Medusa's Make-Up March 2021 "Aloha!" Review

Along with my beauty items, I received an info card that details what items are in the box. This month also included a free lippie with a purchase over $30.00 promo and free shipping code!

Plant Fusion Collagen Beauty, 10 g – Listed Retail Value $4.99

(Buy 15 single servings for $35.85 or subscribe and save 15%)

Diving right in with our first product, which is a BONUS product this month! Collagen beauty is a plant-based collagen boosting supplement that supports smooth, luminous and nourished skin. I received a single serving size in the flavor citrus.

I poured the dietary supplement powder in a water bottle and shook for a good 10 seconds. I should have probably stated in the beginning that I'm not a fan of including flavored powder anything in my water. So, no surprise, I didn't enjoy it... at all. I couldn't get past the first sip sadly. I'll stick to just water for clear skin.

Medusa's Makeup Baked Eyeshadow, 4 g – Retail Value $14.00

This baked eyeshadow is a new item and is in the color Just a Girl. I love the packaging of this shadow. Upon initial look, I thought this shadow was another light gold color (and there's nothing wrong with that- I love a nice gold!), but this is actually a metallic blush color.

Pretty and dainty.

Love Byrd Tinted Lip Balm, 8 g –  Retail Value $8.00

I love a good tinted lip balm! It provides a little hint of color so your lips don't look dull and boring, but also keeps your lips moisturized.  This tinted balm is in the color pout and makes me want to do a cute little pouty face with my lips.

So have I mastered the pouty look? The color is a pretty reddish brown tint, and felt incredibly nourishing on my lips. This item will stay in my purse for that on-the-go glam and moisture.

Medusa's Makeup Liquid Eyeshadow, 10 fl oz– Retail Value $14.00

This liquid blue shadow is in the color Sophia and gives me Frozen vibes – shimmery and frosted.  I admit, this is probably not a color I'd wear, but I do think it's very pretty.

On second thought, this could be a fun eye makeup look on me, but not one I'd do myself.  I'd need a MUA to help me out so I don't look like a blueberry trying to do this solo  🙂

Medusa's Makeup Liquid Matte Lipstick, .2 fl oz – Retail Value $14.00

Our last item in this month's box is a matte lippie in the color Whip. I really love this color! I'm always looking for a nice nude color to wear, and this item is a nice blend between nude and pink.

When Medusa states their matte lipsticks are all day wear, you'd best believe them! This liquid matte goes on smoothly and dries in just a couple minutes. I had a hard time taking this off. I definitely like a matte that will stay, but not one I necessarily have to fight with to get off before bed. In the grand scheme of things though, it's going to stay on all day for that flawless look, so I'll suck it up.

Verdict: This month's box was giving me all the Spring vibes and I was here for it! The lip products this month were my fave! I love the colors of both the tinted balm and the matte lipsticks. I wasn't impressed with the PlantFusion powdered supplement. It didn't taste good, and I just think good ol' water is best for truly clear skin. I received $54.99 worth of items which is a really good price compared to the $18.95 you are paying.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll likely receive next month's box. Orders are generally processed within 1-3 business days.

Value Breakdown: At $18.95 for this box, here's what you're paying for each item:

  • Liquid Shadow- $4.82
  • Baked Shadow- $4.82
  • Matte Lipstick- $4.82
  • Tinted Balm - $2.76
  • PlantFusion - $1.72

The eyeshadow lists carmine as a colorant therefore it isn’t vegan as their label insists, since carmine is made up of crushed insects. Those ingredients are also different from what they have listed online (and the size isn’t the same) but of course you have to go by what they put on their product.

Wow, good catch! They really even try to hide it as the last ingredient!

This whole line is made in China so I don’t trust any of the labels.

Too cute! I haven’t had much luck with liquid eyeshadows when I’ve tried them, but I’ve found my liquid matte lipstick makes an incredible base. It’s all very Emilia Fart esque.

I hate how big their lip balm is. I always get it all over my lips!
