Gentleman's Box February 2021 Review

This is our issue of the included Gentleman's Post, which is a booklet highlighting the items included in our box and lists their retail values. This month we have another brand takeover and all of our pieces come from AUS Cufflinks. They also included a nice reminder about mental health in the back, something that I think is so important to focus on now more than ever!

AUS Cufflinks Tie - Listed Value $35.00
This tie is very unique with that metallic silver-gray background. It definitely has a winter vibe even though it boasts tiny florals all over. I actually don't think any of the florals are purple but rather it creates an illusion with the blue flowers and the various red dots throughout. Even up close, it's really difficult to tell! This is definitely a different style of tie, but my husband liked it a lot. While I didn't find this exact tie, this one looks quite similar, but without the shiny silver.

AUS Cufflinks Purple Edged White Pocket Square - Listed Value $19.00
Our pocket square is very simple this month with a plain white cotton square and purple thread around the edges. I love that they recommend it being worn with just the white showing, or allowing the trim to show for a small pop of color. I linked to what I believe is the same pocket square on their site, but that one is showing up as $14.95 whereas ours is listed as $19.00 so I'm not quite sure where the discrepancy is.

AUS Cufflinks Cufflinks - Listed Value $29.00
I love the presentation of these cufflinks arriving in this sleek black box with a nice velvety purple background. It definitely makes them feel classier. The cufflinks themselves are very simple in design with the nice toggle back which makes them easy to put on. They are made from copper and alloy. While these were nice, my husband doesn't really have a need for these, so they were probably his least favorite item this month.

AUS Cufflinks Lapel Pin - Listed Value $15.00
This small purple flower lapel pin ties in nicely with our color scheme and its small size makes this feel like one of the more wearable lapel pins we've received. It's a really simple pop of color that you could add to your suit jacket for a subtle hint of sophistication without it being too dramatic.

Here is a look at the tie, pocket square, and lapel pin. It all looks nice and sleek with the navy suit and I could definitely see that pocket square looking nice with just the white showing in a one or two-point fold style, although in general, it feels a bit more casual than the rest of the look.

AUS Cufflinks Socks - Listed Value $15.00
Lastly, we have these purple and gray socks. I kind of like the way the gray is dispersed throughout the socks with the thin gray stripes on the leg and the gray heels and toes. My husband found them to be a bit bright, but he thought they were comfortable. These socks are made from 85% cotton, 10% polyester, 3% spandex, and 2% nylon.

Verdict: This month's Gentleman’s Box came together nicely for a very cohesive look. I wasn't too sure about that tie or the lapel pin, but when they were both set against my husband's navy suit, they had just the right amount of color and style without being too dramatic or bold. I don't know if this is a tie my husband would wear for work considering it is kind of fancy with its shiny background, but it will be great for a special occasion along with the lapel pin. I think the pocket square is a little too casual for it all together though and he would probably opt for something a bit nicer! The total listed retail value is $113 for this box which is great for a $35 + free shipping box. Even if we use the lower value for the pocket square, that is still over $108 for this box.
