GlitzGlam "Celestial Moon" January 2021 Review

This month's GlitzGlam Box theme is Celestial Moon. How fitting for this new year that we have embarked upon! I want all the supernatural moon vibes. An info card that lists the products on the front was included. The back of the card lists a promotion on GlitzGlam's website.

Moonslice Beauty Blushing Moon Palette, 21.9 g, – Retail Value $20.00

Let's jump right into our first item! This palette by Moonslice Beauty offers 4 blushes that can be used for all seasons and was made for all complexions. The kit includes 2 shimmering blushes and 2 matte.

I've swatched the colors L-R, Top-Bottom. I really like how each shade compliments my skin tone! I was really surprised at how much I loved the orange tone on my skin. I thought that wouldn't be a blush I'd use, but I can't wait to experiment with fun looks!

Lavender Stardust Lipgloss, 8 ml– Retail Value $7.00

I received this lipgloss in the color Champagne (not currently listed on Lavender Stardust's website.)

This lipgloss took me back to middle school days! While I appreciated the nostalgia of those pre-teeny bopper years, I wasn't a huge fan of this gloss. The consistency is that of a lip smackers gloss. Smells really good, taste yummy, but is watery and not moisturizing.

If you look closely to the swatch on my arm, you can see how the consistency is watery/greasy. Don't expect this to be a nourishing lip product. I'm also not crazy about glitter being on my lips. Mainly because it's so time consuming to take off. I let coconut oil soak on my lips for a bit, and even then still needed to scrub vigorously.

Glitzglam Box Never Basic Star Lash – Retail Value $7.99

Glitzglam is at it again with another stunning style of lashes! These lashes are in the style Constellation and boy did I feel like a star with them on! One of the things I love most about Glitzglam's lashes are the thicker band at the top, making glue application easy!

Just stunning. I have yet to be disappointed with Glitzglam's lash selections. Though dramatic in style, these pretty lashes were nice and light, leaving little to no irritation when worn.

Docolor Fantasy Fan Brush – Retail Value $7.99

Our last item in this month's box is a colorful fan brush by Docolor. Not only am I completely in love with the unicorn color choice on this brush, I love how soft the bristles feel on my skin! I'm sure to put this fan brush to good use.

Verdict: I thought this Celestial Moon themed box was cute. As always, the lashes were darling and made my eyes pop! I really enjoyed the unicorn vibes with the fan brush. Pretty and practical.  This subscription costs $17.99 ($15.00 + $2.99 shipping), and I estimate that I received $42.98 in value this month. This is on par for GlitzGlam.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sadly, no, because they are preparing next month's box. BUT, you can shop on their website and find similar items!

Value Breakdown: At $17.99 ($15 + $2.99 shipping) for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Palette - $8.37
  • Gloss - $2.93
  • Lashes - $3.34
  • Brush - $3.34

I left a very critical comment for this box’s October 2020 box. To see what I complained about, go through the pictures of each product from that review and actually read what is printed on the packaging. It’s horrible. Completely unacceptable for ANY “curated” sub box. And while packaging errors, even when blatant (and really, unforgivable) may not be associated with the quality of the product inside of the package, they nonetheless let us know that the folks behind the sub box don’t bother to even glance over the packaging before sending the items out to their customers. And I find that disturbing. Even if subsequent boxes from this company haven’t had such horrible blatant issues, the fact that they had even one month that was SO BAD tells me to be very critical of how involved the “curators” of this sub really are.

Did anyone from this sub box address my comment about the box I’m referencing? I think we are due an answer or explanation about how such huge errors were permitted, and what they’ve done to correct the problem. Even if I don’t sub this box, those of you who do are ENTITLED to answers and assurance that this sub is finally addressing these issues.

Wow ALL of those blush colors look fantastic on you! I really like that 3rd color down on your skin, but you’d look great in any of those!

You look gorgeous!

That gloss contains Polyethylene Terpththalate (the glitter), which is plastic and probably not something you want to put on your lips and possibly ingest. It’s also terrible pollution for our waterways. 🙁 I really wish companies would stop using it!

Thank you so much! That’s really good info to know. It’s not a product that I was going to use again before receiving that information haha! So even more thankful to know this now.

You’re very welcome! Scientists have been finding microplastics in fish. 🙁 They’re not sure how it affects the human body yet, so it’s best to avoid plastic glitter altogether, imo!

Steph

That should be “Polyethylene terephthalate.” I copied what I wrote before from the company’s website, where it was misspelled.
