Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get 5 full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2020 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)

(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

My Ipsy Glam Bag February 2021 Review

Included is a card that usually details each of the items but also outlines beauty tips and tricks.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme is "Send Love," and the bag is PERFECT. I think my favorite thing about this month's bag is this adorable little red clutch. It has the outline of a postcard in gold, as well as an adorable little pair of golden lips atop the clasp, and it opens like an actual envelope. The lettering says, "Sealed with a kiss." It's literally a valentine reimagined as a makeup bag. I'm here for it.

BENEFIT COSMETICS 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel, 3.5 ml - Estimated Value $12.00 (Buy a full-size 7.0 ml for $24.00)

Benefit Cosmetics is one of those brands that is always creating great products with amazing packaging design. This 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel comes in a dainty chrome-tastic tube. The wand has a double-sided applicator that is perfect for securing every last little hair in place. The formula is smooth, not thick or heavy, and doesn't dry down into crusty flakes that make you look like you're the only person in the world with eyebrow dandruff. I really appreciate receiving this product because I am a fan of thick brows, and also I haven't been able to get to the salon; therefore, my brows have been living on the wild side. This clear gel is perfect to keep them in place all day long without making them look stiff and painted on.

HARUHARU Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner, 13 ml - Estimated Value $1.91 (Buy a full-size 150 ml for $22.00)

Haruharu Wonder's Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is an experience in hydrating refreshment. This toner is not harsh and is super gentle for sensitive skin. It left my face feeling hydrated and all-around refreshed. In the winter months, I find that some toners can be really drying for my skin. This was the complete opposite. Formulated with a unique fermentation blend of raw ingredients, it not only helps condition skin but also prepares the surface for optimal absorption when layering products. I like that toner was included in this month's Glam Bag, it's a nice staple product that I use every day but don't always receive in subscriptions.

RE:P Nutrinature Ultra All-Night Moisture & Relief Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $4.80 (Buy a full-size 100 ml for $32.00)

Masks are a huge part of my skincare routine, and this RE:P Nutrinature Ultra All-Night Moisture & Relief Mask is the complete nourishing overnight treatment. With a very light herbaceous scent, the mask is creamy but not heavy. The light texture ensures that the product will not clog pores while you sleep. In the morning, I awoke to hydrated, soft, dewy-looking skin. Formulated with lemon balm, tea tree oil, apple mint, basil oil, and olive oil, the product works through the night to smooth, soften, and moisturize skin.

CODAGE PARIS Micro-Peeling Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $25.08 (Buy a full-size 50 ml for $83.60 USD)

This Codage Paris Micro-Peeling Mask works to rejuvenate the complexion and create a uniform radiance on your face. I am very intrigued by this product, especially since it's imported from France. I'm excited Ipsy is incorporating products from other countries into their Glam Bag, and this mask is wonderful. After applying, I could definitely feel a slight tingling sensation on my skin as the product worked to exfoliate and brighten. Formulated with AHA and BHA, the mask unclogs pores and eliminates blackheads, dead skin cells, and other imperfections, while stimulating cell renewal and reducing dark spots, fine lines, and other blemishes. After rinsing, the product left my skin feeling very, very smooth but was gentle enough not to leave behind any irritation.

LOTTIE LONDON Ready Set! Go Loose Setting Powder in True Translucent, 5 g - Estimated Value $2.20 (Buy a full-size 15 g for $6.59 USD)

Oh, goodie, another European product! This Lottie London Ready Set! Go Loose Setting Powder in True Translucent is a superfine, super light setting powder that does not cake up over foundation but instead sits nicely on my skin, setting my makeup and reducing the blinding shine of my T-zone. After using this powder, I definitely feel it holds its own against some of the pricier, higher-end setting powders. At the retail price, it's a great value and works well as a smoothing setting powder, lasting for hours, and doesn't disappear on my oily skin.

Verdict:  I enjoyed the products in this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag, but I do wish I had received more variety. While both the Codage Paris mask and the RE:P mask are great products that I will enjoy, they are both masks. The Haruharu Wonder toner is an awesome hydrating product that I definitely would like to use again. Benefit Cosmetics' clear brow gel is a great product for taming my brows and I'm happy to have received it. I also like that we received the Lottie London setting powder. I think it's great to receive a product with an accessible retail value that is also great quality and comparable to higher-end brands. With a retail value of $45.99 on a $12 bag, the Ipsy Glam Bag curates a unique group of national and international products that are exciting to try.

Naomi, you’ve psyched me to open the Lottie London powder instead of the past 4 or 5 powders ipsy’s sent me! I haven’t received a Lottie item before.

I also got the hair gloss, which is my #1 item of excitement this month. Anyone tried it yet? I have fine hair and I hope it could look really good if I don’t overdo it and give myself motor-oil-spill style. (Unicorn style?)

