Fabletics VIP Membership Review – February 2021
Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. In fact, it’s one of our readers’ top picks for Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2021! The VIP Membership is $49.95/month and allows you to choose from outfits and sets that have been put together just for members at a discounted price.
You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:
- Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
- Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $24 for new VIP members.
- Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
- As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.
Put simply, this subscription won’t automatically send you monthly packages as other services do. (But they will automatically charge you if you take no action.) You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call Fabletics customer service to do so.
VIP Membership Updates:
Recently, I received an email stating that my VIP Membership was changing…for the better. What does this mean? According to the FAQ’s on their website, they will be dropping new styles every week instead of every month, and each month, when you are charged the $49.95, you will be issued a member credit, which is redeemable for any item or outfit up to $80!
FYI, COVID-19 Update:
Ready, Set, Ship: Our shipping times are now 100% back to normal & select retail stores have reopened, but health & safety is still our top priority. Read more here.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Fabletics VIP Membership Review – February 2021
This was my second experience with the new changes to the VIP membership, and although I thought I knew what I was doing after last month, they through me for a loop again. Pre-change, I found myself setting an early alarm for the 1st of the month to get my favorite styles before they were gone. While I no longer have to do that, I noticed this month that my account didn’t get charged for the “member credit” as of the 11th. Last month, I received my credit on day 8, so I thought this month would be similar, but it wasn’t. When I went to my account this month on the 11th, it showed that I was no longer able to skip (you have to do that in the first 5 days of the month) but it wasn’t showing my credit yet either. Underneath that info was a button that gave me the option to “claim my membership credit early,” so I pressed it, and was able to shop that day. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite an array of outfits in my size that day, and have noticed a good selection of new options since. I also am excited about the fact that our $49.95 credit can be used on items up to $80. If you are all about the deals like I am, it feels like steal to get an $80 outfit for $50, but it might not be cost effective if you were looking for an individual item. Next month I’m going to keep an eye on when my account actually gets charged and see what new styles they drop that day. What were your experiences this month?
Such a cute outfit! I’ve been living in sweats all a while now so will def check this brand out to see what else they offer. The $50 monthly cost also seems very reasonable compared to other brands out there. Reading through the comments, I’m excited to see what these other sales are!
I really recommend waiting to subscribe until there’s a good sale and taking advantage of both the 2 for $24 leggings deal for new subscribers + 50-70% off sales around holiday weekends. Pretty much the entire site goes on sale. I would not pay the $50 monthly cost unless you’re trying to buy newly released outfits frequently. I really love all of the lounge pants I’ve bought though, the joggers are so so soft.
I picked up those pants in black and they are easily my favorite sweatpants ever. And prior to 2020 I honestly never thought I’d ever type that. (I never really wore lounge wear). If you have Fabletics credit or can pick them up when they do their 2 for $24 leggings offers, DO IT.
Oooo I need them in black!! I am definitely going to be on the look-out for another pair! I’m actually wearing them as I type! Thanks for commenting Murakami!
In addition to the pricing issues people mention, has anyone noticed that there are fewer outfits than before and the site seems to be overwhelmingly single pieces? I’ve had some membership credits lingering for so long (converted over when they moved to their new model) and keep seeing $20 or $30 items (even down to $15 when on sale) for one membership credit.
So unless I actually find something priced at $50 or above, I actually….paid $49.99 for the privilege of getting a $25 item?
Thanks for commenting Melissa Orpen-Tuz. I have been noticing the increase in single pieces…especially when they are collaborative pieces. I am noticing the membership credit is pretty much only a good deal when you buy an outfit….otherwise I’d save it and purchase the single pieces regularly.
Agh where did my comment go?
I agree with tpop, the new membership credit seems to be worse rather than better. I was mostly keeping my membership to have access to the 50-70% off sales. Most outfits seem to be $20-40 during the sale so the membership credit doesn’t really seem worth it for me.
That is true Wendy…you can score some hefty discounts with the 50-70% off sales, but it seems the membership credit is only worth it when you buy a newly released outfit that happens to be under the $80. Thanks for commenting!
Those sweats look so cozy! I think it all looks great on you! 🙂
Awe thanks Brandi! ❤ You are so sweet!
The new changes don’t seem better to me. They overprice everything and then tell you that you are getting a discount. Since they set their “retail price” themselves there is no real discount. This system only exists to catch “members” who forget to skip and take their money to guarantee future sales. In the case of credits, you may get a discount from full price but you loose money if there’s a sale price. Since it’s not real money you don’t get a choice. And if you have to wait that long for your credit the newest items may already be sold out. I just buy items on sale and save more money that way.
Yep I agree, the new membership system feels like a ripoff. Especially since they’ve been having so many 50-70% off sales recently, I never buy anything at full price. Many of the outfits are $20-40 during the sales so $50 for the membership credit feels steep. I’ve been skipping all my months anyway because I just want access to the sales, but at least before, if I forgot to skip I knew I would buy something when a sale came around and still get my money’s worth eventually. Now I just have to be extra vigilant on skipping.
I shop similarly – I mostly skip each month, then buy items I want when they have a really good sale. If I have a little extra cash at the beginning of the month, though, I will sometimes accrue a credit and use it when a new outfit drops that I really like – that way I don’t have to risk waiting and having my size sell out.
That’s a good way to go about it jenny! I like it. Thanks for sharing!
