Stitch Fix Kids May 2021 Review

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $194, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $125.50. That's a savings of $68.50 on this Fix.

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. I let her know we were ready for some summer items but didn't need a bathing suit. I also asked for some basic flip flops for her, but it looks like they didn't have quite what I wanted so she sent some sandals instead.

Cady Slide Sandal by Capelli New York, Size 3/4 - Cost to Keep $20.00

These sandals are cute and fun with a gradient rainbow color on the straps covered in a nice glittery layer. The bottom of these is actually pretty substantial so they are comfortable and provide a bit more support than your average sandal or flip flop. She liked these a lot, but we actually just ended up getting a new pair recently so we didn't keep these.

Kensley Fit and Flare Dress, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

This flamingo dress is so cute and fun with the flamingos wearing glasses. It's really lightweight, which is great, but it's also just a tad see-through because of how thin the material is. While it's cute and I love the colors and the fact that it has pockets, I wasn't crazy about the fit or cut of the dress when it was on her. It ended up being just okay.

Persephone Swim Cover-Up by Andy & Evan, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $28.00

Since we weren't in need of a swimsuit, her stylist sent this beautiful coverup instead. The colors are great, the fit and style is really cute and those tassel details on the edges make it so unique, too. That being said, I don't think I could ever pay $28.00 for a kid's swim cover-up no matter how cute it was since it's an item that just doesn't get much use. I still think it was a great choice on the part of her stylist, though.

The Tiered Jersey Skirt by Bailey Lane, Size M - Cost to Keep $18.00

This lightweight skirt has a tiered look to it and is covered in rainbows and sunshine. Liv loved the bright colors right away and I liked that it was just a bit longer than other short skirts she has. It paired well with the next item, too!

The Tie Sleeve Graphic Tee by RUMI + RYDER, Size M - Cost to Keep $18.00

This deep pink top went nicely with her skirt due to the cute sequin rainbow at the center. This one was a little big on her (long!) but still wearable, and probably something that would work for her for a long time since it is a bit oversized. This one also had a cute tie detail at the sleeves that added to the cuteness.

The Smocked Waist Knit Short by RUMI + RYDER, Size M - Cost to Keep $16.00

These shorts are great, just soft cozy shorts with an elastic drawstring waist in a color that matches almost anything. They are comfortable and perfect for running around in and not too short.

The Tie-Front Graphic Tee by RUMI + RYDER, Size M- Cost to Keep $16.00

This shirt is another fun one with the tie waist and the cute little watermelon with the phrase "one in a melon". This shirt is soft and comfortable with a lot of stretch to it, making it another great option for playing and running around in.

The Knit Dolphin Short by RUMI + RYDER, Size M - Cost to Keep $16.00

These shorts are so pretty and I feel like they are the same print as a dress we might have received a while ago. I love the colors and the florals, although these might be a bit hard to match with. I wish her stylist had sent a shirt to pair with them for a complete outfit. I know a white top or blue might work well, but it's always appreciated when someone does the matching for me!

The Halter Swing Tank by Bixby Nomad, Size M - Cost to Keep $16.00

This was Liv's favorite item this month and I think I agree! The colors are just so pretty and the swing style halter top is such a cute look! It fits her well and is nice and cool for hot days. I want a matching one!

Selina Knit Denim Cuff Short by Hippie Girl, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $22.00

This girl drives me crazy with the way she goes back and forth on how she feels about jeans and jean shorts, but this month she liked them! These were stretchy and soft enough inside that she liked the feel of them and they had the adjustable waist which she needs at the moment while she waits for her body to catch up to her height again.

The Verdict: Liv's stylist did a great job with her fix this month. This Stitch Fix Kids delivery was perfect for summer with a lot of cute items and very few size issues for us. I liked that her stylist sent some unique items like the swim cover-up and sent us some sandals as an option when she couldn't find flip-flops for her. Overall, it was a great mix of fun styles and as always, I appreciated the convenience of being able to try these on at home and then easily send back what we didn't keep in the prepaid envelope they provided us with!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $194. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $125.50. That’s a discount of around 35% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I know I said this a couple months ago, but she sure is growing up before our eyes! I’d take a pair of those sandals in my size! Lol. Everything, but that first dress (def didn’t fit her well), looked great on her.

Haha thanks, MzBev! I agree on the shoes and definitely on the growing up part! They always tell you it happens so fast, but it’s so wild to actually witness it! 😩
