February 2021 So Susan Color Curate Review

This month came with a product information card.

Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, February 2021 - Retail Value $12.00

This month's bag has a more empowering Valentine's quote on it. It says, 'It's Not Your Job To Love Me, It's Mine.' I love the bold floral, red and pink tones, and the message of self-love. I am passing this onto my teenage niece to help her remember the best love story is the one with herself!

So Susan Cosmetics Buffing Brush - Retail Value $24.95

This feels like a professional-grade brush and I am loving it! It is made with synthetic nylon & Taklon hairs that are packed in tightly to make it that perfect buffer. I have been using this to apply and blend my cream blush, but it would be great for a foundation application as well. This really is a brush that I am going to be able to keep for years to come!

Trifle Cosmetics Buttercream Hydrating Lotion, 1.1 fl oz. - Retail Value $7.95

When I first put this lotion on, my husband asked if I had just eaten popcorn. It honestly has a strong buttery scent to it that can be a little overwhelming at first. My kids are loving it though, which is great for me because their skin is very dry, but since this smells so yummy they aren't fighting me when I apply it to their hands. The lotion is thick without being sticky and absorbs quickly into my skin. It provides wonderfully intense hydration that leaves my hand feeling silky smooth, like butter if you will.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Coffee + Coconut Lip Scrub, 0.35 fl oz. - Retail Value $19.00

Wow, this has a super-strong coffee flavor to it! If you don't like coffee this is not the scrub for you. Lucky for me, I love coffee and the scrub had very little of a coconut scent or flavor. It also worked really well on exfoliating and repairing my dry lips. I love wearing lipstick, especially ones with a matte finish, so having silky smooth lips is key for that perfect application. Even though I use balm a ton, that isn't always what I need to repair dry winter lips. A little bit of this scrub went a long way though in repairing those dry spots. All you have to do is apply a pea size to scrub onto your lips, rinse, and then pat dry. This scrub has a shea butter base along with pure golden sugar, jojoba, and rosehip oil. This is the perfect item to receive in a winter box!

Trifle Cosmetics Rose Meringue Eyeshadow & Luminzier Palette - Retail Value $39.00

Another beautiful palette! The case is so heavy with the full-size mirror, it honestly makes me feel so chic when I use it. The palette has eyeshadows and two luminzier shades. The shadows are made with Sweet Cherry Kernel Oil, Cabbage Rose, and Sugar Maple extracts help to keep skin nourished and restored. The shadows all applied really well and went on pretty dark from the start so I found myself needing to blend rather than build to get my desired shade. The deep purple reminds me of a shadow that I used to wear every day during my freshman year of high school so I know I will be rocking this new shade a lot throughout the winter. This is another palette that I am happy to add to my collection!

Verdict: This month's So Susan Color Curate was filled with high-quality products that just make me feel chic when I use them. My favorite item this month was the buffer. It is a professional grade brush that is perfect to use for blending and applying all cream-based makeups like blush or foundation. I didn't know how badly I needed this brush in my collection! The palette is another super sturdy case with beautiful eyeshadows and two highlighters that are all shades that I tend to reach for on a daily basis. The lip scrub is just what I needed to get my lips in order as a lipstick lover. This month has a value of $102.90 which is an incredible deal for a $20.95 bag. This bag is quickly becoming a favorite for me, bringing it every month with quality products that I never realized how badly I needed. I know a lot of people don't love getting a palette every month, but I really enjoy them. It allows me to play with my look which I really am starting to do more often now! If one doesn't work for me right now I can always tuck it away until the summer when I have more of a glow to my skin, or I can always pass a palette along to my mom who is a big makeup lover. This little bag is always packed with fun beauty products and I can't get enough of it!

Lovely review! I had this sub for awhile and loved it for being color cosmetic-focused (as the name suggests). But it is nice to see some things included to switch it up, like the brush and scrub.

This is a quality subscription. They always send the 3 related brands (So Susan, Trifle Cosmetics and Jelly Pong Pong) but you get 4 full size items for just under $21. And they are all vegan, cruelty-free and minus a lot of nasty ingredients.
I canceled only because I couldn’t afford it anymore but if I can swing it in the future you bet I’ll re-subscribe!

With so many beauty boxes out there you’d think there would be more that just send makeup or mostly makeup, like this one. I’ll continue to hunt!
