Stitch Fix Kids January 2021 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, they always include an envelope with a prepaid shipping label for easy returns and exchanges. Usually, there is a sticker sheet, too, but ours was missing this month.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $210.00, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20.00) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $137.50. That's a savings of $72.50 on this Fix.

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist. I didn't have any requests this month, but her stylist noted that she sent some cozy styles since I've made her aware of Liv's love for soft comfy clothing!

Celebrity Pink Tammie Pull On Skinny Jean, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $20.00

Liv does not like jeans and rarely (if ever) wears them. She did actually say that they were soft and she liked them... just not enough to keep them. I thought they were nice, and I liked the fit. They were a tad big at the waist, but not so much that they were falling down, just a little bit of room to grow. They are stretchy with an elastic waistband and a faux button at the front and while they are similar to jeggings, the fact that they fit her loosely made them seem more like regular jeans.

Nine One Eight Armanda Varsity Top, Size S - Cost to Keep $14.00

This top is really cute, but a bit too sporty for Liv's style. She and I both really liked the color and she commented that it was very "smooth" which I think translated to comfortable and soft. I thought the fit on this one was great, with the longer hemline in the back. Very cute, reasonably priced, just not quite her style!

Nine One Eight Nancy Lace Up Back Top, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00

This sweater was her favorite item this month which really surprised me! The stripes are way more my style than hers, but I think she was in love with how soft this sweater was. It was super soft and even though the fit is a bit big on her, it seems to be incredibly cozy. I like the fun detail on the back and even though she looks way too grown up to me, I think it's a cute look for her!

RUMI + RYDER Aderyn Graphic Dress, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

This dress is such a great kid's dress! The cute sequin heart in the center is actually similar to another top she has which she liked and the swing style of the skirt means it flares out perfectly when she twirls. I love that it's long and flowy and that it has pockets! This is a dress that could be paired with leggings for cold weather but easily transition to spring and summer without them. That being said, it was much more of a casual dress so I would have expected a slightly lower price point for this one.

Neon Soul Monie Sequin Pocket French Terry Jogger, Size S - Cost to Keep $22.00

Liv was all about these joggers! I thought they were really fun too with the sequined pockets. The pants themselves were nicer joggers and I thought the fit was great. She commented that they were "smooth on the inside and soft on the outside" and very comfortable. They were nicely made and the sequins were layered making them seem like they would last longer than you'd expect.

Runway The French Terry Lace Up Hoodie, Size M - Cost to Keep $24.00

Liv liked this hoodie that her stylist sent along, too. The color is so pretty, and the lace-up detail at the neckline makes it more interesting. This was another that she described as "soft outside and smooth inside." This was another of her favorite pieces this month.

Squeeze Ameliya Dress & Denim Jacket Set, Size 8 - Cost to Keep $34.00

This jacket and dress combo came attached, so we did our best to photograph it without separating them. I knew she would love the dress part - what's not to love, the colors are so bright and fun, it is stretchy and soft and I really love the sleeve length, but I knew she would never wear the jacket. It's so cute together though! I think I am going to ask her stylist for a similar dress next month since she liked it so much.

Bailey Lane Milanie Smocked Jumpsuit, Size M - Cost to Keep $28.00

This jumpsuit is so gorgeous! Those colors, the beautiful florals, the fluttery sleeves, the way the pants fit; everything was perfect on this one! It even had pockets, which is always fun. While we both liked this one a lot, she thought that the smocked top was a little itchy on her back and even though the length is just right at the moment, I worry she is going to outgrow it too quickly since any bit of growth would make it too short on her. I really want something for myself in this beautiful fabric though!

Suzette Collection Tiffani High Waisted Legging, Size M - Cost to Keep $12.00

These leggings are great! They are somewhat loose-fitting which I loved and so soft and almost airy. They are not the thickest leggings, but they have a nice comfortable high waist and Liv decided she had to have them the moment she tried them on.

Nine One Eight Dayna Cross Back Tunic, Size S- Cost to Keep $14.00

I believe we have this identical top from a past fix, but I wasn't able to find it to confirm. This top is another super soft one, it has a cute rounded hem and a fun criss-cross detail at the back and if it is the same one, it holds up really well over time. The material on this one might be a tad thinner than ours was, but it is stretchy and a great shirt for any time.

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix Kids delivery had a lot of great items in store for my daughter. We actually had no major fit issues this month, which I think is great and means her stylist is definitely listening to our feedback. My daughter found a few pieces she loved and we got to try on a few fun items like the dress and jacket combo and that gorgeous jumpsuit. I felt like this month's pieces were more reasonably priced than some other Fixes we have received, too. Although, of course, some items might cost a bit more than some retail stores but the convenience of having it all delivered to your door and selected just for you definitely adds some value for us!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20.00 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $210.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $137.50. That’s a discount of around 35% for these items!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Did she just have a growing spurt? She looks so tall, all the sudden! I always love her curls! When my daughter was about her age, she chopped her hair! She is a curly girl too. I cried!! Now she embraces her hair, thankfully!

Probably! This girl won’t stop growing! Haha.

Agh I would definitely cry, too if she cut her hair! I don’t think she ever would – she’s somewhat particular about her hair – even though she never brushes it. Lol. I’m so curious to see what it will be like when she is older! Hopefully she’ll embrace it like your daughter! 🙂

I think the hoodie got accidentally mislabeled as a dress, there – from the invoice sheet it looks like the Runway hoodie, not a bell sleeved dress. 🙂

Oops! Thanks so much for catching that, Jennifer! All fixed now! 🙂