The Lottie London power has been working really great for me! I hope you get to try it KC, I was pleasantly surprised at how such an affordable product could hold its own against some of the more high end brands I’ve tried.

I hope I get this actual bag. Their site has 2 different bags and I want this one so bad. Why have an extra cute bag and a plain striped one?

Patti

Hi! Hopefully by now you got your bag, and the one with the lips! I wanted it too and got it! But word of advice if you didn’t get it yet in case you do get it….the lips aren’t attached well at all! So be very careful when you open the bag!

I got the red one with the “SWAK” on the back…I saw a “mod” in a forum where someone removed the “SWAK” with acetone and also glued a cute stamp where the “ipsy” stamp was. Very cool, if you are that ambitious. 😀 Which I may or (prob) may not be. Her stamp of choice was way cute, though. As a gift, I could see doing that.

Amber

Because some people have different tastes. I prefer the striped one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lori

Same, but of course I got this one, too. Such is sub box life.

Bonnie

Ha me too, but I got this red one.

Marion

I wish the Lottie London setting powder had been an add-on. I would have loved to have purchased it!

Bonnie

Probably show up again. These things tend to show up in bags again, or as point redemptions.

Marion

Too true, my friend!

Katy

My shipping finally updated since the 10th…thanks to Mother Nature I won’t be seeing my Ipsy until March 4th according to the tracking info. 🙄

Gosh only knows where my three boxes from another company’s monthly sale are or when they will be arriving!

On a bright note, its 70 here today! -20 last week, summer vibes this week!

Susan

I never get any shipping emails from Ipsy and have no idea when the bag will arrive.

Patti

Sign up for Informed Delivery it’s free and from USPS, the Post Office…not UPS.
You can check the status of your regular mail and any packages that you are getting! You can also see if your letters, bills, Birthday cards from Grandma (lol), are expected to be delivered that day. The same goes for any packages it says were delivered! If you don’t get it you can check the box and it notifies the post office and they will handle finding out where it might be.
Like I said earlier…it’s FREE!

Alice

I’m still waiting for mine and my Plus.

Charlotte

Same. Mine shipped on the 13th, and has been stuck in Atlanta since the 17th. I know Atlanta didn’t get any winter weather, so I’m not sure what the excuse is.

I find it hilarious that Dea replied with a Star Trek DS9 reference re: USPS! 🤣 I have had one package from my dad go completely thru the mystical wormhole from Christmastime (it by now contains extremely rotten pears, good grief, NO WONDER it’s gone missing–I’m almost afraid of it showing up).

My Feb Ipsy JUST arrived. We’ve had some snow in the mid-Atlantic but everything south/west of us had a very rough time, plus a lot of COVID recently in the USPS staff slowing down sorting. I hope your pink envelope arrives soon!

Dea

There is a wormhole in the Atlanta USPS package warehouse that swallows pink packages. My ipsy orders went into it twice already in the past few months and ipsy had to give me a refund. The weather is gorgeous here in this part of Georgia, which is why the astronomical phenomena moved here. I wish you the best, but please get used to the idea that you’ll never see this package and that someone on Bajor is opening a cosmetics store. 🙁

Jennie

Mine has been stuck at a somewhat local post office since the 16th. No further updates from there.

Ana

Me too! Wonder when feb will ship?

I got the exact same bag! The toner was my pick. It was kind of funny how everything in my bag was translucent, but I’m not complaining because I’ll use it all.

I loved the bags this month, so cute! Skipping March because of UGLY bags.! I am loving the Lottie London lippies we got in previous bags! Does anyone know if they sell their products in any stores?

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

Lottie London is on Ulta.com and Lookfantastic.com

It’s a really nice affordable brand. I love the Tan Time bronzer.

Luna

Cute bag 🙂 I don’t sub to Ipsy, but I do purchase their mystery bags a couple of months later when I see a bag I like. I’ll have to keep this one on my radar.

echo

Another cautionary note! I got this bag and it’s cute but the clasp broke off the first time I opened it.

Reply ButtonReply

Patti

I just posted a warning about that to another girl! I saw how it was attached and knew it was going to be a disaster waiting to happen! Now I have to remember to be careful opening it,

Marion

Careful! This month is a bag variant month. It was either this envelope-style bag or a striped one with different shades + tones of red. It has a lip-shaped zipper pull. You could get either, no way to tell.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Thanks for the warning! I’ll make sure to check out the other bag to see if I like it, and read the details when the mystery bags become available. 🙂

FetchingMommy

The bag is super cute and could definitely be used as a fun chic clutch. I loved it even more after I had it in my hands. I hope you get a chance to scoop one up…. I think you’ll love it 😁

Luna

Thanks! When I was subbed to Ipsy, even when a bag seemed just okay in the spoilers they were always so much nicer to me in person. 🙂 I hope I’ll be able to get this one!

Aanchal Gupta

my bag looked more orangish-red to me!
