  • Oh My Garden!: Tea Tree & Grapefruit Shampoo Bar Retail Value: $13.22

  • RECESS: Hair Blotters Retail Value: $10
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics: Shimmer Powder in Harmony Retail Value: $15

The second box this month contains:

The Embody Collection (which I received) includes:

  • Inkling: Tigress Roll-on Scent 10ml Retail Value: $25
  • Oh My Garden!: Tea Tree & Grapefruit Shampoo Bar Retail Value: $13.22
  • Derma E: Hydrating Night Cream Retail Value: $29.50
  • RECESS: Hair Blotters Retail Value: $10
  • Bellapierre Cosmetics: Shimmer Powder in Earth Retail Value: $15

Inkling Roll-on Scent in Embody, 10ml - Retail Value $25.00

Inkling describes this scent as a strong oriental fragrance with notes of bergamot and mandarin. Vetiver oil carries this fragrance, which is where it gets its powdery, calming essence. This roll-on wore vibrantly for about 4 hours, but unfortunately, none of the mandarin or citrus notes were present on me. This scent isn't my preference, but my mother-in-law will absolutely adore this fragrance.

Oh My Garden! Tea Tree & Grapefruit Shampoo Bar - Retail Value $17.00

The more I try shampoo bars, the more I enjoy using them. This bar provided a great lather that I concentrated throughout my scalp, and I used a scalp massaging brush to really get a good clean. This shampoo was very cleansing and I enjoyed the very faint fragrance. I noticed that my hair seemed dry when I didn't use this with conditioner, but my hair looked great! Awesome volume and my waves really came out, even without any other product.

Derma E Hydrating Night Cream, 2oz - Retail Value $29.50

This night cream is lovely! It is ultra-moisturizing, it sinks into your skin providing hydration and a supple glow in the morning. Hyaluronic acid provides endless moisture while aloe soothes and green tea gives your skin an antioxidant boost. The only thing I would change about this brilliant product is its packaging. It is such a bummer when a great product has jar packaging; it exposes potent ingredients to air and over time it breaks them down, not to mention, dipping your fingers into a pot every night isn't very hygienic.

RECESS Hair Blotters, 25 sheets - Retail Value $10.00

I found these sheets very handy! If you're looking for an instant fix for an oily or sweaty 'do, these may be your temporary ticket. Charcoal draws out impurities and helps to soak up excess oils; it does a decent job of fixing an oily scalp and roots, but the effects didn't last. It was enough to help me make a dignified exit from the gym, but I definitely couldn't replace my dry shampoo with this product. These are very travel-friendly, so I'll absolutely be keeping these in my bag for when I am in a bind.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder in Earth - Retail Value $15.00

Loose powders are not the most convenient to use on the fly, but some of my favorite products are loose shimmers that are worth that extra effort. This powder looks stunning on the eyelids and cheekbones for a nice pink highlight.

This peachy champagne can look subtle on the skin, or you can go ham with it for an intergalactic shine; either way, the pink tones really add a youthful glow to the complexion.

Verdict: April's Kinder Beauty Box was a fresh start to the spring season! The Derma-E moisturizer is fierce! It will last for months, and my skin will just bask in the hyaluronic acid every night from here out. I am also pleasantly surprised with this month's haircare choices; the blotting sheets and shampoo bar are such fun and different products, I was happy to try them out. This month's retail value comes to $96.50; for a $26 box, I think that is a fantastic value!

Were both boxes the same or am I missing something?

The scent of the fragrance and the color of the shimmer powder were different, those were the only differences. Oh yeah, and the reviewer didn’t call out the fact that the shimmer powder she received isn’t vegan.

The shimmers are definitely vegan. The ingredients list says “may contain carmine.” This just means that it’s made in a shared facility. I verified with the brand that the ingredients list does not have carmine. There’s also no red in the shades chosen, which is what carmine is used to create.

That little shampoo bar is so cute!
