Keto Krate March 2021 Review

Each time I write this review, I notice how fast time flies, and like last month, I am astonished to see March already here. I noted last month I had lost about 5 pounds, and sadly that hasn't changed much over the past month. We fell into a cold snap with -40 weather, and I couldn't help myself from cooking comfort food and becoming a bit lazy. This month, we have seen above-average temperatures, and I am (not so patiently) waiting for spring to arrive with weight loss goals in mind! I was excited to receive this Keto Krate box to refill my lunch box add-in station with new and tasty treats! Scroll down to see what kind of items I received this month.

Each month we receive a brightly colored pamphlet that gives us a bit of a kick-start each month. While it doesn't include information about the included items, we do get a sample start-up menu, recipes, coupon codes, and success stories. All of the information is very helpful in encouraging and motivating me to stick with this lifestyle. As usual, we also received the links to the month's product info in Krate Club, and tips on how to manage your subscription. I love how each month sticks to the holiday theme -- just look at that colorful rainbow!

Big Fork Brands Original Craft Pork Stick - Buy a sample pack of 3 for $7.99

Fat 2.5g | Net Carbs 5g | Taste Score: 10/10

If you have read any of my reviews, you know the hot ticket item in this box for my family is anything meat-related. We previously would receive two meat items, but I have noticed they have cut that down to one in the past few boxes, which has been breaking my son's heart! Anyways, this particular pork stick is everything you could want in a meat stick -- meaty texture, not too fine, not too coarse, smoky, with just the right amount of salt. With three mouths drooling for a taste, it didn't last long and had us all wishing for another meat item.

Hilo Life Piece-A-Pizza Crispy Mozzarella Cheese & Walnuts - Buy a 6 pack for $14.94

Fat 21g | Net Carbs 4g | Taste Score: 10/10

I love cheese and nut combos, and this mozzarella and walnut version was really good. Packed with pizza flavoring, I would definitely say this reminds me of pizza. I found the ratio of nuts and cheese perfect, as too much cheese can sometimes be overpowering, but this was really good. I do have to say I was a bit shocked to see it comes in at 4g of net carbs per serving, which seemed a little high for such a small packet, but they were really delicious and worth it.

The Cookie Department Mint Condition Cookie - Buy a pack of 8 for $23.99

Fat 21g | Net Carbs 3g | Taste Score: 5/10

I really wanted to like this cookie...Seeing the pretty St. Patrick's Day green packaging, and reading the delicious sounding name "Mint Condition" literally had my mouth watering, but I was left a bit disappointed. I found the texture to be good -- I see from the packaging that it had been improved, and I really did enjoy that part, but the flavor was just too much. At first taste, the mint slowly came in lightly with a mellow chocolate flavor, but then the mint overtook the chocolate and became very strong and cold tasting, almost like eating a straight-up mint leaf. I liked the little bits of coconut in the cookie for extra texture, but couldn't get over the over-the-top mint flavor. Maybe their "Champion Chip" cookie would be more my style.

WeDoKeto - Keto Everything Crackers - Buy a pack of 3 for $17.97

Fat 7g | Net Carbs 1g | Taste Score: 10/10

If you enjoy "everything seasoning" you are going to like these crackers. Made from almond flour, flax seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, onion, pink salt, black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, and rosemary, these crackers are savory and delicious. While they aren't as crunchy as a typical cracker, for a keto cracker they are about perfect. As you can see, they do crumble a bit, but the flavor is there above all. I highly recommend these!

Ross Chocolates Milk Chocolate Flavored Thins with Lemon Coconut - Buy a pack of 8 for $39.99

Fat 11g | Net Carbs 3g | Taste Score: 10/10

I have tried Ross Chocolates Dark Chocolate thins before and found them divine, so when I saw this milk chocolate version I literally jumped for joy....then I see the lemon and coconut addition...hmmm....does lemon work with milk chocolate?! What is this pairing?! I like lemonade and I LOVE chocolate, but putting the two together seems just weird. But because I am an equal opportunity chocolate eater, I had to try it, and it totally works! The sweet creamy chocolate is noticeable first with a light hint of citrus, mixed with an almost roasted coconut texture equaling a delightful springy dessert. Surprising, and delicious.

CanDo Keto Krisp Almond Butter - Retail Value $2.99

Fat 18g | Net Carbs 4g | Taste Score: 9/10

Almond butter is one of my favorite snacks, so I was really excited to try this keto krisp bar. While not as crispy as I was hoping, I found the almond butter flavoring to be just sweet enough to make this protein bar taste almost like dessert. I enjoyed the varying texture and the bits of almond sprinkled throughout, and would definitely buy these to stash in the center console of my car.

Ketologic Keto Indulge Dark Chocolate Candy Hazelnut - Buy a 12 pack for $23.99

Fat 11g | Net Carbs 1g | Taste Score: 5/10

While I prefer milk chocolate, I do enjoy dark chocolate now and again for a change of pace. These beautiful ribbed, hazelnut dark chocolates look swoon-worthy, but I just didn't enjoy the flavor. They look like they'd be chewy but they are actually quite hard and just very bitter. If I absolutely needed something sweet, I might eat these, so I plan on putting them in my desk drawer at work in case of a chocolate emergency.

