Indie Lee Stem Cell Serum, 30 mL - Retail Value $135.00

I have enjoyed many of the Indie Lee products I have tried, but the price tags make them very difficult for me to justify purchasing. One of the reasons I love this brand is actually the founder Indie Lee herself. She survived a brain tumor, got super interested in a healthier lifestyle, and specifically, better, safer, and healthier skincare formulations so as to avoid chemicals that could make people sick. It is a really cool founder's story that I highly recommend anyone doing a deep dive into.

Anyway, this serum is one that kind of sneaks up on you. The clear gel texture actually feels like next to nothing on your face. In fact, it is so non-descript that it would be easy to fall into the belief that this potion wasn't actually doing anything. The actives inside are antioxidant-rich and anti-aging-focused and I personally prefer to use this product at night, after a good cleanse, and before a heavy night cream. Sure, the actives inside can be found in other products – plant stem cells aren't that unusual in skincare these days, and ingredients like hyaluronic acid are (thankfully) becoming super mainstream. But almost as important as what is in this goo is what isn't. The whole ingredient list is only 16 items long and ridiculously thoughtful and clean. So, while I may not have the coil to justify a repurchase, I feel giddy at this being inside the box this month.

Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner, 30 mL - Listed Value $10.00

As a toner enthusiast hoarder, I was a little bummed this wasn't a full-size product. It is all good though, because this toner is creamier than most and a little goes a long way. I recommend spraying into your palms and patting onto your face, as the nozzle isn't exactly the "misting" type. I found that out the hard way. Inside this bottle is some skin-loving stuff! Though this boasts another super short, 12-ingredient list, my favorites were Q10 which is an excellent antioxidant, hyaluronic acid (hello hydration), and roman chamomile, a soothing plant extract. You can use a toner like this throughout the day, but if you want to build it into a routine, try it after cleansing and before a serum.

Verdict: This month's The Clean Beauty Box was worth $145 and delivered a brand I would absolutely love to add more of to my routine. Until then though, I am thrilled to see it in a box. Ingredients that perform, a great founder story and beautiful packaging make this line a total delight. I can't wait to use this serum more over time and really see what happens.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Hi Megan!

If you don’t have an aversion to getting skincare from TJ Maxx/Marshalls, sometimes they have Indie Lee products online. I’ve seen their body oil in store, but no skincare yet. Right now they really don’t have anything (just the Rosehip Cleanser for $19.99) but I have seen more in the past, and products are always coming & going with them. 🙂

Love this! I need to frequent the shops in the fancier areas around here. I have only seen this brand ONCE and it was the body scrub. I am going to go hunting this weekend!

Oh! And Ulta sells some of their products too, and occasionally has their products on sale for 50% off (or you can use points to get the products free) 🙂

Woo hoo!! Thanks Luna!!

Luna

Hi B! Ulta will have Indie Lee’s Brightening Cleanser & CoQ10 toner 50% off on 3/25 (online only) 🙂

Luna

Oh! And if you currently have an Ulta rewards account, right now (thru 3/13) they’re offering 5x points on all Women Founded brands, which includes Indie Lee! 🙂 (just make sure to activate the offer in your account)

Luna

They can go on sale during different “events”, and their next sales event is their 21 Days of Beauty which runs from 3/16-4/3 where they put different select products on sale for 50% off for one day only each day of the event. I’ve seen Indie Lee products marked down during these events (although not the full range that Ulta carries at one time). The list of items that you can get on sale both online & in store doesn’t list any Indie Lee products this time (that I’ve noticed), but starting tomorrow they will show all items included in the sale including online only deals and select Indie Lee products could easily be a part of the online only deals. 🙂

Great tips Luna! Is there an easy way to know when they go on sale at Ulta? Their emails were so overwhelming I unsubbed. I want to buy the cleanser so much but I’m drowning in cleanser!

Another great review that made me want a box I didn’t originally want. My wallet thanks you for publishing this too late for me to purchase.

Chris

I agree. I would have also purchased this after the review if it wasn’t too late to purchase. My wallet thanks you too 🙂 I love their face cleanser.
