Laurel & Reed January 2021 Review

As always, the packaging and presentation are beautiful!

The first card is just a general L&R info card while the second has specific info about the items and brands included inside.

MALAYA ORGANICS Rejuvenating Face Serum, 25 mL - Retail Value $95.00

What an adorable little bottle! It is almost perfectly round and comes with a built-in glass dropper+pump cap that allows you to dispense the perfect amount for your face, drop by drop. This golden oil blend features SO MANY botanical oils and extracts. Seriously, if you are an oil lover, prepare to enjoy. Though there are 26 different varieties included in the formula, here were my favorites: tea seed oil, jojoba, argan, rosehip, meadowfoam, and sea buckthorn. There is also a nice dose of vitamin E, as well as floral oils from rose, gardenia, and chamomile. It has such an earthy and beautiful scent and the entire blend absorbs shockingly easily for something so rich. I am someone who really loves a good facial oil, and my collection is pretty vast. The fact that this calming and hydrating oil has made it to the top of my favorites list is really saying something!

Eternal Apothic Super C Skin Crystals, 25 mL - Retail Value $36.00

Vitamin C is one of those ingredients that is SO GOOD for all skin routines. Worried about aging? Add vitamin C, it helps fade age spots and fine lines. Dull skin? Add vitamin C because it gives skin a great glow! Acne issues? You know I am going to suggest adding some vitamin C because it helps your acne scars heal faster! Literally, this is good for everyone. The downside? It is extremely unstable. These little crystals arrive dry, meaning they are active and ready to go as soon as you add some water and press them onto your face. It is certainly messier than a stabilized form of vitamin C in a cream or serum form, but arguably a lot more fun.

Honua Skincare Aloha Youth Serum, 59 mL - Retail Value $92.00

I always think of this serum fondly, because I have a dear friend who really loves it. It is made in Hawaii and contains ingredients and extracts cultivated locally like noni, comfrey, and hibiscus. It has a very distinct scent that I personally really enjoy and the creaminess of the serum feels great on my skin and absorbs easily. It also features bakuchiol, a plant-derived version of retinol and an anti-aging powerhouse. This was another win for me, though I might have to pass it along to my friend who loved it even more than I do.

The Verdict: This Laurel & Reed delivery has a value of $223.00 which is quite the value for a $49.95 box. This month's curation also felt both nourishing and adventurous between the vitamin C crystals and their unique and clever delivery system, the very Hawaiian escape-inspired serum, and that adorable golden orb of facial oil. It is worth noting that, sure, we received two serums in this box, but they are very, very different from one another but both are very botanical. Both have wonderfully nourishing ingredients lists and should be skin treats for most anyone and the different weights and feels make them fun to switch up for both day and night.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