Munk Pack Coconut Almond Dark Chocolate Bar - Buy a pack of 12 for $24.99

Fat 12g | Net Carbs 3g | Taste Score: 10/10

Now, this is dark chocolate that I could live on!!! This coconut almond dark chocolate bar seriously tastes similar to a Girl Scout's Samoa but coming in at only 3 net carbs. I am seriously obsessed with this bar, and have already clicked the "buy now" button! The flaky coconut, bits of nuts, and almost a caramel flavor, topped off with dark chocolate has this bar ranking as one of the best I have ever eaten. How did I not know about this?

Keto Wise Chocolate Pecan Clusters - Buy a 16 pack for $19.99

Fat 11g | Net Carbs 21g | Taste Score: 10/10

We are hitting the jackpot today, folks. We have another chocolate winner in the house! These chocolate pecan clusters are dangerously similar to a chocolate turtle, and I am tempted to purchase more but am worried I may not be able to stop at one pack. These literally taste like they are filled with sugar -- in the best way possible. Maybe I'll buy a small package...just to have on hand for Easter.

IQ Bar Banana Nut - Buy a pack of 12 for $24.99

Fat 12g | Net Carbs 3g | Taste Score: 8/10

If you are a fan of bananas, this bar is for you. I enjoy banana bread, and maybe a muffin here or there, but this bar packs a bit more of a banana punch than either of those things. Crunchy and sweet, this bar has 12g of plant-based protein and only 1g of sugar. I can say it is definitely filling and good, but it's hard to top all of those delicious chocolatey treats I tried first.

Bunker Hill Crunchy Cheese Crisps - Retail Value $3.75

Fat 15g | Net Carbs 0g | Taste Score: 8/10

Similar to the cheese and walnut pizza-flavored snacks we had above, these cheese crisps too were flavored with pizza seasoning. I do have to say, they were not as potent as the walnuts, and I really couldn't pull a pizza flavoring from it. I noticed a slightly acidic tomato flavor with maybe a hint of basil, but otherwise, these just tasted sharply of cheese. I enjoyed these crisps, and loved them on a salad, but did prefer the pizza snack mix for the actual pizza flavoring.

SuperSeedz Somewhat Spicy Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds - Buy a 5 oz package for $5.25

Fat 13g | Net Carbs 2g | Taste Score: 10/10

As a pumpkin farmer, I am always excited to try out various flavors of pumpkin seeds. I love the versions that have no shells, and this somewhat spicy flavoring is delish. I would gladly try any flavor of these tasty treats, but found the spicy variety perfect for flavoring my salad, and just as a plain snack!

JiMMY! Protein Bar - Macadamia Nut - Buy a pack of 24 for $34.99

Fat 16g | Net Carbs 4g | Taste Score: 7/10

After all of the flavorful items in this month's box, our last item was a bit blah. Focusing on high protein and low sugar, this bar is filled with functional ingredients but just lacks flavor. I liked the chewiness of the bar and the specks of macadamia nut for texture but found it a bit greasy, and a little boring. I would like to see how the blueberry nut bar compared in terms of taste, as I think I would have enjoyed that flavor combo more.

The Verdict: Keto Krate has hooked me up with some of my favorite brands, and is always helping me stumble upon new brands and flavors that I might not have picked out myself. Sticking to a keto diet can be hard, but with the vast amounts of new brands and food options, it is easier to stay the course. While I would love to see more meat items in the box, I did appreciate the mixture of savory and sweet snacks this month. Keto snacks tend to be expensive, so this box helps me decide which brands to purchase more of on a larger scale without wasting a ton of money on things I don't like. I can't wait to see what I discover next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Unfortunately, no. If you subscribe today, your first box will be the April box.

Value Breakdown: The box costs $39.99 + free shipping which means that each of the 13 items has an average cost of $3.07. I also want to share that on their website, it states the retail value of this month's products is $42.51, but you would pay $77.55 in shipping costs for each product, plus you would have to spend $37.72 to get the discount code savings of minimum orders for each product, which would bring your total value to $157.78, so I think $39.99 is a pretty good price to test out different snacks and find new faves!

I also receive this box, and they must have flavor variations, because I got the Cookie Department cookie in “Birthday Cake” flavor, and it was the best Keto cookie I’ve ever eaten. Actually it is one of the best cookies I’ve ever eaten, period. And I received the Ross Chocolates in Milk Chocolate and they were AWESOME. They didn’t last long!

Hey guys, I have to apologize, I was totally wrong. I hadn’t yet received my Keto Krate (it came yesterday) and I was apparently thinking of a few products from a previous Krate. My box is exactly what Becca has reviewed here. Sorry! Maybe I wasn’t thinking straight because I needed a snack. Now I have lots of snacks! 🙂
