Bespoke Post "Kempt" Review

The box comes with a card to let you know what's in the box. On the back is a diagram to help you decide whether or not you should wash your hair today. I personally do not shampoo my hair every single time I take a shower, but I also don't have a schedule for when I do. Maybe I will follow this guide and see how my hair feels after a couple of weeks.

Maapilim Shampoo, 8.4 oz - Retail Value $19.00

I'm not lying to you when I say this is the best smelling shampoo I have ever used. I smelled my hands in the shower a lot. The scent is called "Niko" and is made with birch, oakmoss, wood smoke, and vetiver. It has a kind of citrus-like, orange peel zest fragrance to it as well. I was so impressed with the scent, I made my wife smell my hair first thing when she got home.

Maapilim Conditioner, 3.4 oz - Estimated Value $7.50 (Full size is $19)

The shampoo smelled so nice, I almost felt sorry to cover it up with the conditioner. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy its scent as well. It is called "Los Perlos" and made with oud wood. The woody scent is very soothing and masculine. The conditioner left my hair feeling full, but not greasy or too dry.

Curiously, this is the only item in the box that was not full size. In fact, I don't see anywhere on their site that you can even buy this size. So I estimated the value.

Maapilim Soap, 8.4 oz - Retail Value $19.00

I used this as a body wash and now I'm wondering if that was correct, because the website shows it with a pump handle next to a sink. The site says "suitable for hands and body" and they have an item called "hand soap." So maybe I'm in the clear. Either way, I really enjoyed this item as well. The scent is called "Pacific" and smells like red grapefruit. Just like everything else, it smells wonderful and left my body feeling very clean and smooth.

Maapilim Face Cleanser, 4 oz - Retail Value $18.00

Although I am not a big self-care product kind of guy, I always use face wash and love trying new ones. This scent is called "Atlantic" and has bergamot, jasmine, and cedarwood elements. The site says it's "enriched with aloe vera and witch hazel for a cleansing and revitalizing effect." My face certainly felt cleansed and bright. I wasn't as "wowed" with this item as I was with the others. I still really like it, but felt it just did its job and the scent was my least favorite, but only because the others were so great.

Maapilim Face Mud Mask, 3.7 oz - Retail Value $38.00

I have never done a mud mask before, so this was uncharted territory for me. It felt kind of tribal to paint my face and I liked the way it felt tight on my skin after it dried. And, of course, it smelled nice, too. This scent is also called "Atlantic" and has hints of bergamot, jasmine, and cedarwood as well. My face feels very soft and smooth. When reviewing items like this, I often like them, but always feel like I should use them for a few weeks to know how I really feel about their effects. For what it's worth, I was certainly impressed just using it one time.

Verdict: This is my first Bespoke Post review and due to a miscommunication on my end, I got a box I wouldn't have normally ordered for myself. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by these products. I do not typically pamper myself in any way, but find myself excited to use these products and tell others about them. Everything was great, but I'm going to pick the shampoo and conditioner combo as my favorite. The fragrances were incredible. In fact, they were for the whole box. Everything smelled so natural and soothing. The value of this box clocks in at $101.50. That is with the estimated value of the small conditioner. Still, that is more than twice the cost. I typically have a difficult time spending money on self-care products and would be unlikely to splurge on higher-end items like these. However, receiving them for this price – essentially half off – was nice and, if I had this subscription personally, could see myself grabbing the "Kempt" box every once and a while just to replenish these items.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes. Or you can pick from one of several rotating boxes.

I would have loved to see your tribal mud mask! I got great imagery reading this and really enjoyed it. Thank you!

If I’m being honest, it was more like the scene from “Predator” where Arnold Schwarzenegger covers himself in mud to hide from the alien’s thermo-vision. You know what I mean? Thanks for commenting.
