Why are my comments being deleted about July spoilers? And why aren’t you posting them?

BeautyFix has a past box called Fall Weather Favorites and also several more “compilation” type of boxes if anyone is interested. I just typed BeautyFix in their search on Dermstore and before clicking go, it came up with names of different ones. If anyone wants an alternative to this box, I think there are a couple that are great there. 🙂

They also have some “Best of Dermstore” sets that I think a lot of people might like.

Wow, this is a lame box! Only one full size item & the samples aren’t even high value. I agree that dry skin moisturizer for summer heat & humidity is a misfit.
I used to really like Beautyfix but it has been a disappointment every month this year. Could be because Dermstore was bought out (by Target?) & new owners don’t do a good job curating subscriptions or try to make them profitable. It really went downhill. I wonder how many people dropped this sub last year? I keep thinking next month will be better & it doesn’t happen. Too bad I forgot to cancel. If I don’t see a really good spoiler for July -I’m setting a reminder for 6/25 & cutting it.

Unfortunately, I cancelled for the same reason, I used to brag about this box, I haven’t seen any improvements.

Same! Subscriber since day one. It’s no longer worth $25 for me.

Bianca

I’ve been subscribed for awhile now. The items are pretty good and I’ve been overall satisfied, especially when adding up the real cost of the products. I think it’s fun getting a box in the mail and especially for the fact that it is mostly skincare related. The past few months though, have been iffy. I’ve been on the fence about whether or not to keep subscribing. I had to get a new debit card and I had totally forgot that I needed to change my info for this month. I decided to take a sneak peek at this months items and I was really disappointed. I mean, I would probably only use the moisturizer and face spray. The rest would be worthless to me. I was planning on canceling my subscription with my old debit card number and starting a new membership with my new card. This month sealed the deal on that decision. I cancelled and I guess I will wait and watch in hopes for better months to come. Maybe re-subscribe another time. I was really hoping and looking forward to June’s box. What a let down. I’m not totally giving up on Beautyfix, but I’m not going to pay for useless items. Bummed. 🙁

I would love to try the Naturopathica item, because I love Naturopathica, but nothing else calls me, so an easy pass. I’d like to remain positive about this box, but I haven’t personally believed I have seen a “good” box imo for at least a year. 🙁

Agreed – I cancelled about 6 months ago and I haven’t seen one box since that has made me regret my decision. It’s such a bummer because I LOVED BeautyFix for a long time – it was my favorite out of 4-5 subscription boxes that I was getting at the time. It’s been reduced to one or two full sized items and 3-4 sample sized items, and for the price it doesn’t seem worth it. I love Dermstore and BeautyFix was the best for a while.

Did anybody who purchased the dermstore x sunscreen with the 0.5 oz Elta Md get their full sized Sunscreen after the email? I got the email they would send one through the mail but 2 weeks later nothing has came

What has happened to this box is the same thing that happened to every other box: the global pandemic.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

Ipsy Plus is what happened. And Boxycharm. When you get 5 full size products compared to this it’s over. Sample boxes were a thing for a while but now we know we can get a much better deal. I won’t and don’t pay for samples anymore. This was a great sub with its 1 or 2 full size back in the day…

Reply ButtonReply

echo

I partially disagree, but you do have a valid point. Yes, Ipsy and BoxyCharm offer 5 full sized products, which is presenting a problem for many boxes for obvious reasons. However, if you read any Ipsy and/or BoxyCharm specific discussions, you’ll see a ton of complaints about how many of the full size items are private label (DLS or other) “filler” instead of well established, high end beauty brands. We know that’s something Ipsy, BoxyCharm and others do to inflate the value of the box all the time, not necessarily a pandemic effect, though the coronavirus hasn’t helped.

But I hold my position, the global pandemic has seriously impacted beauty subscription boxes, just like it has everything else. I’m seeing the effects in all of my subs (counting the different iterations of Ipsy & Boxy, I have about 10).

Sourcing is an enormous problem. Dermstore probably doesn’t want to send us less than the promised 6 products and have a lower value box. When they were able, you could look forward to 6+. Sometimes I’d get 9 items with 1 full size but the other 8 were impressive enough to make the box worth it regardless of size.

Folks are unhappy with what they are getting (or not getting) across the board. Off the top of my head: I imagine NewBeauty TestTube doesn’t want the toothpaste in their 15th anniversary box to be the big hero item, they just can’t get their hands on better products and lots of them.

Things are definitely getting better but it still could take awhile for subscription boxes to recover and return to normal. I hope customers don’t get driven away in the meantime. *fingers crossed*

Nat

I was going to get this for sunscreen because I do like the sample I received, however, I already have spray water. Huge bottle. Also I have trial size of that Estee Lauder and a full size of that Naturapathica. I’ve used about 20% of Naturapathica and it’s heavenly at night. Anyways, not enough here to just get it for sunscreen.

