I’m canceling too

I remember when Luxe was actually something I was so looking forward to every few months and now… I just resigned up a month ago or so but after this I might have to cancel again I guess we’ll see when I actually get the box. I received my starter December Luxe box and the 4 items I received were blah. I knew since I’d already received a regular box I’d only be receiving the starter but I expected more since December seemed to have some decent products in their box.

I totally agree this is absolutely very disappointing I will be canceling no question seems to me they are putting all the hype into premium and base so I’m done

Nicole

I agree I think I’m going to cancel too!

I’m actually excited about the heat brush, but I definitely don’t like that it’s from a predatory company. I can’t straighten my hair with a traditional flat iron due to arthritis in my hands, and the heat brush that I bought from Amazon about a year ago has recently started not working as well (which I guess is to be expected for a $30 no-name product). I chose the heat brush specifically, because I was actually about to buy myself a new one.

I’m a bit disappointed in the palette though.

I’m considering doing a last minute-ish cancelation of Luxe and just going for base. Spending that money on whatever else. Or nothing. (But probably other things. Lol)

Anyone want to weigh in?

Janice

Is there a way to still cancel the March box? There have been few spoilers. I feel like this might not be a good box.

Robin

I did cancel btw. Not sure what date, but days ago.

Robin

I was charged today for base. Probably Luxe was too. So Probably too late? I’m not certain, but it seems like it.

Well that’s the most boring pallet I’ve ever seen and then there’s that completely random blue color? I’m stoked about the glow recipe serum, but super disappointed to see yet another Luxe box ruined by another garbage pallet.

Also- have any of ya’ll looked up the company reviews for that Soleil brush? *cringe* Apparently that’s the company behind those shady, piranha like salespeople at the mall who physically pull you to their kiosk so they can harass you about flat irons. I read like 50 complaints about them just making up prices on the spot based on what they think you’ll pay. Several people also said they were a victim of bait and switch- they’ll use a really great steam iron on your hair to get you to buy, but the iron the put in your bag is a cheap piece of garbage that breaks after a week. Of course they don’t do refunds. I hate it when boxy uses these absurd retail valuations and tell you that the product sells for $250, and it’s really not cool that they’re partnering with such predatory companies.

I’m so over these random palettes! I wish they would stop filling these boxes up with brands that we’ve never heard of! I would rather get less products + have prestige makeup brands. Quality > Quantity.

Robin

Yeah, I ended up canceling Luxe.

I absolutely hate those kinds of salespeople. I’m glad I’m not getting luxe this month, I don’t want to support those scammers.

They said that we’d be getting a Beauty Bakerie palette, so what is this?

Another bait and switch.

It’s always something! The basic box is getting Lime Crime, Glow Recipe, Too Faced and some other nice items. Why would the “luxury” box get a palette that’s from a virtually unheard of brand? The color story is also miserable. I’m pale, so those colors will blend in with my skin. *facepalm*

They kept showing us full size heated brushes and hair accessories, so we thought that would be a luxe choice. Nope. A mini brush that is $15-$30 by other brands was offered instead. We didn’t even get the new model that’s available. Boxy is incredibly shady.

Yeah I was going to cancel after December, but stayed for some spoilers I saw that you mentioned and now I feel like I was punked. 😅

That palette is not luxe. How very disappointing! The new Ipsy X bag had a Huda palette, at least. Boxy Luxe gives us…. whatever that is. The Bee Beauty London website comes up as extremely basic, single-page as far as I can tell, and has a grand total of TWO items. This palette, and another. Boo-hiss.

Harmony

Disappointing. So many of the shades are exactly the same. I expected more from Boxyluxe.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

Oh no! I thought we were going to get a well known brand palette I could see this maybe in a base as a great bonus but for luxe… no go. =[

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Hey! Base doesn’t want it either lol
I don’t mind messy color stories if they’re useful, which that seems to be, but it’s crummy to put a non-established brand in at all. I would take a colourpop palette over this rando nonsense (boxy that is NOT a request for coloupop, I don’t want that either but at least it’s a real brand)

Reply ButtonReply

Tabi

Lol isn’t it funny that the blue color is literally the only somewhat exciting color in the whole bunch, and it 100% looks like it was put in the wrong pallet by accident? I thought we were getting Beauty Bakerie : (

Yolanda

A few questions lol I’ve never received lux. If I upgrade now, will I get to choose anything? Will they charge me now or at the end of the month? Also, I chose the glow recipe banana soufflé for my base and I really want that cus it’s for redness. I wouldn’t get base the month I get lux right? Is there anyway to get both?can I keep my base? Ughh y do they make it so difficult?!!!!! I’d have to open another account and get lux through that one huh? Then I bet they’ll send me all old crap I already have ☹️.

I decided to give Luxe one more chance and renewed my subscription yesterday. It did let me choose my items immediately because choice was still open. I got the “waitlist” email too, but I just clicked “choose” on the homepage and it let me pick : )

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

If you upgrade now you won’t get to choose. They’ll put you on the wait list and you won’t know for sure whether you’re getting luxe until they bill on the first of the month (or the day before if it’s a weekend.) I keep a second account so that I can still get a base box in luxe months.

Reply ButtonReply

Meghan

No that’s not true. I just signed up for Luxe today (I already get Base Box) and I was able to choose for Luxe even though I am on the waitlist. Because Choice is still open if you sign up for Luxe you can choose. But there are some choices out of stock. Which is ok. I did not pick that heat stlying brush because it has terrible reviews on Boxycharm and I would rather them fill my box up with other items instead of wasting $150 on that. I am not excited for this palette though. This is a Luxe box. Does anyone know this brand and why do most the shades look the same and light af???

Hia

I signed up for the lux and got to choose 2 products. But then got an email saying I’m on the waiting list. So I don’t understand if I will be receiving the lux box. Has anyone faced this before?
Do you think I will receive it this term? I really hope I do. I really love the products they are offering.

Reply ButtonReply

Jenn

Most likely you will get it. You will find out on March 1st if you get charged. I’ve had Luxe since it started but I’ve heard many other people say they also got to choose, got a waitlist email and then still got charged and got the box. Unless they have a crazy amount of new sign ups they arent prepared for, you should be fine.

Hia

I just signed up for the lux. They made me choose 2 products. But I got an email that I’m on the waiting list. So now I’m not sure if I am actually getting the lux box?? I reallly hope that I do. I really like the items in lux this term.

Can someone tell me if they’ve been in this situation and if so, do you think I will receive lux this term?
Fingers crossed 🤞

Marion

You’ll get the March Luxe!

You might also get a Luxe December starter box.

Reply ButtonReply

Janelle

I had the same thing happen, I made my choices and also have a Dec box on the way.

Marion

That palette looks like a Morphe palette, and that’s not a compliment.

I love Lauren Mae Beauty’s videos on YouTube where she edits down this type of giant palette until they make sense.

Reply ButtonReply

Meghan

Right? That palette is a snooze fest and not worth anywhere near $50. I can’t believe they are trying to pass that off as “Luxe”
