February 2021 Ignis Vellabox Review

Each box comes with an info card detailing the candles featured that month:

Included in our Vellabox was an info card with extra details on the brand and the scent that is in this month's box.

Now, on to the candle.

Nightshift Wax Co. Earl Grey Candle, 9 oz - Retail Value $25.00

Earl Grey is my favorite tea, so I was excited to pull this candle out of its drawstring bag and see the scent this month! While it doesn't smell exactly like the way I prepare this tea, it does smell like a cup of Earl Grey that has some lemon added and a background of very soft flowers. I really, really love it. The 100% USA-grown soy wax candle burns evenly and the scent has a great throw in my living room and adds warmth and a little sharp citrus to the air. This is the sort of scent that is clean, bright, kind of sexy, and energizing. I absolutely love it in my home.

And each Vellabox also comes with a little treat like a food or beauty item:

Georgette Klinger Volcanic Mineral Scrub, 15 mL - Estimated Value $3.60 (buy 125 mL for $30.00)

This little bottle is filled with a scrubby exfoliant with very fine volcanic sand. It is a gentle sort of scrub, suitable for your face and awesome for removing dead skin. It also has a great scent and was kind of a fun surprise to be included with our candle this month. Made the whole thing feel like some sort of cool candle x beauty box. Why isn't there one of those?! I would totally sub.

Verdict: This month's Vellabox candle was marvelous. I loved the scent and I totally plan on purchasing another one of these as Will is a big fan too. I also liked that the little extra surprise was a beauty product this month, truly combining two of my greatest loves: candles and skincare.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I signed up for the vivere(?) box with 2 candles. Im not too impressed – while they both smelled wonderful unlit, I felt there was no fragrance really once lit. My favorite candle still is the Bath & Body works eucalyptus tea.

I haven’t burned this one yet because I’m working through another candle right now, but I LOVE IT. I hope it burns for me as well as it smells unlit.

I’m a fairly new subscriber to Vellabox, and each scent has been pretty wonderful. I think I am hooked!

I just got mine today and have it on now. I loved the way it smelled right out of the box and am thinking about upgrading my membership. This was my first box and I’m kicking myself for not getting the Ignis or Vivere for 50% off, but I got my candle for $8 so I guess I’m ok. Also, I ordered at the end of the month and got Feb’s box, so apparently ordering after the 20th can still get you that month’s box if they have enough.

I used the MSA Galantines coupon to get the “Vivere” version of this box, which also included a 4oz “Rose Garden” candle. I absolutely loved both the Earl Grey & Rose Garden scents and the beautiful amber glass they came in. Such a great deal for high quality candles.
Looking forward to what comes in next month’s box!

One of my absolute favorites from this sub. I’d wear this scent as a perfume. I plan to buy another, too.

I’d totally subscribe to a candle/skincare box!

I definitely must have received a bad batch of the earl grey candle… (I don’t know why my previous comment didn’t post)

Thank you for your review! I ordered this month and I might have received a bad batch, because my candle smells like a cough drop, a mix of lemon peel and eucalyptus. Not what I was expecting. No trace of bergamot. On top of that, there is no detectable fragrance once I burn it, I can actually smell more the burning wick than the fragranced wax. I was extremely disappointed.
On the bright side, I got another candle with my subscription, it’s tinier, being only 4oz, but it fills my apartment with a floral smell.

Izzie, I agree. The big candle had no scent while burning, while the rose candle was almost overpowering.

I agree with Megan. This candle is awesome and Earl Grey is my favorite tea. I was able to get two of these candles and what a treat. I will go try the face scrub today. I forgot about it. lol
