Pacifica Coconut Probiotic Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30, 6oz - Retail Value $16.00
Mineral sunscreen is a tough subject! I love to use a more natural sunscreen for my face, but when it comes to zinc oxide on the body, it can be a real mess. Sadly, I've ruined dark bathing suits with zinc, and I've had white streaks running down my arms and legs after jumping in the pool, not pretty! I tried this on a very humid day, both in the water and sweating outside of the water. I was generally impressed, considering this is totally zinc-based. The white base wasn't extreme, and the texture after drying was matte, although I could still feel it sitting on my skin. I will keep using this for my face, but it is a little too thick for the body.
Kadalys Thirst-Quenching Eye Masque, .7fl oz - Listed Value $40.00
Being the mom of a zany, wall-climbing toddler is exhausting work. I can visibly see my under-eyes darken as the day goes on, which is sad, but also pretty amazing to witness. I am just blowing through eye creams and treatments like crazy, and I just can't seem to beat the fatigued look; however, this masque is looking promising. After applying a thick layer, I left this on for 15 minutes then removed the excess product. This is quite moisturizing for a gel base, and the bio-active green banana and red algae components temporarily brighten the eye contours.
Elikya Beauty Illuminator in Silver, .52fl oz - Listed Value $17.50
I am liquid and cream highlighter obsessed, always! Not just in the summer when it looks especially great. When I learned this highlighter was a cool silver tone I was hesitant to try it, but after using this for a few days, I am in love. It's so different than the tones I usually love, and the shine makes my complexion look radiant. Liquid highlight is so easy, and you only need a tiny amount to make a huge impact. I love this high on my cheekbones and above my upper lip.
Here is a swatch of the Elikya highlighter (blended at the top) and the Kadalis Eye Masque.
I am wearing the eye masque under my eyes and I topped my makeup look off with a thin layer of the Elikya's silver illuminator.
Pure Sol Charcoal Body Konjac Sponge - Retail Value $15.99
I've always loved Konjac sponges for my face, but I never used one for the body. This sponge has the same texture as my face sponge, but it is bigger with maybe a little more grit. It is made with 100% vegetable fiber and bamboo charcoal to help gently polish and exfoliate your skin. I've been using oily sugar scrubs for too long, and this Konjac was exactly what I needed to change up my routine. The charcoal purifies the pores while the sponge lifts away dead skin cells without damaging the skin.
Zion Health Ancient Clay Soap with Rosemary Lavender - Estimated Value $1.00 (Buy 60z for $5.52)
This adorably small bar of soap is gentle on the skin and smells lovely. It is 100% clay and vegetable-based and full of skin-loving minerals that moisturize and nourish the skin. Its subtle fragrance of lavender and rosemary doesn't linger on the skin, but it is just enough to relax and soothe the senses in the shower. I really liked this sample, but it definitely went too quickly.
Verdict: June's Kinder Beauty Box was a fab mix of products to kickstart summer! I love to dabble in different SPF formulas, so the Pacifica sunscreen was awesome to try (even if it wasn't a complete win). I am loving using the Kadalys Eye Masque, and I can't get enough of the Elikya Illuminator. This month's box has a retail value of $90.49, an awesome value for a $26 box.