Lizzy

That REN sunscreen is awful, the worst sunscreen I have ever tried hands down. It felt awful on my skin and smelled bad too. Got a sample in this year’s sephora sunscreen kit and have never hated an SPF so much.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

I agree. It’s the worst sunscreen I’ve ever used.

Reply ButtonReply

Ana

I knowww! It’s pretty awful. I don’t know what Ren was thinking. I’ve tried 3 of their products and I really disliked them.

I love this box and will use everything in it. After my last Causebox (Summer) or whatever they call themselves I am down to only BF. I always use most everything they send. The Living Proof is 15 dollars, the Naturopathica size is 25 dollars. I didn’t look at the value of the rest but this box is always worth it. I would rather receive less items of quality (like these) then a bunch of itty bitty samples. I have been with BF off and on for about 10 years and plan on keeping it. Just my opinion..

I feel this is a good box and on par with the $23 Allure. I wish Allure kept the same price and reduced productions. I like BeautyFix, but it was a ton of stuff. 5 items seems reasonable.

Reply ButtonReply

Boxy Fox

I love that spray. But nothing else is calling me.

JoJoB

I know people always accuse me of being a Dermstore plant when I comment on these boxes but I will use every single item in this box outside of the Estee Lauder which I will give to my mom and she will love it. I love the spring water but I have the big bottles so having a purse size makes me very happy. I have very dry skin and I am on tretinoin so any nice moisturizer is a win for me and I am very happy to try something new from this brand as the one thing I tried in the past (their cleaning balm) was amazing. My hair is frizz city in the summer and I like getting hair products in boxes. I use mineral sunscreen every single day so this will be used.

I have been a Beauty Fix subscriber for a long time so yes I know it is not the same as it used to be but I still find a lot of value in it. I like the products/brands they send. I am hanging in there until they start to send things I won’t use at all. Right now that is not the case.

The Cetaphil mineral sunscreen that came in the Allure May box was quite nice. I usually buy only chemical but I have enjoyed using the samples (I bought two May boxes and then received a third for some reason.)

And I like your opinions and what you have to say! ☺️

Reply ButtonReply

JoJoB

Aw thanks Snow! The feeling is mutual, I always appreciate your comments and enjoy your take on things. You made my day! 🙂

Also, I liked that Cetaphil from Allure as well. I was pretty impressed with how incredibly light it felt. Very nice. I have been using SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion Tinted sunscreen on my face for the last month or so (this is what I used back when I was on Accutane) because I like the tint it has to it but I am always willing to try a new mineral sunscreen. I am not opposed to chemical sunscreen for any reason other than the fact that I genuinely seem to have some kind of impairment that prohibits me from applying it without getting it in my eyes which will then burn for the rest of the day. It happens EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I have no idea what is wrong with me! 🙂

Christina

This box actually seems like an improvement over the last few months. I can’t get enough mineral sunscreen and if you live in dry heat, summer means moisturizer.

This isn’t a $100 value but it is more than $25.

Thanks so much for raising this! This is a technical glitch. Our engineer will be addressing this on Monday first thing. We absolutely want this feature onsite.

Thank you, I see that it works now.

I wondered the same thing! I miss getting emails with comments!

Me, too! They must want us to visit the site to read comments.

MSA may be looking to get us to visit the site to read the comments… Bad move on their part.

Jacqueline

After last month’s box I canceled and now seeing this month’s box, I am so glad I did! What a let down by BeautyFix, I was really worried I’d regret not getting the box this month, but I now realize that I would of been severely disappointed if I had stayed subscribed to this box. In the last several months its really taken a nose dive, really sad because I use to love this box…

Tiffany Nicole

Ugh what happened to BeautyFix? It used to be one of my favorite boxes but now I haven’t ordered one in over 6 months. I wish they would go back to being good again

Reply ButtonReply

Milena

I’m annoyed that Dermstore refers to the Living Proof item as full size in their email. I also always forget to review these boxes on their website..maybe if more people did they’d realize we’re not happy with recent boxes?

Reply ButtonReply

Snow

Where’s the rest

Reply ButtonReply

Iggy'sRock

😂😆. On top of that they look like repeats!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

I don’t even know how Dermstore can put out something like this in good conscience… 😒

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

I don’t care for the full size item this month, so it doesn’t make the rest worth it. That’s the downfall of this box. The older boxes had more items that would make up for it, but not any more.

Reply ButtonReply

Sherri

It just seems so… sparse. I guess this is the “new” BeautyFix, which I can’t seem to get used to. I unsubscribed a while ago and haven’t yet been tempted to return.

Reply ButtonReply

Nancy

Good analogy Sherri..I too unsubscribed a while ago and have no FOMO!

Reply ButtonReply

Ranee

And..just when I think it can’t get worse…

Reply ButtonReply

TK

My thoughts exactly! I’ve remained positive about this box for months but I think it’s time to admit…it’s gone downhill. How many times do we get that Avene spray? A cream for dry skin in the summer is not the best for heat and humidity.
