golden yellow or chartreuse top or accessories to make it even more vibrant!
